  1. Yeah, been noticing that with Hughes. Kind of like Mario Williams his last couple of seasons here. Works to get around the tackle but he’d be 5 yards past the pocket.
  2. Tackling is horrendous at times. Jefferson had Helaire wrapped up by his head and let him get away. Luckily someone else was there to clean up. It would be interesting to find out how many tackles Helaire broke in this game. Of course, many times they didn’t get a hand on him until he was 7-8 yards down the field. They showed that one replay from the end zone camera behind. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger hole. The closest players were barely on the edges of the screen. How does that happen?
  3. I picked the Bills Defense for a fantasy team. I was about to drop them before this game but kept them. They “should” do better vs the Jets but I may need to dump them if this continues.
  4. Same with Bradshaw, a career 52% passer.
  5. And he’s also good friends with Josh. I think you retain him to keep your franchise QB happy, as long as there are no obvious alternatives.
  6. IIRC, Moorman was the first punter to have a net average of 40 yards. Now most of them do it.
  7. And that was right after Espenesa made a great tackle on a run. Short leash, rook.
  8. For one carry that he lost like 3 yards, I reran several times to see what happened. It wasn’t the O-line or Singletary per se. The DB came right up to the line on the outside, then run blitzed. A play action would’ve left them short on coverage unless another defender went back. (Can’t check. I deleted the game immediately) This has me wondering if a tell has been identified with one or more of the Bills offense regarding a pass VS a run. that DB didn’t hesitate at all as if he knew it was a run.
  9. I’ve been as much of a critic as anyone of Bojorquez but he hit 2 bombs from their own end. Unfortunately the first one out kicked the coverage. 64 yard average! Wow!
  10. Yep, I thought of Lawson when they failed run containment a few times.
  11. Since he continues to not be able to stay healthy, is he worth trying to re-sign?
  12. You guys remember Steve DeBerg? He was the starting QB for the Niners in 1978. Then they drafted Joe Montana and he became the starter in 1980, with DeBerg becoming backup. DeBerg was traded to Denver in 1981 and was the starter. Then in 1983 they got Elway. In 1984, DeBerg was traded to Tampa & was the starter. When the USFL folded they got Steve Young who became starter. Then they drafted Testaverde in 1987. In 1998, DeBerg was traded to Kansas City where he started for 4 years.
  13. I ‘d say, along with free agency, the salary cap prevents teams from keeping top players for a long team. You can’t sign everyone to big contracts.
  14. Yes, the same for me. His inconsistent accuracy in his first 2 seasons was a big concern. With analysts claiming they don’t remember a QB with accuracy issues improving on that once they get to the NFL, there was doubt he could. We’ve seen too many young QBs recently, like Mayfield and Trubisky, that start off well in their NFL career and then regress for various reasons. You can probably throw guys like Wentz and Goff into that group as they had career years early and have yet to repeat them. Then Allen starts this season with his first 300 yard game and follows it up with a 400+ yard game. Those games, though, were against the Jets and Dolphins, who he has always played well against. To come out VS another 3-0 team whose defense has Arnold and Ramsey and get a 28-3 lead was a big Wow moment for me. The defense let the Rams back into the game but the offense also stopped producing. Then, after falling behind, Allen leads the Bills to a last minute come from behind victory. That was the moment for me. Sure, he had several late comebacks to his credit, but this was the defining one to me, against a solid playoff contender.
  15. Their WR Terry McLaurin had a very good rookie year and the rookie RB Gibson has looked good. The rest though. Logan Thomas is their starting TE. Three of their other WRs are undrafted.
  16. I think at that point they just have to skip the Thursday game for that week.
  17. Didn’t you guys see the receivers Green Bay had out there yesterday? Darius Shepard? Malik Taylor? Both undrafted. They definitely could use some help.
  18. Mr Defense has the Lions scoring well. 21+ points in every game. The defense is why they’re 1-3. You be the judge. The Jets host Arizona next. If they go 0-5 and aren’t competitive, it would make no sense for the Jets to keep Gase. He’s following the Peter Principle and needs to go back to being a coordinator at best. A long shot at this point is Vic Fangio. Denver is 1-3, the only win last week vs the Jets, and he lost their 1st game vs Tennessee with poor clock management at the end. You don’t lose a game on a last second FG and still have 2 timeouts. They play New England next so a loss there might not do it, but they host Miami in week 6 and Fangio May need to win that one.
  19. So, who had O’Brien as the first HC firing in the pool?
  20. Yet, Cleveland had over 300 yards rushing. You’d think they would’ve dominated the time of possession and Dallas rarely have the ball. Don’t see that many team rushing totals like that these days. OBJ did score on a 50 yard run to quickly up the total, but I don’t know what drives they had for their other scores. Still Prescott had enough time for 58 pass attempts with only one 40+ yard scoring pass.
  21. I don’t believe I’m going much out on a limb here. With Dak Prescott’s 502 yard game vs Cleveland on Sunday, I looked up what the record was. In 1951 Norm Van Brocklin of the Rams threw for 554 yards. With the NFL being such a passing league now, it’s amazing that the record goes back that far. In recent seasons, Matt Schaub of the Texans threw for 527 yards in 2012. Warren Moon also threw for 527 yards in 1990. At this point, it seems to not be if Van Brocklin’s record will be broken but when. Could it be this season?
  22. Same here. With the camera view, it’s hard to see that McKenzie was even back there and the eyes follow Josh going back. Then you see McKenzie flying around the corner and he has the ball.
  23. With the Bills long-standing poor record on the West Coast, I had even changed my pick in the pick-em league to the Raiders. This is a signature win. Derek Carr May have played the best game I’ve seen him play and the Bills still won. Looking forward, but not too far, to see how they do vs the Super Bowl teams.
  24. Yeah, Beasley had a couple, the one by Brown that WAS a touchdown, and a couple by Diggs. 24 for 34 and I remember 3 blatant drops. One by Knox in the red zone and then it was cool that they ran the exact same play right after and he almost scored. Then there were the 2 back-to-back by Beasley and Brown on crossing patterns. Other than that they really helped their QB.
