  1. It doesn't mean they made the right choice. The choice to leave on Thursday isn't looking so good. Maybe they just messed up the entire London thing.
  2. I wasn't surprised the Bills had problems with the Giants last night. Brian Daboll knows Josh better than just about anyone else in the NFL. Assistant coaches who return as head coaches to play the team he was an assistant with seem to overachieve against their former team. I'll cite 2 recent coaches who left NE to coach other teams. Both got fired before their 4th seasons. Matt Patricia was bad in Detroit, yet he still was able to beat NE when the 2 teams met. Brian Flores lasted 3 seasons in Miami & was 4-2 vs NE. Now lets add Josh McDaniels who after yesterday is 2-0 with Las Vegas vs NE. The record vs NE for these 3 recent coaches is 7-2 vs future HOF coach Bill Belichick. So, lets hit the brakes on the Bills falling apart. The last 2 weeks they traveled to London to play a team that had been there the week before & stayed there, then they came back to play vs a former assistant who is very familiar with the Bills. I remember a time when the week after a game in Europe, the NFL gave the teams a bye the next Sunday. I'll attribute the 2 showings to travel and coming back to play a coach who knows them better than just about any other head coach in the league. Until proven wrong, I'm giving the team a break for the past 2 weeks, one of them a victory, which is more than I can say for Bill Belichick's recent games versus his former assistants where he's 0-2 the last 2 times he faced Josh McDaniels and 0-3 the last 3 times he faced Brian Flores. Add in the Patricia loss in 2018 and the last 6 games vs these 3 former assistants Bill is 0-6. The only one he's beaten is Flores in 2 of 6 games over 2019-2021, with 1 win each in 2019 & 2020.
  3. How many times have you seen Tyrod Taylor come from behind in a final drive? When he was Bills QB I never trusted him to come back late in the 4th quarter. However, if by some miracle he did, I'd rather try to get up by 8 rather than to give him the chance to beat me with a TD & punt with a 5 point lead.
  4. You obviously don't know Albany TV. How much clearer can I state this: THE STATION ALREADY ANNOUNCED IN AN ADVERTISEMENT THAT THE 1:00 GAME NEXT SUNDAY IS GIANTS/WASHINGTON.
  5. It's the Giants. They already advertised the game on Ch 6. I posted this after the advertisement. The Bills game has never been shown when the Giants are on the same time on the same network in the 35 + years I've lived around Albany-NEVER. CBS is carrying the Bills game & the Giants game. Albany will always get the Giants 1st. I go to the OTB where I get my own booth where I can hear the broadcast. The only time I'd go to a bar is for a Thursday night Amazon game or the Peacock game. OTB is closed after 7:30.
  6. When I looked at the schedule, I thought it was a lock we'd get Bills @ NE on 10/22, but Ch 6 will be showing Washington & NYG next week at 1:00.
  7. I'm correcting my statement. When I said Malik Willis has the pocket awareness of Rob Johnson I was wrong. The pocket awareness of Rob Johnson would be a major upgrade for Willis. Sorry Rob, I won't insult you again with statements like that.
  8. Malik Willis has the pocket awareness of Rob Johnson & the sugar highness of rookie Josh Allen.
  9. Jerod Mayo is the next Patriots coach, not junior.
  10. What fans? Every time I watch a Bills game from Miami there are more Bills fans in the stadium.
  11. As far as this "flawed team" stuff goes, every team is flawed if you watch them closely. That's because of a thing called the salary cap. SF is the least flawed team because they have a QB on a 7th round rookie contract playing like a 1st rounder.
  12. It was 36 years ago. I drove a standard for 40 years but when I bought my current car 13 years ago, I had no choice but to get an automatic since they don't sell my model with a stick shift.
  13. Not true. The only car I had stolen was a stick shift. 3 months later I had to replace the clutch on a car 1.5 years old. My previous car made it 129,000 miles on the original clutch, so it was all on the way they drove it.
  14. Half the Giants roster played here, so they know the Bills system. 😀
  15. When Elam & the Bills part company, I expect McDermott to call Elam a programmatic non-fit.
  16. Elam has no trade value other than a late round pick. Why would Denver take him as part of a Surtain trade? Denver would want a lot more than you're proposing. I know some writer proposed the same thing, but that was before the game yesterday. Any value he had disappeared in London. He was benched for an undrafted practice squad rookie from UB.
  17. They're going to need to write an apology book, a letter won't cover all the hosing.
  18. Gibbs was 30-34 in the regular season & 1-2 in playoffs when he came back in 2004-2007. Parcells never had a losing cumulative record in any of the 4 coaching stints with 4 different teams, improving every team he coached. The Patriots were only .500 during his time there, but in 4 seasons he took them from the worst team in football the year before he got there to AFC champs in his final season before going to the Jets & turning them from losers to winners. Gibbs 2nd stint in Washington diminished his credentials. Parcells never diminished his credentials, no matter how bad the team was before he arrived.
  19. I want him in the "I'm going to Disneyland" commercial.
  20. I know some people don't want to admit it, but Bill Parcells is perhaps the greatest coach of the modern era. While most HOF coaches can be linked to a HOF QB, Parcells won wherever he went with multiple QBs. Now add the defensive mind of Belichick to Parcells & you have the greatest 1-2 punch in NFL history. Maybe instead of blaming Levy for being outcoached, it's time to recognize how great the coaching was on the other side. A staff that would be able to out coach just about every other NFL coaching staff. That same staff also included past or future NFL head coaches Tom Coughlin, Ron Erhardt, Al Groh, and Charlie Weiss (I'm excluding Parcells' successor Ray Handley from the list, but he was a head coach too)
  21. The guards on last year's roster were as bad as just about any guard group in Bills history (including 2018). The lone survivor is Bates, who is now our backup center. The top 3 are all newcomers, free agents McGovern & Edwards and draftee Torrence. The team proved you can't throw anybody in at guard & have any semblance of a decent O-line.
  22. I'm old enough to remember Kemp & Lamonica followed by some dark days of Shaw and when Ferguson went down one of the worst half seasons ever by a starting QB, Gary Marangi. Any time I see fans calling for a backup it reminds me of the days of "We want Marangi" followed by us getting Marangi for 7 starts & then his exit from the NFL after setting records for futility that will never be broken. Then there was Kelly about to sign with the Bills when he received the infamous phone call in the Bills office and left for the USFL, not to be seen again in Buffalo for 3 years. In those years we endured Dufek, Ferragamo, & Mathison. We even had Art Schlichter playing horribly in a preseason game before getting cut when Kelly signed. After Kelly we pick up your list. I remember in 2007 I thought we had found the long-term answer in Trent Edwards only to see my optimism shaken along with his brain as he became Captain Checkdown. In the winter of 2018 I was too sick to really follow the draft closely, so I had no opinion whether Allen was the answer or not. I remember getting upset when the Jets traded up to 3, figuring the Bills would be aced out by the Jets for the QB we so desperately needed. The good thing was, by camp I was better & immediately jumped on the Josh Allen bandwagon after hearing the players like Shady raving about him. It's been a great ride with Josh and considering what we've had to put up with since we traded Lamonica to the Raiders, with the exception of the Ferguson & Kelly years with the brief hope Flutie brought & the very brief hope Bledsoe brought, well deserved for all us fans.
  23. All they have to do is tell the water boy: Don't go for it on 4th down deep in your own territory.
  24. One week it's "we've got to fire this guy" and the next week it's "we're going to lose him when he gets a head coaching job" Either way it's not looking good for Ken to be back next season. 😀
