  1. We need Lamar to play his best game next week.
  2. If we lose at Miami the biggest threat is Denver who is 7-7 and has NE, LAC & LV.
  3. I remember when the Arc had the big satellites there. Then I went there for a preseason game & they only had the small dishes & I raced up the Northway with 2 of my friends going 80 MPH until we got to Saratoga to a bar that still had the big satellites. A few years later the Arc closed. I haven't been on that road in years, so I have no idea what they did with the building. One memory I had was going to the Arc to watch the season finale in 1994 vs the Colts. I was with a Jets fan & I was rooting for the Bills to lose for a higher pick since the season finale was meaningless. The Bills lost & picked Ruben Brown at pick 14.
  4. I have no problem paying a few bucks to see the Bills play. Back in the early-mid 1980s when I was living in Long Island I couldn't watch the Bills games anywhere and it was pretty frustrating. To be able to get a game for less than $6 is a bargain - cheaper than anything you'll spend at a sports bar.
  5. The link says they close at 9 pm on Saturdays, so they may not be an option unless they are making an exception for tonight's game. It's a lot tougher finding a place to view night games around here than I imagined until I started looking for a place to watch the 2 streaming night games and was faced with a lot fewer options than on a Sunday afternoon.
  6. I'm not a bar guy, so I've never been to any of them. Clifton Park is, relatively speaking, kind of far to go from where I live when closer options are available. This season only 2 or 3 games weren't available at home. I go to the OTB Clubhouse Race Book for 1:00 games not on TV because I get my own booth & can turn up the audio. Thursday games are tough, because a lot of places including OTB don't stay open late enough to watch the game. Fortunately, Chongli told me about Twitch where Amazon gives the Thursday night games away for free and I watched the Bills/Tampa game at home.
  7. I read the OP & booked flights in & out of Las Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday.
  8. Word of his demands reached Elmwood Cemetary in Detroit and one of the interred is spinning.
  9. When I 1st left Buffalo for the final time as a resident, I was hooked on wings & would make my own. Most of the time it worked out pretty well. I'd cut up the wings, fry them up, add Frank's hot sauce & sometimes a little butter & it was like being back in Buffalo. Well, I'm not much of a cook & had 2 disasters: 1) I made wings in too small a pot. I was making them on a gas stove with a flame & when I put the wings in, the oil boiled over onto the flame and all of a sudden, the flame got very big & was rising. My kitchen was right near the door to my apartment & the flames were reaching close to the bottom of the kitchen cabinets. I had one hand on the doorknob and was afraid my apartment was going to burn down. Fortunately the flame came down & I didn't burn my apartment down. I then transferred the wings & oil to a bigger pot & finished cooking & eating them. 2) When i moved to Albany a couple of guys got transferred from Batavia. Of course, they were Bills fans so we'd get together on Sundays to watch Bills games together. One time I made chicken wings & somehow I totally messed them up. They weren't cooking right & by the time I took them out they were all soggy & when I added the sauce, the meat was falling off the bone. The guys called it chicken wing soup. After that I stopped cooking chicken wings & left it to the professionals.
  10. Anyone who still doesn't have Peacock needs to start a Go Fund Me page before Saturday.
  11. The Bills are back in Albany for the 1st season in years. They even have the pre & post game shows when it's a 1:00 game. The 4:25 games don't have the postgame show because it's too close to the Sunday Night Football broadcast. https://www.dailygazette.com/sports/buffalo-bills-radio-broadcasts-will-be-carried-in-capital-region-by-espn-radio-104-5/article_55fd59ae-cb9d-5c1e-a74e-5a584ff6e2b0.html Buffalo Bills fans will be able to listen to the team’s games in the Capital Region. Townsquare Media announced Friday that ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team (WTMM) will carry the team’s games this season. When there are conflicts, the games will be moved to WPBZ-FM 103.9. “Our staff at 104.5 The Team is incredibly proud to announce our radio affiliation with the Buffalo Bills for the 2023 NFL season,” Dan Bahl, WTMM Brand Manager and PM Drive Co-Host, said in a press release. “The Bills are once again contenders to win the Super Bowl in 2023, and we are extremely excited to bring every minute of the action to Bills fans in the Capital Region.”
  12. I think he went all Josh McDaniels on a teammate who criticized the Bills. 😄
  13. That's where I go when the Bills aren't on home TV. They tore that building down & replaced it. The new building has individual booths (carrels) equipped with TVs so that I can turn the sound up while I watch the game. Fortunately, most of the games were on home TV, so I only had to go there twice this season.
  14. Back in the late 1980s when I first moved to Albany, Bills games would be on in Utica, but not Albany. I had a 5" battery TV & would drive west on Rt 20 until I was able to get the game in. I'd sit in my car & watch the game at a rest stop. One time the Bills were in Seattle for a 4PM game. I didn't like the idea of being alone in a dark rest area on Rt 20, so I drove 2/3 of the way to Utica, parked in a Thruway rest stop & watched the game in the parking lot. I was even able to go inside & get dinner at halftime. By the following season, I found the sports bars in Albany & never drove part way to Utica again.
  15. Midnight, right after the game. That was going to be my original plan before I caved & bought Peacock.
  16. It's so easy to get a good LT, just like it was to replace Howard Ballard at RT years ago. Just hit speed dial & get the next Jerry Crafts.
  17. Aaron Kromer deserves a lot of credit.
  18. I loved that game. The Steelers were favored & the 1st thing I did that week was drive to the casino & bet the Bills on the money line. When I saw the line my 1st thought was: Duck Hodges vs Josh Allen? Pittsburgh favored? They can't be serious! I made good money betting the Bills in futures & some games in 2019 because it took a while for the public to realize what a rising star the Bills had in Josh Allen. I caught on early because I was watching him play & not relying on stats.
  19. I tried NFL + last year for the Thursday night game & I thought it was ridiculous to have to watch a game on a phone. Unless they expanded the electronics that can be used for NFL +, the product is garbage. NFL + is not meant for old guys like me.
  20. Nope. Here's an example: Jim Haslett Haslett became the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator to start the 2006 season. On September 29, 2008 Haslett was named the interim head coach of the Rams after Scott Linehan was fired. The Rams gave Haslett an interim coach's contract, containing a clause that promised him the permanent head coach's job if the team won at least six games that season. Within a few weeks, this clause was nullified by the NFL, because it violated the league's "Rooney Rule".
  21. No. The whole reason for the interim tag is because you cannot hire a permanent head coach, coordinator, or GM who is not a minority, in season.
  22. It's on channel 2, not 7. That makes sense since Peacock is NBC. I confirmed this with WGRZ's schedule: https://www.wgrz.com/tv-listings Bills 13.5 road favorite.
  23. The difference is they didn't have an interim coach who had done a great job before they interviewed Tomlin (Who is a HOF coach and was obviously the right choice). The job was open and so were the minds of the Rooneys.
