Today I Learned, Early 2024 Edition
Albany,n.y. replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in Off the Wall
I once microwaved an egg sunny side up. When I put a fork on it & broke the yolk, the thing exploded. Egg on the kitchen ceiling & my ears were ringing from the explosion. -
Here was the morning guys reaction. I remember Schopp was down on Josh for years.

The same can be said for Zach Wilson, who can get hot occasionally. Funny how both got hot vs the Bills this season.

Leslie Frazier interviewing for Dolphins DC
Albany,n.y. replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Has anyone been able to stop Josh other than himself? When Josh has a bad game, it's rarely, if ever, because of the opponent's DC. -
Cleveland picked up a portion of Mayfield's salary when they traded him to Carolina. NE might get stuck doing the same thing. It's guaranteed, so that really hurts any trade value.

4th or 5th, based on the last 2 1st rounders traded. Mayfield:5th & Lance: 4th.

So will you be watching the Super Bowl this year or no?

Here's the only good news about KC back in the Super Bowl: If you hate Tom Brady, Mahomes is one step closer to dethroning him as the GOAT. -

It's actually just a tick under 10 grand when you add in the fees. When I thought the Bills were going to make it, I bought a round trip flight from Oakland to Las Vegas the day of the game. I had planned to fly into Oakland on the 9th & return to Albany on the 13th. I was going to have my sister drop me off for an 8:00-9:30 AM flight to Vegas & pick me up from a 10-11:30 PM flight after the game. It was the right idea since the flight options went up by about $200 and then sold out by last week, since the 49ers fans were thinking of doing the same thing. I ended cancelling the flight & up getting a credit that I can use towards a future flight. At least all I had done was bought the gameday flight. Last year I had to cancel flights, rental car, motel reservation, & parking. I was checking out ticket prices & the lowest after fees were in the $9-10k area. Now I won't be having a 10 grand credit card bill and will have saved around $11k. -
Meanwhile over at Russel Street Report (Ravens Fan Forum)

It was a general reply to both your & what you quoted about them running. Not really a direct reply to either one of you, more just expanding thoughts on the overall topic of both of them as runners. -

Mahomes & Reid are bundled.

Lamar has thrown 2 endzone INTs vs the Bills. The TJ Pick 6 in the playoffs & the 2022 game in Baltimore-both Bills victories. I was at the game in Baltimore & when the Ravens had 1st & goal around the 5 yard line I turned to a Ravens' fan & said "Even if you score here, we're still going to win the game" Shortly after, Poyer picked Lamar off in the endzone. Then Josh drove the Bills all the way down the field, ran out the clock & Bass kicked the winning FG. Then yesterday, another INT in the endzone, killing off 3 or 7 points and being a major factor in them losing the game. -

2 totally different styles due their size difference. Josh takes on tacklers and wants to bulldoze them over. Jackson is looking to avoid the tacklers & juke them out of their jocks. Both are very effective runners. -

Many of them were old Baltimore Colts fans who had their team ripped from them over a decade earlier & were starving for NFL football. They are hardly fake fans. -

CJ is knocking on the door & will be let in the room long before Lamar. -
I can see/hear it now. Announcer: Bill, it's 4th down. Bill (in monotone): It's on to the field goal. Announcer: Bill, would you go for it here? Bill (in monotone): It's on to the field goal.

Hamlin officially wins PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Albany,n.y. replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Baker Mayfield deserved it but since it would have been a PR nightmare not selecting Damar Hamlin, they gave the real comeback player of the year "Most Improved" even though it was more a comeback to where he was in 2020 than an improvement. He returned to a level from 3 seasons ago & started all the games, just like 2020. -
Two reasons: 1) Too many injuries 2) Andy Reid & Patrick Mahomes

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”

They do, but he's a TE. He's back this week & should be the difference on Sunday. -
Mix and match Allen/Mahomes and Reid/McDermott
Albany,n.y. replied to Lifefan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think of a different scenario. Instead of trading the pick, the Bills draft Mahomes. The next year Arizona drafts Josh Allen & they are not in the same conference. With the subtraction of Mahomes in KC and in Buffalo instead, and Allen in the NFC, plus the additional draft choices the Bills would have had in the 2018 draft, do the Bills have one or more Lombardis? Does Allen get Arizona to any Super Bowls? Every time KC knocks us out, I feel like we created the monster in KC with the 2017 trade. -
I did that once. I had a class that was too early in the morning for me to wake up for. I went to maybe 2 or 3 classes the whole semester. The day before the final I hadn't read any of the material (est at least 1,500 pages in the books) so I went to the library to read some of the books & quickly realized I was in big trouble. Fortunately, I saw a girl who was in the class & begged her to copy her notebook. It turned out she had great notes! I photocopied the notebook (lots of dimes to put into the copier) thanked her, gave her back her notebook, read the notes for about an hour. Took the final the next day & got a B or B+ on the exam.

Years ago the Bills tried a halfback pass on 4th down & failed. Some caller called WGR when Chuck "The Coach" Dickerson was doing the postgame show and called the play "4th and stupid" The faked punt was "4th and stupid II"
