  1. That might explain some of his shaky play last season and even some early this season. Would like to see him match up better against Chandler Jones but he's definitely the best option at LT going forward. Get him re-signed.
  2. The guys gets it and is the guy going forward.
  3. Would make sense because he doesn't fit into the future with a Rex Ryan defense and the huge cap savings in 16 could be used to tie up Cordy Glenn and Stephon Gilmore long term. Can use the 16 draft to draft and develop a young guy that better fits the Rex system.
  4. This defense is just so disappointing
  5. The Patriots are 10-0 and have been beating the Bills for over a decade. That certainly isn't on Tyrod Taylor yet. His other loss was to a very well coached Giants team. He's only started 8 games. Let's see how he does the rest of the season and beyond. If he gets this team into the playoffs, he's got to get an extension and be the franchise QB. If not, he's played well enough to be the starter with some competition next season.
  6. The Bills can win with Tyrod Taylor. Maybe a guy in the mid to late rounds to develop as the #2 guy. Maybe Kaepernick in trade... The draft should be about getting some more young talent to develop on defense, O-line and possibly another playmaker at WR.
  7. He's 5-3 as a starter with two losses to the Patriots by one score. He isn't turning the ball over and the Bills offense is executing a conservative game plan. The Bills were a few plays away from winning last night. They certainly didn't lose because of him. Taylor can be a winning, playoff QB for the Bills. Is he the next Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or elite level QB?..no... but the Bills aren't asking him to do that either. It's normal to single out the QB in losses, but here it's not valid.
  8. Karlos Williams has been great so far. Big, fast guy and the Bills are using him perfectly. That stiff arm he had last night on the Jets DB was awesome.
  9. Great blocker and route runner who can make tough catches in traffic. The lack of speed really makes him a #3 or #4 in the NFL. To get re-signed, he'll need to beat out Hogan probably for that contract. The Bills need another receiver who can make plays after the catch in the draft or free agency going into 16.
  10. Incognito will be 33 next season and each time a team has invested long term in him, he has had an issue. Maybe just a 1 year extension.
  11. No Tyrod is proving each week he is the guy going forward. If they could restructure his deal, C.Kaepernick would be a great third guy to add to the mix as a prospect.
  12. He's a playmaker that the defensive scheme needs to utilize more. At some point he'll play smart...maybe after he has a few more sacks and is less frustrated. With that said, his game is to play with wreckless abandon so have to live with some bonehead plays from time to time.
  13. Besides the big plays, Hughes has looked lost in this scheme. Going back to when Pettine was here, he was a pass rush specialist and that's probably what he should be on this team with Rex's scheme. He lost edge a few times yesterday for some big plays. Mario doesn't look explosive off the edge in this defense and they even had him rushing inside yesterday. Not sure if he's lost a step or he can't find a role he's comfortable with here. No doubt that asking Dareus to be two gap run stuffer isn't fully utilizing his $100 million contract. The Dolphins let Suh loose it looks like and Rex should do the same for Dareus. The linebackers have not looked as good this year. All in all, it looks like the Bills have tied up significant money in the D-Line and Rex's scheme doesn't cut them loose to be playmakers and show they deserve that money. This scheme allows guys like Darby and Gilmore to shine. This defense looked lost until Hughes had that sack fumble yesterday. Not good...
  14. The Browns, 49ers and possibly Titans will want to unload aging players with big salaries. The Bills don't have a lot of cap space in 15 and less going forward to take on these big numbers under the cap. Not to mention, the Bills don't have any glaring holes, just some players underperforming or injured.
  15. He is really a quieter version of Rex
  16. Was definitely hard on EJ but his play did probably cost the Bills the game. He made some awesome throws as the game went along but the damage was already done. Thought he missed on Duke Williams. He couldn't get Yeldon to the ground on several different plays that went for big yards and run support is his greatest strength. Duke is a good special team player at this point. The D misses A.Williams.
  17. This just proves that Sammy Watkins could care less about how many wins the Bills have or the Bills franchise as a whole. It's all about him getting stats and looking good. The minute people aren't saying how great he is or being wowed by some youtube video of him at practice then he says something stupid like this. He needs to recognize that he's in a production business and he just mouthed off to his clients. There is no point in having a "Ferrari" if its always in the garage. The "little" people/fans that he put down probably get paid to work per hour/week/job. The Bills have been cutting checks for him to crack jokes on the sidelines while his team loses to one of the worst teams in the league. I have a feeling if Sammy got paid per game or practice, he'd be out there a lot more. Is this rock bottom for the Bills now?? If the Bills could get wins for talk then they'd be undefeated. Who is going to be the guy in the building to put an arm around Sammy and tell him to cut the crap?
  18. I think he's had a few sacks taken away by penalty though too. Thought the hold was more blatant live than on that video. Regardless, the refs have been very bad to the Bills all year.
  19. The Jets games might be better matchups than people think. Just remember back to Fitz/Chan vs Rex in the past. We were on the wrong side of it then and have to think we're on the right side now if Rex can get this team together. Maybe the Bills sweep them. If they do, the Eagles, Redskins and Cowboys games might look different too. It's a long season and far from over but the Bills must respond well over the next three games.
  20. Everyone would have been better off if Marrone would have stayed at Syracuse in the first place. The SU program might be competitive in the ACC right now and recruiting better. Who knows what might have happened if a different Head Coach and offensive coordinator would have walked in to a young and talented team a few years ago. They might be in year three with continuity.
  21. Carr is probably the best QB in his division already and will be for some time to come.
  22. The next three games after the bye will either re-insert the Bills into the division and playoff race or end the season. This team has been frustrating to watch and very inconsistent in most ways but they have been resilient most of the year. I have a feeling they will be ready to play and get two of the next three division games after the bye. -Tyrod will probably play himself into being the franchise QB by season end and get a new deal. -Having McKelvin, A.Williams and K.Williams back will help the defense find itself. Bad weather games will help the Bills on both sides of the ball. -All of the brash talk might die down and some of the stupid penalties might be cut down given how bad it's gotten here going into a long bye week. Reality is they will probably be in the hunt into the final weeks for a wildcard with the Jets, Steelers and possibly the Raiders and Chargers. Yesterday was the most disappointing loss in a few years but there is plenty of reason to believe they will come out strong after the bye and compete right until the end for a playoff spot.
  23. This team is "underachieving" because of the perceived amount of talent it had put together, which was Whaley. The problem is not lack of talent here. The last several first round picks of Dareus, Gilmore, Manuel and Watkins still needs to play out but we do know that Dareus and Gilmore are very good players. Sammy has talent, no one is denying that, he just needs to get on the field. Either way, this probably is the best stretch of first round picks since the mid 90s for the Bills as far as NFL production. First round picks get all of the press but teams are built on the second and even third days of the draft. Whaley and Nix before him have been pretty good at gathering talent. Darby, J.Miller, K.Williams this season but guys like K.Alonso, R.Woods, C.Glenn, P.Brown, S.Henderson, Bradham, A.Williams and Searcy are all starters in the league and guys like Easley, R.Brooks, D.Williams, Kouandjio, R.Johnson and Gragg have all contributed being solid depth and on special teams. Any talk of Whaley being fired makes no sense. He has done an excellent job, jointly with Buddy Nix, in building a talented team over the last 5 years. With that said, he finds talent and the coach picks players to play. The line must be clear and not sure how clear its been in recent years.
