  1. Good Signing
  2. If Watson is there at 10, have to take him. If not, guys like Peppers, A.Jackson or S.Thomas would be a needed defensive playmaker there. Zay Jones in rd 2 would be great. He might not be there. If not, maybe DeMarcus Walker (DE-FSU) or guys like M.Adams (DT-Aub) and C.Godwin (WR-PSU). If they don't get a defensive playmaker in the 1st rd then the 3rd Rd would probably a good spot to get a value player here. Guys like D.King (Iowa), Awuzie (Colorado), R.Douglas (WVU), C.Harris (Mizz), T.Basham (Ohio) or A.Walker (Northwestern) could work. In the later rounds there could still be some good secondary players available like X.Woods (S-La Tech), T.Thompson(S-Colorado), J.Cutrer (CB-MTSU), M.White (CB-FSU), J.Johnson (S-Clem) and a couple of LBs like J.Evans (Oklahoma) or B.Ellis (Arkansas). Maybe special teamers with upsides like C.Henderson (WR-La Tech) or K. Whitfield (WR-FSU).
  3. Watson is the QB in this draft and isn't close. He's probably the best prospect at QB since J.Winston. His tools are good but his best characteristic is he's a winner. He has a good chance to be a winner in the NFL. Mahomes, Webb, Kelly and Kizer are all guys with exciting skill sets but haven't won a lot. They could develop into productive QBs but if history is any indicator, they won't win near as many games as Watson. Trubisky is interesting because of the stats he put up and how he didn't turn the ball over. He could be a good player down the road but I'm not sure how much better of a team UNC was with him at QB in 2016 than they were with Williams in 15.
  4. Sounds like a solid plan... On the FA, maybe the Bills could make a run at J.Cutler (discounted 2 yr heavy incentive deal) and get him to help make a run at A.Jeffery. If not possible, don't mind Hoyer. Also, have to try to get R.Wagner for that money but settle for Remmers if not able to get it done. Have to imagine K.Williams will come back on a restructured, 1 year deal. In the draft...getting Watson at 10 would be great. If not available, just have to take the highest rated D-Linemen or offensive playmaker and do the same in the 2nd round. In the 3rd round, can take a really good safety/DB like Xavier Woods (La Tech), Desmond King (Iowa) or John Johnson (BC).
  5. Not sure he's as big as Thompson or Davis but definitely as athletic (or more). Also not the tackler they are. He probably fits best as a safety who can move around and do a little of everything for someone like the Steelers or Titans. If he somehow got to the 2nd round when the Bills pick then have to take him there and develop him into a playmaker in this scheme.
  6. Guys like X.Woods (La Tech), N.Gerry (Nebraska), J.Johnson (BC), D.King (Iowa) or L.Jerome (St Francis) could all be immediate contributors at safety in the 3rd to 5th round. They could all fit and there are probably another group of players available later in the draft with potential also. No need to spend big money for a safety for this defense. Investing in the front 7 and playmakers for the offense would be more probable in the early rounds of the draft.
  7. Wagner would be an upgrade but has to be the right price (<$5m/yr). Remmers is a good option too and should be cheaper. Have to upgrade RT.
  8. I'm sorry for your loss. Thoughts and Prayers
  9. Berry is a great player but probably would have fit better on a Rex defense. He's going to get paid big money somewhere.
  10. I am not a Jay Cutler fan but he has had his most success in a system like this. If he's cut then he might come cheap. He could also bring Alshon Jeffery with him as a FA. (let Woods walk) Could sign Rick Wagner at RT from the Ravens and walk away from S.Henderson and Mills. Try to re-sign Z.Brown but could also look at a Jelani Jenkins or AJ Klein for WLB in Free agency. Let Gilmore go get paid somewhere. In the draft could get guys like Solomon Thomas (DE-Stanford) in the 1st and Montravious Adams (DT-Auburn) in the 2nd. Try and grab a guy like Desmond King (DB-Iowa) in the 3rd. Combine these three young guys with the talent already on the D and could look pretty good. If Cutler was on a 1 or 2 year deal he would play his best and would allow Cardale Jones to continue to develop behind the scenes for the future. Could easily be a playoff contender with a team like this so reload.
  11. Trubisky is interesting but he could be a system QB and might have the same adjustment problems that Goff has had. Definitely careful with the ball and accurate. Mahomes seems to be a gunslinger like Fitz in a spread system with a similar skill-set. You're right he probably has more tools. Still he will need time to develop and become more consistent. Evans might be interesting as a less talented Cam Newton type project. Let me know what you think. Don't know if Watson is MJ like his coach said but he is very poised, talented and plays his best when the lights are bright. He took his program to the next level and is a winner. The way he responded to the beating he took against in the 1st half against Alabama last month showed what he's made of. Whatever team he goes to will be better because he's there.
  12. Good analysis. Watson is the best QB in this draft and its not close. Mahomes reminds me of Fitzpatrick. Any analysis on Evans from VT?
  13. The Bills need to win Sunday against the Steelers and the remaining 3 games after that. If that happens, they will probably sneak into the playoffs and this won't even be a decision...The Bills will pick up the option. If they don't, for whatever reason, it's likely someone else will sign him for similar money.
  14. Fitzpatrick, Tannehill, Browns QB (Kessler?), Mariota, Bortles, Osweiler, Broncos QB (Lynch), Bradford, Cutler, Goff, 49ers QB (Kaepernick) are not as good as Taylor. I'd take him over Carson Palmer and Wentz also. He deserves to be paid top 20 but no better...
  15. It is the defense.... In this scheme, the secondary either becomes stars or it doesn't work. Unfortunately, corner and safety play has been bad all year. All secondary positions need to be improved to continue to want to play this scheme. When Rex had Revis and Cromartie, he went to the AFC Championship with Sanchez. The Ravens had Ed Reed and Chris McAlister when they won the superbowl with Trent Dilfer. The Bills don't have those kind of players today.
  16. This team is built to win with defense, a strong run game and taking care of the ball. The QB is doing his job. The big let down has been the defense and mainly the scheme/secondary issues. The thing is though, he hasn't made enough plays when the game is on the line. QBs who make those plays win their team 3-4 more games/year and Tyrod hasn't done that so far in two seasons. Have to keep Tyrod because he is a top 20QB and there are no other realistic options that are better in FA/trade/on the roster today. With that said, if DeShaun Watson is there when the Bills pick, have to take him. Figure out the cap stuff later and play the best player at QB in 2017+.
  17. The secondary is the weak link on D. In this kind of defense the Bills are playing, shutdown corners and coverage safeties are needed and the Bills don't have that. Gilmore is the most disappointing player this season by far. During the bye week, maybe they should follow the offenses lead and redesign to the personnel strengths. Dareus, Hughes, K.Williams, Bryant, Z.Brown and Alexander are the best players and all are in the front 7. Maybe play more coverage and ask these guys to make plays and win matchups. After the bye week, who's going to cover AJ Green?
  18. Have a feeling he'll play much better in the second half of the season
  19. Better with more personnel that fits system.
  20. He is a solid reserve linebacker and special teamer. Probably an average to below average starter. Someone will pay him to be a starter but the Bills should look to upgrade. If he'll stay for reserve/special teamer kind of money that would be great.
  21. It is recoverable and will be better next season no doubt. It's just unfortunate that Rex didn't let the players dictate the style rather than his personality. Have to build around Gilmore, Dareus, Hughes, Darby and hopefully A. Williams. Vets like K.Williams, C.Graham and M.Lawson hopefully can be solid for another season or two too while young guys develop. Have to get better at LB and develop young guys at S and DL.
  22. Maybe the Bucs...fits the D scheme and they have the cap. Jags might be a fit too. His days of big contracts with guaranteed money are probably over though.
  23. Get his cap number more reasonable and he can be solid depth at both corner and safety along with maybe their best option at punt returner despite his recent adventures.
  24. That cheap shot OBJ took on Norman was awful. The NFL spends all of this time suspending/fining defenders for hitting receivers/QBs hard on bang bang plays and this gets a 1 game suspension? He wanted to knock Norman out or at least damage him. That's not right. What if a DE came off the edge and hit Brady like that? Would that get a 1 game suspension? Awful
