  1. Would be a great selection in the 2nd round.
  2. It's Watson and then everybody else.
  3. Mack would be a steal in the 5th round. Dayes, Gallman or Williams would fit too.
  4. Shaq Thompson was a lot more productive than Duke Riley and affected the game in many more ways. Jabril Peppers has some similarities because of the versatility and ways he affects the game. Jordan Evans from Oklahoma seems like a good fit with his athleticism and ball skills. He was very productive in college. Not sure why he wasn't invited to the combine. Good player.
  5. Would be a solid 3rd round pick and good fit.
  6. Gilmore is a good player but not worth the money the Pats paid him. Woods is an average #2WR at best and Z.Brown is a good player when healthy but most teams seem hesitant to give a long term deal for a reason. These three guys are not the difference between 5-11 and 11-5. The Bills need Marcell Dareus, Jerry Hughes, Sammy Watkins, LeSean McCoy and Cordy Glenn to be productive in addition to some young guys developing like S.Lawson, Ragland and Washington. Put that together with a solid draft this year and better coaching/player development then the Bills can certainly be as good or better than they've been in recent years with the players lost.
  7. Both McDermott and Frazier have been going against Drew Brees and the Saints in the NFC South for years. Like the Falcons and Seahawks have been in the past two superbowl games with the Patriots, have to expect a mixture of tight man coverage with some other looks and strong front 4 pressure. It seems like the key will be if the Bills can tackle better after the catch. Based on the Panthers and Bucs last season, have to expect the Bills will improve with the new staff and some personnel moves.
  8. I bet he likes Webb. He has a strong arm and deep ball.
  9. Mahomes has a lot of talent and upside. Also has bloodlines and was All Academic Team. Favre is a great comparison but like Favre when he came out, there is a lot of work to do to develop Mahomes into the player he could be. It took 2-3 years with Favre and that's why the 2nd round was a good fit for him. Aaron Rodgers took about the same amount of time and although he was at 24, it was essentially like a 2nd round pick to the Packers. Mahomes at 44 or even trading up into the beginning of the 2nd round is a solid pick if unable to get Watson in rd 1.
  10. Grace might be a guy that could be developed into a weakside LB in this defense though. Probably undrafted because of off-field issues. It was reported he ran a sub 4.5 40 at Miami a year or two ago.
  11. Watson: 1. He's a winner. Every place he's gone, he's won at the highest level. 2. He's leader. He's been the unquestioned leader every place he's been. The Clemson program was handed to him and he delivered. If you watch him for 5 minutes, you can see and feel his presence. His teammates see and feel the same thing. 3. He's intelligent: Graduated in 3 years. Shown in games and workouts that he's capable of making quick decisions with intelligence. 4. He's a gamer: His best games have always been when the lights are the brightest. He brings his A game. 5. He's talented: He checks all the boxes with size, arm strength, touch and accuracy to all levels of the field in addition to above average athletic ability. Summary: This is a future franchise QB that the Bills can build their team around long term. These don't come around too often so the Bills need to make sure they get him. Have to understand that he is a totally different prospect from EJ. The main differences being accuracy, winning and competitive spirit. EJ was a project that the Bills stretched for when they couldn't trade down further. Watson is a future star and may be the best player in the draft.
  12. Want: DeShaun Watson Dark Horse: Mahomes/J.Peppers Think: Watson With the exception of EJ, the Bills (whaley) have drafted talented players in the 1st round over the last 5-6 years. I expect they'll do the same here with a talented, high character guy who the Bills can build the team around long term. Round 2 might be a talented guy that maybe was a little less productive and not quite as much a character guy.
  13. Looks like he has solid arm strength, the ball comes out on time and as accurate as QB in this draft. Can move too. 2nd rd might be high for him but he definitely has the potential to be a solid #2 and potentially a #1QB.
  14. Hard to see the Bills taking a top DB in the 1st 2 rounds. C.Awuzie (Colorado) is versatile and is always around the ball. He is a great athlete and willing tackler. Getting him in the 3rd round would be good value probably. Another guy here might be Desmond King from Iowa. Later in the draft, guys like N.Hairston (Temple), J.Cutrer (MTSU), J.Toccho (NCState), T.Thompson (Colorado), J.Grace (Miami) or A.Conner (Miss) would be versatile depth and special teams contributors. David Jones (Richmond) has been getting a lot of attention and could be versatile at safety/returner.
  15. Zay Jones but he'll go before the 3rd. So will Chris Godwin probably. Isiah Ford isn't a huge WR but is known for his body control and making great catches down the field. Malachi Dupre is tall and has upside. Others like Josh Malone (trouble against press coverage), Bug Howard, Josh Reynolds, Darboh (Hands?), Amba Etta Tawo, J.Smith Schuster could all be options here. Sleepers like Golladay, Robert Davis, Jerome Lane, J.Robinette, Q.Ayebedejo could all be interesting later in the draft.
  16. Has to be MikeWilliams or Maybin. Both guys needed to be good players for those teams and were huge disappointments. EJ and Losman hurt too.
  17. Looking at the Pats moves, they are unusually short term and not necessarily upgrades. TE: Dwayne Allen is a good player but not an upgrade to Martellus Bennett. WR: Cooks will stretch the field better than any WR but it's clear that Gronk has long term injury issues and may never be able to be the dynamic player he was before. Pass Rush: Kony Ealy on a 1 yr prove it deal is not an upgrade to Chris Long/J.Sheard. Their best pass rusher will continue to be Flowers. CB: Gilmore is an upgrade to L.Ryan and a solid #1 CB. If they let Butler walk in the near future then this is a downgrade in coverage because Butler could cover just about anyone for the Patriots and they will find out that Gilmore is a good player but not that kind of player. What is unusual for them is that they have a lot of key players with contracts coming up in the next two seasons. These moves look almost like a desperate attempt to give Brady 1 more shot after they realized how lucky they got to beat the Seahawks and Falcons in their last two superbowl wins. Brady may have told them he has 1-2 seasons left max. The Bills are at a completely different stage and that is building a foundation for consistent future success. They aren't 1-2 players away in free agency but more like 1-2 drafts and structural changes to being competitive in a playoff race. Let's not compare apples and oranges. The Patriots have earned respect obviously but let's not just automatically assume that everything they do will have the same success they have had in the past either. They really have never made this many splashes in FA in the Belichick era.
  18. Foster would look real good at LB in this defense. Howard would be a great pick.
  19. If Watson isn't there would be ok with Howard or Z.Jones at 10
  20. Zay Jones then M.Williams at WR... If Watson isn't there at 10 then could take OJ Howard or Z.Jones. Either one would be a solid #2 playmaker in the passing game for this offense.
  21. Had a great combine and showed some versatility in college. Like a lot of the top 10-15 CBs in the draft, he needs to be developed but has a lot of upside.
  22. Agreed
  23. Let's trust the process... The Biggest thing is getting the key (highest paid) players like Dareus, J.Hughes and S.Watkins to be as productive as they should be. The QB is retained and he won't lose the Bills any games in the next two seasons. Adding more highly paid players to an already tight cap situation makes no sense now. Getting rid of overvalued players like C.Graham and unfortunately A.Williams made sense. Not overpaying to keep players like Gilmore, R.Woods or Goodwin was smart, especially because they wouldn't be key to the schemes being implemented by the new coaches. Now we have to expect they'll get the best out of some key young talent like S.Lawson, Kouiandijo, Ragland, A.Washington, Darby, Seymour and add 4-5 productive players with upside in the draft that can be developed into the backbone for future success. The Patriots made some splashes but it looks like Brady is setting a timetable for his retirement and there is a design out there for success against the Patriots now from the Falcons and Seahawks. None of the players they've added here improve their ability to win against those teams or matchups. Look at what Cooks did against the Falcons last year. There is a reason the Saints wanted to unload him.
  24. DL Depth- P.Solial, F.Alexander, C.Bryant, W.Horton CB/Nickel- J.Robinson, Verner, Djoun Smith, L.McFadden A 1-2 yr deal with M.Floyd or C.Patterson. Have to get the #2 playmaker in the draft for the passing game though.
