  1. I must concur. Some of the most likable owners in all of sports. So glad we have them.
  2. A true #1 WR would make this offense legit. Brown and Beasley are very solid, but they aren't true #1's or gamebreakers. If we added a true #1 to this offense, all kinds of great things would open up making Brown and Beasley almost unstoppable if defenses had to concentrate on a real #1. The Bills weren't all that great of a team 2 years ago when they made the playoffs. This year's team is legit, and could be very potent on offense if we go out and get some help. Benjamin was a PR move 2 years ago. It's time to make a real football move this time and have confidence we can actually make a run with a legit WR. Singletary will add much needed speed to the running game as well.
  3. I'm a MAC football fan too. At least, having graduated from Ball State I pay pretty good attention to it. I heard of Jackson and saw him play once or twice in college games. But watching him play with the Bills just shows how awful he actually is. It's painful. He's a specimen physically, but he even seems kind of out of sorts when he runs. Just awful and raw. I thought it would be fun to watch him create some excitement for late quarter preseason games, but it's really painful to watch. When he plays the entire last preseason game this season.......might it be his last NFL action? Very raw.
  4. Of course sacks matter. They matter the most. If the ball doesn't leave the QB's hand, it has no chance to be completed downfield and everything that could then result negatively from that completion. It's also a negative play for the offense. There's nothing better than that. Especially in key spots, or on key downs. The next thing, of course, is consistent pressure. Both are great to have. But the actual sack is the abrupt end to a play with zero damage inflicted by the offense. Franchise QB's can deal with, and still beat, consistent pressure. They can't beat laying on their backs with the ball still in their hands.
  5. As a lifetime Pirates fan, please join the 550,000 other fans last year, and stop going to Pirate games until Nutting sells the team. He's the biggest SOB in sports, and the only thing he understands is pocket book stuff. As tough as it may be to not visit the best ballpark in America, go see the Bucs on the road.
  6. What? I can't even say how much I disagree with almost everything you said here. Far flung location? Really? I'm an out of town season ticket holder for going on 20 years, and the current location, not being in a downtown area, is the best part of New Era Field. Downtown stadiums suck. The parking sucks. The tailgating sucks. The price gouging sucks. And the traffic patterns almost always suck. If you are within an hour drive of an NFL Stadium, you aren't far away. Period. The location isn't far flung, by any stretch of the imagination. The few local business part I can agree. Howvever, who cares? Have you ever been to downtown stadiums where all of the bars, shops, or whatever, that are adjacent to the venue are wall to wall people with nowhere to sit, or even move inside? They suck. The prices suck. The service sucks. Trying to pay your damn bill or eat, most of the time sucks. No thanks. Places like Indianapolis, Charlotte, etc all feel antiseptic and way too clean on Gameday. It's more of a going to a mall feel, than a football game. You can have that crap. The stadium location right now is terrific. The Bills are going to shoot themselves in the foot by going downtown, if they do. Downtown stadiums suck. The entire scene for a downtown stadium becomes antiseptic, dull, and everything becomes overpriced and fake. No thanks!
  7. For whatever it's worth...... Yeah, he isn't really from the sticks. He grew up in Petersburg, VA which is part of a tri-cities area that has about 70,000 people living there. Mostly a ghetto area, and rough athletic high school area with really good football and basketball. Couple that with living about 20 miles south of another 1.3 million people in the Richmond metro area, and he most likely isn't considered a country bumpkin.
  8. Fitz is a gamer. He plays all out every game. How could anyone not respect that. He's not the best QB in the league for sure, but he's had some spectacular moments and games. And at least he plays the game without fear. He's not a typical average QB that flames out being all conservative, check downish, and never goes for it. Fitz lights it up. Flails. And then burns out. Every single year. I'll take that over a Trent Edwards type QB any day. of the week On many days, Fitz was worth the ticket price paid. He also broke our hearts many times. Here's to you Fitz. Your career is fascinating......you are the modern day "Jason" and just keep surviving.
  9. They opened one in Richmond VA. It was awful. The food wasn't even close, the service sucked, and it was way too antiseptic. There were tons of Ex-NY'ers there when it opened. And they failed from the jump. It folded in less than a year. Can't even say how disappointed I was. Flat out terrible. Poor manager was walking around getting feedback on opening weekend and was getting blasted with negativity from almost everyone from the Buffalo area. We asked him if he had ever been to Buffalo, or even went up to see or train at the original, and he said no. Brutal.
  10. Are you friggin serious? They're tanking. In many different forms of tank, but they're tanking. The average teenager that reads the internet could put together a better offense. There is no way Beane is this stupid to actually be "trying". I'm actually giving him credit, while being pissed at the way they've done this. Yeah, I'm saying there's no way he's this stupid.
  11. I gotta call BS on this. We have no idea how good/bad Daboll is. The offensive roster is horrendous. Period. Anyone breathing oxygen before the season knew this immediately, outside of your typical 25% Chris Brown educated homer fan base segment of Bills fans. Beane has been a complete failure in this regard, except that Beane probably isn't a failure either. Because they are tanking. On purpose. Period. This is an atrocious group of offense players. Daboll has no chance with them as a unit. And Beane couldn't be this stupid as to think this roster was NFL Caliber. The only beef anyone can have this year, guessing that the team's philosophy is finishing last year's attempted tank, is that the way to groom a highly drafted quarterback probably isn't to gut all of his weapons and help. Other than that, this team has no chance. The Vikings have to be kicking themselves by losing to the Bills. Absolute horrendous loss.
  12. So what. Having a cast of Wideouts now that largely don't even belong in the NFL hasn't stopped Beane. 40 is nothing compared to the crap that trots out there every Sunday.
  13. That offense is coming around? That's almost as true as saying that Brandon Beane put this roster together with the intent to actually try to win games this year. Whether you are trolling or not, we are historically bad on offense.
  14. There wouldn't be anything wrong with offering him that opportunity. He could always come back next year if he plays another year.
  15. Pretty easy to me what I personally don't see. Their plan is assanine. #1 - They tried to tank last year, and that quick start, coupled with an absolute horrid year for the AFC put them in the playoffs. OK, no biggie. It was fun anyway. #2 - The plan this year was to finish the tank. Fine. Just say so. I've been a season ticket holder for almost 20 years. Don't play this dumb charade like they are trying. I can easily handle that they wanted this year to do the things you said above, which is the easy way out of things. They haven't done anything hard. The cut a bunch of people. That's the easiest part of their plan. #3 - The draft picks they have next year......great. They have a bunch of mid round picks. They usually don't amount to much. #4 - My biggest gripe. Their plan this year is flat out garbage. You don't draft a QB high like they did, and completely gut the offense around him. It's absolutely stupid. They knew, and didn't address, the WR corps at all. If anything, they got worse. That's inexcusable. Then, they pretty much did the exact same thing to the line in front of their new rookie QB. Granted, they had a couple of flukish things go against them in Richie and Wood, but still had time to address things. Not really sure why a relatively young Cordy Glenn was also run out of town. Next, they stand pat with a backfield of a couple of 30 plus year old RB's. Seems smart to me. If all of those draft picks we have next year are that impressive, McCoy should be out of here for a 4th or 5th. They botched the QB room, period. Even if they wanted Allen to sit this year, they had to figure at some point he would have to play once one of our other deer in the headlights guys (Peterman or McCarron when he was here) was going to get hurt. This is a NFL team that is seriously challenged in completing a downfield pass. In the year 2018, we can't score a TD in half the games we play. It's not about anything other than how this roster is constructed. And it's not constructed to help a rookie QB develop. Defense though........another story. Seems pretty logical. Not. I get they are tanking on purpose. Albeit, it might be the only team in NFL history trying their best to lose while already having their high priced rookie QB. So, what are we tanking for? A LT I guess. RT? WR? Who knows. I'm hoping they can't be this incredibly stupid. They have next year, and that's it. There's no more excuses after this year to address this putrid offensive roster. Clear space or not, there's no reason this roster is this bad. None. There's plenty out there that people "don't get". And rightfully so. I know someone like Chris Brown would probably tell us something different, and how rosy things are, but come on. There's reason to be somewhat concerned about their "process".
  16. None of these guys are above average with their new teams except Robert Woods. He's made a nice little career for himself.
  17. I'm not even sure Holmes would get picked in a YMCA Men's Flag League. He adds absolutely nothing to this team. Of course though, Benjamin probably wouldn't even be asked to play on a YMCA Men's Flag Team because he's so damn lazy. That leaves Zay, Foster and RuRu or whatever the other guy's name is. They'd actually be decent in a YMCA B Division or something.
  18. Jesus. Who gives a crap about how hard he throws the ball? I'm so sick of hearing about that. Can he go through his reads, make sound decisions on where the ball needs to go ahead of time, and get it there accurately. Emphasis on accuracy and decision making. If not, he's gonna suck. But hey, he's going to suck with a great arm. Who friggin cares.
  19. The fact that Oakland has Carr, Lynch and Cooper make them 10 steps ahead of us. They've played one super bowl contender and lost. And barely lost on the road to a divisional rival. They'll be fine. Denver is 2-0. Chances are that they may have already passed our total win total we will have this season. Denver is slightly above average, which is also light years ahead of us. Houston has a lot of talent all over the field. They too are light years ahead of us, and are at least trying to win. The Titans are the most overrated team in the league. And they might be one of our only legit chances at a win this season, other than maybe the Jets and/or Dolphins at home. The Bills are void of talent at every position on offense. And we have a couple of players on defense. We are going to get lit up the next two weeks, and that will make 4 blowouts in a row. That's when a player like Shady McCoy will start to become a problem. I hope they trade him. He doesn't deserve to play for a team that isn't trying to field a NFL team this season. We suck. It's OK to admit it. It's part of their process and how they think we become good. I happen to think it's a gutless approach, but they clearly are tanking, and tried to do the same last year as well. Last year bit them in the arse, and now we are stuck with Fatass Benjamin as a result. #Tank - 2nd Attempt
  20. Every single offensive position other than Allen at QB and maybe the LT. It's disgusting what the roster looks like, especially considering that they should give a rookie QB some talent around him so he won't be ruined. We don't need a WR. We need at two WRS. A #1 and a #2. Benjamin can go, and I can't figure out why the hell Holmes is ever on the field. He adds nothing. We need a RT, RG, C, LG for sure. We need a real TE, and let Croom be the #2. We need some running backs that are in their low to mid 20's and don't cost all that much. Shady should be traded before the deadline. The roster talent on the offensive side of the football, on this current team, is by far, the worst in the NFL. It doesn't even matter who gets hurt, because you are just plugging in some other schmuck that also sucks to take their place. Awful.
  21. Yep, it's actually sickening. I've never seen a franchise that has fans conditioned to think this way. Anyone with any kind of objectivity could see that this team was putrid when all positions of need were neglected and ignored this offseason. This coming off of a playoff year, in which the AFC was absolutely horrible. Think about it this way. The Bills could easily be the only team in the AFC that didn't get better. Easily the only team that didn't get better or at least stay the same. Jets - Better Dolphins - Better Pats - Still good. Pittsburgh - Still good Ravens - Better Browns - Better Bengals - Better Broncos - Better Oakland - Better KC - Better SD - Same/Decent Indy - Better Houston - Better Tenn - Same/Decent Jax - Better And we just gave up a year......and for what? Are we the first team in NFL history to tank a season for a Non-QB first overall pick next year, even though we still don't know what we have at QB? Garbage
  22. Yes you do. And so do I. For preseason games that are required. Even though I don't like this, anything is better than preseason garbage.
  23. And one more question. How exactly does the NFL maximize revenue from a new Buffalo stadium exactly? Usually the wow factors are the suite areas. That money belongs to the home team owners. So, that doesn't go to the NFL. That would be the Pegulas. If they are OK with their revenue stream currently, they don't need a new stadium. Or the bill that comes with it. So, how again, does the entire league benefit from a new stadium in Buffalo? The Pegulas would, IF, big IF, they could actually sell the suites at high dollar levels where the market probably can't support that. Other than that, per game ticket sales are chicken scratch in the grand scheme of things. That's basically what the owners share out of a stadium.
  24. The points you are making are laughable. New Era is Lambeau before it's renovation. Once again, there is no other seating in the NFL better than inside New Era. None. Period. The design of the stadium to watch football is king. So, of course, since Lambeau has been renovated, it should be better at this point. New Era goes through renovation, it'll be badass. And no, despite what ESPN or whoever tells you different, a renovation will not cost anywhere near new construction. Not even close. Put 500 million into New Era, and people will be pissing themselves in joy. The new concrete havens being built are awful. Baltimore absolutely blows. So does Carolina. Washington's is awful. A lot of people weren't enamored with Heinz Field either. It looks cool, but lost it's intimacy almost as soon as it opened. SF is awful. Two of the best stadiums to still watch football are KC and GB. Both were renovated. Dallas in on it's own planet. The rest pretty much are anti-septic and suck. That includes the new Giants and Jets stadium as well. Join KC and Lambeau, spend 500 million, and sit back and stay a real football town. And by the way, almost every study out there suggests that downtown stadiums do absolutely nothing to spur growth or comebacks. So, that's not even a point you can go with either.
  25. I've been to, and worked at, almost every stadium in the NFL, and I think the world of our stadium. Whoever the architect was that designed it, was ahead of their time in what was probably the late 60s and early 70s. The seating, is by far, the best in the NFL. The layout of upper deck seating as to not create nosebleeds in the endzones, the way the lower bowl is constructed for sightlines......bar none.....the best in the NFL. Not second, third, fourth or top ten. The best. For a no frills town about football, the economy of Western NY, lack of ripoff PSL's. and how good the design is for football at New Era......there is almost absolutely no reason, none, for a new stadium in Buffalo. That obviously includes also inludes tailgating and parking. By far, also the best in the league. A close second for parking is KC, but even at that, in Buffalo, the local residents are able to somewhat keep the Bills lots in check by offering close parking at lower prices. There's not a good reason for a new stadium in Buffalo. Period.
