I mean who doesn’t? I’m pretty sure he’d gone. He turned into a solid player but he is going to get completely overpaid. He isn’t a game changer but I’d like him back if the price is right.

Cody Ford fined over 28k for illegal blind side block

I hate crying about the refs and thinking there is some silly conspiracy against the Bills but that was an awful call. Football is the greatest sport in the world and the nfl is run by morons. -
Mike Mularkey retires from coaching
C.Biscuit97 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think anyone called him in a loser in this thread. He probably could have gotten a job somewhere but it’s not like he’s a super in demand candidate. I think every team that has fired him improves after he leaves. -

My ex wife retired from our marriage. -
The Saturday at 4:30 time slot are absolutely amazing. I had 2 of the best times of my life watching the Texans and Pats game. I would love to have all games at that time slot. With no college football, it is a prime time slot. Also, as much as the ending sucked, it was just a super fun game to watch.

Allen slammed on ESPN
C.Biscuit97 replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Eli SBs were complete flukes. Teams lucky to make the playoffs and just pull games out of their butts. It was the most insane run of luck ever. and Allen is going to be due a major contract in a few years that totally changes this team. For the all the cap room we have, it will go pretty fast. I just want to us to have a guy that can carry us like Wilson, rather than be along for the ride like Flacco. -
The Rooney Rule (still) isn’t working?

Fair but looking back, it’s absolutely insane. What did MT do better than Watson? He started one year in college. What could you point to saying he was definitely a better prospect? And for the record, I was all about Watson and Mahomes. Never got the MT love. I should be the Bears GM. -
Allen slammed on ESPN

I agree. I just worry Allen is always going to be a roller coaster. Definitely not boring but as early as it is in his career, the SB window is already narrowing. Defense has carried this team all year. I don’t disagree that part of the issue is McDermott’s philosophy but there were plenty of times the offense could have ended this game. -

I think this is the worst point of all the points you have made in this thread (you’ve made a bunch of good ones). The thought was that AA weren’t smart enough to be qbs and should play other positions. That’s why people took the Polian Lamar received stuff a certain way (I think it was more of Polian being a stubborn old dude than a racist). cornerbacks are a position mainly based on pure athleticism. If you are an elite athlete, That’s what matters most. There are a lot more factors that go into a exalting a qb than cb. Looking back, it’s absolutely insane that a one year “wonder” like Mitchell T went ahead of an all time great player in Watson and a freak talent like Mahomes. There isn’t any truth in this? Why did Matt Nagy who wasn’t the Chiefs playcaller either get a job yet EB who oversaw a record breaking one not get one? i do understand that it is annoying how it can be that race works it’s way into the conversation but there are some bad optics. -

But that goes to the larger point. Blacks weren’t trusted to be qbs back in the day. Teams were nervous to have them as the face of the franchise. Again, while I think it’s more of the buddy network of knowing the right people, could that be the same with head coaches? and I’m just nit picking for the sake of discussion. Actually kinda proud of these board for having a very civil conversation haha. -

I think this is a great point. Andy Reid’s former crackhead son is coaching in the nfl. Todd Haley was a college golfer whose dad worked with the Steelers. Belichick’s weirdo son. meanwhile, you guys grinding at lower levels who can’t get a sniff at a nfl job yet the same failures get passed around. I mean when your sport is something like 70% black and you have like 3% head coaches in the nfl and college, it’s not a good look. But I don’t know the answer. Maybe stop giving scrub coaches like Pat Shurmur multiple chances and trying someone new. -
I feel like that would be a future qb controversy but I would take him. He’s not close to as bad as he is made out to be.

I really thought you had to catch it and take a knee. But I didn’t lose sleep over this for a second. It is kinda embarrassing to cry about such a stupid play. There were like 20 other plays that could have been made to change the game.

Does any fanbase make more excuses for sub par qb play that bills fans? Maybe the Browns and Bears? I would venture to guess in the last 20 years, we might have the worst passing offense in the nfl.

Allen slammed on ESPN
C.Biscuit97 replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect, this is what critics of Allen get bothered by. He gets so many passes (no pun intended). We scored a touchdown on our opening drive and didn’t get another one all day. Our defense shut down a really good qb for 3/4 of the game and just got worn out. We struggle to win games if Our defense gives up 17+ points. again, I love Allen’s heart and saw some improvement. But he is still the 32nd ranked passer in completion %. That’s not good enough. I do agree the talent needs to get better but folks need to act like Allen was carrying this team. He wasn’t. A lot of starting qbs would have done well on this team. good news is he has all the talent in the world. But he is a great situation with the defense he has. We scored 6 points in the second half. Stop trying to make it look like it was the defense’s fault. the defense was the reason why Allen and the offense, after going in terrible droughts for periods of times all season, had the chance to win games late. The defense was the MVP of this team and it wasn’t close. -

Good post and I don’t realize have any real issues without you posted. It’s a really tricky issue all the way around. The NFL is awful with its buddy-buddy system. If you don’t know the right people, you aren’t getting a shot to coach in the league. It’s a league filled with the sons of previous coaches or guys with the right friends. but I’m not going to pretend I know the solution. But I still think be given a chance for the interview does matter. As with Tomlin, sometimes you can blow away them in an interview. But guys just aren’t being given chances. -
Tua declares for the draft; do you want Miami to take him?
C.Biscuit97 replied to krf139's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s so hard to tell because it’s Alabama. He was far and away the best qb they have had during their run. But a lot guys would be monsters there. But he does have throws that seem Steve Young like. So no, I’d rather not risk Miami getting a guy who might have gone number 1 overall if not injured. I don’t get the Haskins hate. Washington is completely garbage and he took some positive steps later in the season. -

And that’s all we can hope for! I feel he will always be the guy capable of making some of the best plays of any player in the nfl and then making some of the worst ones. but it was a fun season and he certainly was a part of it. I am genuinely sad it is over. -

If you can ball, you can ball. Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA. That’s why sports are great. But it doesn’t work like that for coaching. Par Shurmur went 9-23 (28%) in 2 seasons with the Browns. He got hired and fired by the Giants. Leslie Frazier went 21-32-1 (39.8%) and had one playoff berth with the Vikings. He has oversaw a top 5 defense the last 2 years. How many coaching jobs has he been mentioned for? Why is Daboll getting looks for being a far below average OC his entire nfl career. again, I don’t think it is solely race based but something isn’t adding up. -
Tom brady not retiring according to himself
C.Biscuit97 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I agree with this, have we ever had a qb who had 4,000 yards and 24 tds as Brady declined too this year?
