NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well they can then ride the plane to KC with the Bills for the following weeks game. -
Poyer had the first Int?? Thought it was a lineman??

The announcers said that Allen told them, he wasn't feeling back to normal till Friday. If it took till Friday before he felt he was normal, likely internally he and many others still haven't 100% recovered completely from last weeks sauna but seem ok. Is good to pull this one out, with all the injuries, assuming next week they win shorthanded at home, even with a loss in KC, that leaves them at 4-2 and have the bye. After the bye White could be back and many of these minor nicks should be back to normal.

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

Wasn't that easy to do either when the 1st down maker was inside the one. Didn't leave much room for error -

Who are the best coaches in NFL History?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll go out on a limb and say most people posting on this board weren't old enough to follow or understand football when Paul Brown was at his peak in the 50's or so, myself included. But from things I've read, he probably should be at the top of the list as far as he actual coaching part of the game. For similar reasons I'd elevate Bill Walsh closer to the top. IMO Brown and Walsh are the only two names on the list where people talk other coaches following their systems. -
Dolphins Fans Reactions to Tua’s Injury
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
So I wonder was it a case where the independent doctor is examining during the Bills game, but meanwhile the Miami doctors and trainers are telling him, "no it's his back, it's been bothering him all week" Tua, maybe partially being in a concussed confused state and the typical professional athlete mentality of never wanting to come out, confirmed, yeah it's my back. The one thing I have not seen mentioned anywhere, was Tua on the injury report going into Bills game for a back issue? If not then the Dolphins would at a minimum be in trouble for not reporting an injury. -
Dolphins Fans Reactions to Tua’s Injury

And don't forget the word fans is short for fanatic. And certainly all of us who post on any team message board 12 months of the year, six of which there's no season going on, fits that bill. You posted a very reasonable and accurate assessment, do you think Bills fans would react any differently. Other than a few posters here who have a bone to pick with Bills front office and coaches. -
Tua has a Charity - Let's Give It A Boost!!!

Seems players all have this superman mentality that they will overcome all. Plus I'm sure the fear goes through all of them that if they sit out, they may never get their job back. So they will do everything they can to hide it. Does that mean he's not to blame for it, certainly not. But in most cases it seems players won't report it. I supose to if you had a concussion, you're not exactly thinking right to start with. -
Dolphins @ Bengals - TNF Game Thread
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
With all the running around Allen does, there's always talk of him getting hurt and that's what everyone worries about. Looking at the way Tua was flung down, not sure I've ever seen such a violent, but easy take down of a player. Tua was flung down like a rag doll. Do wonder if given Allen's size and strength, could he ever be flung down like that? Would think it would be hard for someone to do. Could see a violent blind side hit, but not being flung down. -
NFL TV Schedule and Maps: Week 4, 2022

As George Jefferson would say "We're moving on up!" as most of country is getting Bills Ravens game! -
As long as you don't mind losing a TO as the likelihood of the call being over turned is low. If you take your rose colored Bills fan glasses off you'd realize there isn't clear evidence to over turn the call. If it had been called a catch to start with likely that too would not have been over turned. IMO watching it live I didn't think it was a catch at all.

He was injured signing his contract.

Yeah I was shocked when they passed. Thinking wow, we have a real shot now, punting from their own end zone. Likely Bills would get the ball around 50 yard line with about 1:40 left, we're in good shape. Then the safety happened which made a FG would win it, but lengthened the field a fair amount. I'm guessing Miami called what they felt was a real safe pass play. Bills would be figuring run play so good likelihood it woks, at a minimum gain a few yards, maybe break it open enough for 1st down and run out the clock. But one of the Bills deflected the pass.

Nice of you to just easily forget he was believe 6-0 the year prior. Just like this thread, can always count on you to find someone who bashes the Bills coaching or cherry picks stats to say "See I'm right!" -
Cowherd killing Bills coaching in his monologue
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice to cherry picks stats! There's another whole thread on this, believe it states how McD is 1-6 is or 0-7 since last year?? Terrible in close games since last year! Yeah OK, but what about the year prior when they were like 6-0 Added all up McD is around .500 in close games, not great, but also not terrible. But easy to find stats to support a position. As the old saying goes: "Figures don't lie, but liars figure!" -
As long as you don't mind 1/2 hour half time. With ll the communications equipment connected to the sides, phones, exercise equipment, medical and training stuff to be moved once the sides are determined. Would need to happen all year, at every game, not just in hot or cold games. Yes it's the obvious answer, but likely not practical
-
Believe the rules are you need to provide the same equipment to both sides, fans for heat, or heated benches in cold weather, but would be rather difficult to dictate visiting team can't be in sun. Only so many ways you can build/orient a stadium. Not that the NFL cares much about fans but placing a tent or something on the sidelines would not do much for fans sight lines and wouldn't look very good on TV either. Recall many years ago in Minn, Bud Grant was the coach and he would not put heated benches on the field for both teams as felt Vikings were used to playing in cold other team wasn't so game them big advantage. Eventually when a player dies in a game from heat, then they may change the scheduling so games like this are played in north early and south late. But only so much can be done there too.

I do wonder if part of the issue today with Allen was he went into the game with the mindset that with all the injuries, mostly on defense, he needed to win the game himself and was too hyped up. Seems like that has happened prior in games where he starts throwing passes into the ground, he's over excited. That said he kept us in the game till the end and had a good shot to win. Thought I read somewhere that the missed kick by Bass was partially blocked??
