  1. If Carr hadn't got hurt, likely Oakland would have won the division, so instead would have been KC at Houston, or could it have been Miami at Houston? But thinking with Carr healthy Oakland didn't play this weekend.
  2. This!! Think Pegs told DW I got us into this mess, so I'll take care of ending it. Unfortunately the way they handled it publicly opened them up to much attention and not in a good way.
  3. I'd disagree only because as been reported Rex reported directly to Pegs so could almost of seen as if DW fired Rex, Rex could tell him, that's nice but you don't have the authority to do that. I only take direction from Peg's I also think this may be case of Pegs telling DW, it was my call in hiring him and not listening enough to you and got us into this mess, so I'll take care of getting rid of him, it's on me. Unfortunately the way they handled it put alot of heat on the entire team.
  4. I really have doubts that DW wasn't involved. IMO there were discussions between Pegs and DW about getting rid of Rex at year end, but no clear decision had been made, so technically what DW stated was completely true. If the rumors are true that Rex was more a Peg's hire than DW, then I think it may have been more a case of Peg's telling DW, I got us into this by my choice to hirie him so I'll take the heat to fire him. The way the Bills announced it put heat on everyone. As far as benching TT, if it was due to the injury clause, then I think the front office should be the one making that call, particularly if at that point, you're not certain the HC would be back for the following season.
  5. Unless there has been some study done to show that the Pegula's are unique in doing this, I'm not faulting them in any way for this. As to Fred Jackson, recent story made it sound a bit like Rex may have actually been the one behind it.
  6. I'd assume the second time was due to change in HC, cleaned out the staff. I think it was more than that one play that caused his firing. I seem to recall that entire last year and even the year prior the Bill's special teams plays had dropped off as likely due to guys like Tasker and Pike were gone to name a few.
  7. If Romo says he wants to leave to start someplace he'll be gone. JJ does have alot of love for Romo and won't stand in his way. Likely will try and work out a trade to the team he wants to go to. The only way he stays is if he tells JJ I don't want to leave Dallas, I'm OK with being the backup and also OK with re-doing the contract to a more reasonable number. But I'd put my money on him wanting to be a starter someplace.
  8. Yeah but I think alot has changed since them. I'd be very shocked if Peg's doesn't feel he's been criticized unfairly by the media and isn't going to go out of his way at all to help them or conversely make any decisions to appease them. Look at the DW press conference. He basically told them nothing, yeah he and the Bills were ripped for it, but they don't care. Sully kept pounding Pegs "At least Ralph would face the media and not hide like Pegula did" Well kind of hard to make that point when 4 hours later Pegula does a 1 on 1 interview with AP.
  9. If it does turn out to be a rebuild may mean the leash on DW is much longer than many here think or hope for.
  10. Surprised it's not happening more. I've read/heard more than once that in the next CBA, as much noise is beign made about Roger being judge, jury, and lawyer, it likely won't change as overall not something the majority of players care about. Only the ones who get in trouble are upset by it which overall is a small number.
  11. It doesn't help any that DW isn't a very good public speaker to come across that way without even trying, (TP is no better either IMO, Kim on the other hand is very good) Big jump between 2 and 3. Likely if you took this poll 6 months ago Bills may not have even been top 10 before the wheels again came off for Rex The only point proven here is how completely clueless you are and ignore reality to support an agenda? There's about 10 teams in the league that have true franchise QB's, the rest if you were to look closely have as gone through QB's at very little difference of an over all rate. I recall in 2010 I went back to since Kelly retired (1996 to 2010) and how many starting QB's the Bills had compared to every other team in the league (I ignored temporary injury fills in for all teams) and the Bills were no worse than many others and better than some. I do recall at that point in time Miami and the Giants both had gone through more. Which was really kind of amazing as by 2010 the Giants already have 5 years of Eli Manning which really would mean the Giants in around a nine year span went through I think it was 8 or 9. Welcome to the NFL!
  12. I wonder what would happen if a player were to declare he's dropping out of the union? Are the players all considered employees of the NFL which is headquartered in NY and therefore under NY laws. From what I've always heard taxes are taken out of each players check which says they are an employee of the team residing in a state and under that state laws. And many states have "right to work laws" which means you can't be required to join a union. I get that there's a CBA, but would think each states laws would overrule that, specifically that you don't have to be part of a union. Wondering why we haven't seen that happen yet. Would think there are enough players in the league with very high morals who would declare that he doesn't want to be part of a union that defends wife beaters, drug users, and people who shoot people so he's leaving the union. Don't think you'd see that in the NBA, but maybe the NFL
  13. If the head coach is developing the QB we have a problem regardless. Personally for the overall good of the team I'd rather see an offensive minded HC, but the HC has too many things to worry about over QB development. What he needs to do is put the right person in that position to make that happen, and from that standpoint, probably matters little which side of the ball he comes from. The HC needs to be the HC and only worry about that! I'd argue that may have been one of Rex's biggest faults, a defensive guy getting way too close to the inner working details of the defense. If you put an offensive guy in there to develop the QB you'd likely have the same issue again, just on the other side.
  14. Seems like the Bills plan was to give out as little information as possible. To pull that off you have to a very sharp speaker which Whale y is not. Over the next years he could have the Bills win a Super Bowl and become great for years, but he'll still likely be a bad speaker. Problem was if you plan to be coy about things have someone speaking who can sell it. As much as everyone would have gone nuts, sending RB out there would have gone much smoother. Or even Kim as she also is a good speaker. Not sure who's worse TP or DW when it comes to speaking
  15. Well you're right about one thing you are a fan and that's all. The problem is what is obvious to you is you and I and just about everyone else talking about this, we likely know less than about 1% of what is truly going on. So you really know nothing is the bottom line except that you are a fan which is short for fanatic! No one on this or any message board thinks logically and smart, we think and talk as fans.
  16. Close to ownership?? Yeah maybe like Don Corleone in keep your friends close and your enemies closer! Sorry I never bought into Polian's take two years ago that he turned down the Bills as it was going to be too much of a big job. My take on it then as still is Pegula and Polian had discussions, some position was agreed to for Bill. Next thing there are reports that Polian is bringing in his son and AJ Smith and he's in charge. Think at that point Terry told him no Bill I just am bringing you in to be an advisor and give your suggestions to us and we'll think about them. So Polian turned the job down and came up with this story. Pegula is too classy of a guy to come out with what really happened. Fast forward to now and Polian is just another guy in the media with an ax to grind against the Bills and this is his way of doing it.
  17. Did DW not really know or is he just speaking what is technically correct. More than likely he and TP discussed firing Rex at year end unless they won out, so technically no decision was made yet. They get eliminated on X-Mas Eve, likely everyone takes off for the holiday as nothing is urgent anymore. They have their phone call on Tuesday Rex asks to speak privately with TP, they do and TP fires him. He probably does know why he was fired based on prior discussions, but last Tuesday once TP told him he fired Rex he didn't ask why that day. So technically was correct in what he stated and the company line was to not air any more dirty laundry than they absolutely need to. The problem on this board and everywhere is that everyone feels it's their god given right to be told everything. Howe many times do you see rumors swirling that a company is going to have a layoff, so you ask the boss. He tells you know he doesn't know anything about it, and two days later there's a layoff. Same here DW likely knew much more than he said, from what I've seen in the past even on good days, he's not the best speaker, but was told to keep as much under wraps. Granted, if that was their plan, they should have come up with a better story to tell, but part of that problem may fall back on DW not being too good of a speaker to sell a story. They should have sent Kim out there as neither DW or TP are good at speaking where as she's a natural at it. (believe she wasn't a communications major for nothing)
  18. Well yeah and why would Pegula or anyone connected with the Bills to go out of their way to be nice to the local guys when they've gone out of their way to ridicule them. As was stated the local media give opinion and their opinion was Pegula, Whaley, RB all are all completely incompetent.
  19. Maybe the Bills are trying to do the guy a favor and give him more time to look at other options if they are certain they are not bringing him back Seems like I recall in the past there was a similar situation where the player knew at season end he wasn't coming back.
  20. Considering Lynn was talked about a year ago as a potential HC leaves me less worried about it.
  21. And they also led the league in team rushing or damm close to #1
  22. The irony is the one win was against the Pats whom only lost two games all season! And yes I know it was without Brady, but when a team only loses two games all year, that still is pretty special.
  23. Think we need the Cardinals and Saints to both win to improve spot. If we tie'd with Eagles not sure who'd have better pick.
  24. Good day for the Bills, looks like someplace between #10 and #13 Not sure between them and the Eagles who'd get the better pick. Got Saints and Cardinals!
  25. Nope that link opens but everything still greyed out. Not sure if it's something as out of area??
