  1. Was trying to recall when we hired McD 3 years ago, who were the other people they interviewed? And who else did people here want interviewed and hired for HC of those they interviewed? I do recall McD was far from the top choice around here.
  2. It's fine to want ot draft a replacement for Rivers, but is there someone out there good enough to be the starter this coming season? Chargers were the pick of many this past year to be in the playoffs and maybe a deep run and wasn't 100% because of Rivers so there must still be a fair amount of talent there. To go from there to one season later starting a rookie or TT, would be somewhat surprising so could see them either re-signing Rivers to maybe a 2 year deal or looking for a vet, but maybe in either case drafting a rookie but have someone this year more seasoned to start. To me the difference between Rivers vs Winston and Daulton is Rivers has played long enough that he's not going to go some place that he's not pretty much guaranteed to start. Likely Winston and Daulton would say the same, however the difference IMO is that River/Manning have played long enough to easily retire if not given that chance. Where as Winston and Daulton will hold out for the starting gig, but when/if reality sets in that they aren't getting one, then could see them sign someplace where they know their spot is to be the backup. But also agree that Winston's off field image isn't likely to ever get an offer from the Bills. I'd be worried if the Bills backup is a rookie as Allen isn't far enough up the learning curve yet to be relying on a rookie as a sounding board. Unless it's like a 6th rounder who you cut and move to the PS, but likely anything drafted much higher, may get snatched up if any potential. In that case the rookie is the #3 QB, but still want/need a vet backup.
  3. I'd think a team like San Diego, Carolina, would take a chance on a guy like him assuming they are also drafting a rookie, (maybe not early 1st round) and let them compete, (or whatever team signs Josh Rosen) probably even let Dalton start and as the season goes on, if he falters, then turn to the rookie. Going to a team like Buffalo he knows he's not going to have a chance to start barring injury. But if there really is no market for him with a team where he's given a shot to start, then could see him coming to a place like Buffalo strictly as the backup.
  4. This is to counter balance Houston activating JJ Watt. Now we're even!
  5. Yup everyone knows that except the coaches, you're the smart one. Not sure if this was meant to be sarcastic or you're just an idiot.
  6. Wow, so far only 4 openings, a real down year for new coaching jobs.
  7. How many teams in the league aren't doomed if their backup is forced to play? The only exceptions tend to be teams that have a questionable starter to begin with so a good backup signs with that team as he knows he has a good chance to start, i.e. Fitz, and Tannerhill. As was also mentioned, many of the better options aren't going to sign with a team where they know they will only be the backup and never start other than due to injury, i.e. Dauton, Drafting a rookie would put you in a worse spot Couple that with many starters being out, don't think we're any worse than most teams.
  8. Recall reading the stories last week that Coughlin was out, but never seen/read anything that it did actually happen??
  9. When you read all the articles from people more in the know, for Duke it's all about special teams, he's not as good as Foster and Roberts. Also comment that if Wallace isn't 100%, then Kevin Johnson takes his spot which then also removes him from ST so doubtful they'd remove both off the field. Kind of similar reasons from Yeldon, ST play. Maybe they decide Duke's play is a big enough boost to the offense to take the chance on weaker ST or find someone else to sit. IMO the most logical would be Kroft or Smith, but Smith for blocking. Maybe if they feel Williams could play Kroft's position. With the nicked up lines on both sides, doubt they'd sit anyone there instead.
  10. Somewhat surprised than none made the top 50 list. I'd go with Ngakoue, Henry, and Robby Anderson at WR. I'd prefer a cheaper number 2 type paired with Brown and draft a rookie in 2nd or 3rd round. Would not bother with Green unless he came real cheap.
  11. Wouldn't shock me to see Duke active instead of Foster, but that's about the only change I think you'll see barring injury. Consider the O line may be a bit nicked up, could see them dressing one extra there at the expense of another position like DE
  12. I'm hoping they use the #1 pick on DE, prefer that to WR as easier to find good WR in FA than DE. That's why we're paying Murphy what we are for what we get. Having said that think it will come down to either Lawson or Murphy is back. That leaves one of these two, Hughes, rookie, and maybe Johnson take the 4th spot like this year assuming some additional improvement in run defense.
  13. I agree with Tomlin. Know idea if he will be fired, but he should be, it's about 2 years too late actually. Think he's worn out his welcome. Too many issues Antonio Brown, Bell. While not directly Tomlin's doing, it's on his watch. I'd consider firing him to be the akin to a life time achievement award!
  14. Well almost nothing would still be more than Williams contributed in his 2nd and 3rd game active. Think it was one catch in the two games.
  15. I believe Parker is a FA. Overall I'd like the Bills to sign someone like him, plus draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. Typically WR's take some time to develop, so next year have Brown, Parker (or Parker like) and Beasley as your starters along with Roberts and the rookie on the bench. So for those who feel Foster should be cut, if they sign a FA and draft a rookie, he likely will be cut, ...... along with Duke too. And I'm sure just like last off season teams will be lining up to sign him. If they keep a 6th, likely be McKenzie barring a huge off season improvement from Williams. I stated before todays game, not surprised to see Williams have a good game today as he likely has practiced much more with Barkley as both are backups, than Foster or McKenzie did.
  16. Exactly, you only dressed 46 players take out the 3 specialists minus 22 starters leaves 21 players left. You have to play some.
  17. Man Bradshaw must be hurting for money or something. Seems everytime I see an Ad, he's in it these days.
  18. I know, probably 5 others already posted the same, but was busy replying to another post.
  19. I think the opposite. I put most of the blame on Allen as IMO he is to hyped up at the start of every game. It takes him some time to settle down it seems every game.
  20. Depends on what she looks like.
  21. That's what Rex did. Think it happens much more than you ever hear about. Both Bill Polian and Tom Donahoe knew he wasn't coming back, admittedly not coaches. Polian supposedly knew by November he was done.
  22. I think there's a good chance Williams does look pretty good today as likely he's had more time practicing with Barkley all year sl better chance they are on the same page. And Yeldon , well someone is going to touch the ball so even if he were to get stopped for no gain half of his touches, he could still have 60 to 70 yards on the other half.
  23. Not that it matter much anymore, but likely all four games will be played in central time zone. Back in the day a team like NE would almost always play the early game due to being in the east. They weren't going to make fan sit there and freeze with a night game. Now who cares about the fans!
  24. I wonder if the issue may be he just doesn't know the playbook well enough or from what they see in practice that he's not a good route runner?
