Seem to notice this season teams are playing more pre-season games against teams in opposite conference than past years. They'd rarely ever play a team they were scheduled to play during regular season but in past Bills may have played a team like Cinnci, but not this year. All other conference games.

Josh Allen: Contract extended through 2028
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had less issue with Flacco though as he was more of a prototypical QB at least. I hope you're right as that will saddle the Ravens big time if they do! -
Josh Allen: Contract extended through 2028
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You really think that?? I was assuming all along the Allen camp was waiting on Jacksons contract to be finalized as Allen would then get more. I'm thinking Jackson in upper 30s? IMO Jackson is taking a chance on not agreeing as the longer he plays the less he may be worth. The only thing he has going is an MVP which is worth something, but is also somewhat old news now. -

Where are the roster battles?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe not if they are someone as strong as Kumarow and Breida who's really the 3rd RB. For most teams the #3 RB is a contributor on a regular basis. The Bills led the league in 4 wide sets, so the #6 WR could see significant playing time if any of the 5 above are hurt or just need a blow. McKenzie's playing time as a WR may drop some too if he's the main return guy. We'll find out the answers in less than a month or so! -

I agree with both your statements, but does both Breida and Kumarow get bonus points as they add a second function to the roster as a RB and WR and can take actual meaningful snaps at both positions whereas Jones and Matakevich pretty much only add ST value though even Matakevich did play some snaps. While Jones is the better ST'er he may be passed in overall roster value by others. To me the question is how does the roster improve much from last year when keeping players like Jones and a 6th round pick( I believe it was) in Stevenson. I think their MO may need to change in order to improve quickly. -

OK, here's my take on your take. Offense I'm not so sure about Hollister as he's missed a fair amount of time already. Could see the Bills signing a more experienced TE that's cut from some other teams roster in September to replace him and will be Knox Sweeney, & TBD (plus there's always Ertz) I think Kumerow & Hodgins make it as the 6th and 7th WR and at the expense of T Jones. Gilliam as a FB and ST player. Think Bates is a lock. Backup tackle will be interesting as they don't want to lose either rookie tackle they drafted, but not so sure they are comfortable with them two as the back ups. Won't be surprised to see one of the rookies end up on IR and they then keep Hart. By the numbers QB 2 RB 3 TE 3 WR 7 OL 9 FB 1 Defense Think it's 6 DE with Obada the last one in and D Johnson is out. Sounds like Obada offers almost as much on ST Agree with 4 DT but everything I read sounds like Zimmer is looking real good to make it Phillips may be the weakest, but do they want to cut him and gamble on no true backup for Star? On the other hand Star comes out on passing plays so may not need a true backup for depth, just more for injury concern if Star were to get hurt. But maybe they answer is if that happens, they find someone to sign. Or keep Phillips and Zimmer and eat the cash on Butler. They've also commented how on passing downs a couple of DE's can move inside With keeping 10 DL think it's only 5 LB, Edmunds, Milano, Klein and likely Matakevich make the top 4. Right now sounds like Smith is next best. Think it's 6 CBs, White Wallace, T Johnson, and Jackson are close to locks with Neal close behind. Question is does Wildgoose get the last spot or one of the other camp bodies beat him. At safety Hyde, Proyer, and J Johnson are in the only questions is does Hamlin get the 4th spot though sounds like someone is outplaying him. Can't recall if it's Thomas or another guy think his name is Thompson?? By the numbers DT 4 DE 6 LB 5 CB 6 S 4 PK, LS, PU Mckenzie is the return guy with Hyde backup for punt returns. Not sure who the backup KO return player is? That still leaves experienced ST standouts and main contributors in: Gilliam, Kumerow, Brieda, Matakevich, Zimmer, J Johnson, and Obada. -
Agree about cap casualties who get cut, but the other poster was talking about a trade. Can't see many players out there good enough to improve the Bills roster overall, but another team giving up on that same player. Other than someone like Ertz. In other cases teams will usually just wait it out till he's cut.
-
While I completely agree with the concept, the Bills roster is pretty strong all around, can't imagine any team giving up on a player and that player still being good enough to improve the Bills roster other than maybe Ertz. Maybe a backup OT as read Hart is struggling but even then would likely mean cutting either one of the rookies they drafted or Bates or Bottinger to make room for him??

TheAthletic piece on Kumerow
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read that article too in The Athletic and came away thinking good chance Kumo makes the team as an extra #6 or 7 WR and takes Jones spot on roster. Similarly I think Obada take Johnson's spot as he to can play ST. Probably a better chance to if they cut Jones, a month later Kumo got hurt and they want to sign Jones, he'd still be available whereas the other way around, likely Kumo is gone. In prior years the Bills could afford to keep these ST aces as the choice may come down to keeping another DB or T Jones. Well that extra DB wasn't that strong so easier to justify keeping Jones or other St players. This year the team would be giving up some serious talent to keep all these mainly ST only players. Would be hard to keep them and improve the roster much. -
And you know this how?? Based on Williams having a good 2nd half against the Fish when the entire team was basically heading for the bus by that point. I would think the fact that 32 teams passed on Williams 7 times as opposed to Singletary and Moss both getting drafted, apparently none of the 32 GM's agrees with you.

Why not keep Kumerow
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will say of the three highlighted, think Kumerow would have the lowest chance of sneaking him onto the PS squad so that could factor into keeping him active. Think Stevenson will be on the PS so likely will comedown to him or Hodgins unless they do keep 7. I suppose with very little upgrade at TE, can see them going the route of we're going to go 4 wide or even 5 wide more than 2 TE's so they keep 7. But do agree something has to give someplace with the numbers. If the final spot came down to Kumerow or the Obada, I'd vote for Obada as pass rush is a bigger need to improve on.! -
Yeah suppose I could try that, nothing to lose other than dealing with them for an hour. Anyone know if there's a number to call for streaming ST only?

My own address is a new within 2 years constructed building so there was never a DTV subscription at this location and no way they'd know whether it is or isn't possible to get reception here. But states Not eligible.
-
So I just used this link and when I type in my own actual address it come back not eligible at this address. I then even typed the address of a nursing home and got the same results, not eligible. There's also a little pop up next to the address that states "Address must match your payment method" I've tried it also on more than one device with same results. I keep reading here how anyone can now get ST without DTV, but every time I've ever tried I get the same results. So someone, please tell me what the issue is or send me an address that will work. As far as I can tell nothing has changed and this is still only available for people who can't receive a satellite signal. Even there I don't understand why a nursing home isn't eligible. It also looks like they added this statement of "Address must match your payment method" as never saw that prior.

Bills sign TE Bug Howard
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Hollister didn't practice yesterday, didn't see a reason listed. Today we sign a TE, could there be a connection?? Injury to Hollister?? Maybe since been reported why Hollister was out?? -

That's why Benjamin was stealing the food!! Wouldn't shock me to hear he took some band-aids and a couple of heating pads too. -
Actually he didn't say it first. Sorry, but I can recall already reading this here a few months back. Yes they did so can't se him going there either. And if he was offered the job, think I'd run the other way as just further shows what a mess the Texan are if they fire the guy they hired after one season. Of the three teams mentioned though the one thing Texans have going, assuming Watsons legal issues don't become even bigge,r is by trading him would get some picks in return. Maybe ask for 2023 picks this way you give Mitch one year to show what he can do, if not great, then use all your picks to draft a top QB. Agree could see Gruden quiting after this season as he realizes it's not like the old days, more than getting fired.

Early 53-Man Projections?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree on Obada. I think one of the 2 OT's drafted ends up on IR. Doubt overall they keep 10 O lineman. Likely keep the safety they drafted Can't see Kumerow getting traded to Green Bay as they know if the Bills were to cut him, thats the first place he'd head. So they can wait till we cut him. On the other hand if some other team really wanted him, could see them swooping in with a trade so they lock him up. Think Sweeney makes the roster, as mentioned Gilliam is now listed as FB. He's also a ST ace so could see him making team in place of Jones. Agree to Stevenson has a shot, not sure in place of who though. With keeping 10 D lineman (which I agree with) could see them only going with 5 LB's think Dodson is the odd man out. So maybe it ends up being 26 Offense, 24 Defense and 3 ST?? -
Jake Kumerow… make the team or trade to GB?
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah but usually the reason a team makes a trade for a player likely to be cut is to make sure 100% they got him. In this case if we were to cut him, high likelihood GB would make the best offer and Rodgers would be on the phone with him so can't see Green Bay giving up anything in a trade. On the other hand if some other team wanted him could see them swooping in with a trade to grab him before Green Bay has a chance -
To me the difference is in Buffalo and western NY the trip is they drop them in the sauce as soon as they come out of the fryer so the sauce kind of vaporizes into the wing. Many other places they let the wings cool a bit so then you end up with sauce just dripping off outside of wing. Some even the big boys like Buffalo Wild Wings will fry up 50 or so at a time and then sauce to order again letting them sit awhile prior.
-
If I were to give up a 1st round pick I'd rather go for a Chandler Jones as the D line is an area we weren't very strong in. Doubt it would happen there either after drafting a D lineman 1st, 2nd this year and 2nd last season. Overall don't think giving up a 1st for a CB is worth it as not a highly weak area of team. We were one of the top pass defenses already without him or any top tier #2 CB.

Who made Who in 2020? Allen vs Diggs
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd add it takes 3 to tango and add Daboll into the mix as sounds like from much of what Diggs said, he was the first OC that kind of listened to Diggs as devised plays to take advantage of Diggs strengths. Plus in general sounded like he had many more routes to run. Having said that while all 3 contributed, do still feel overall was the improvement of Allen. Without the arm strength, improved accuracy, and his ability to avoid sacks; all the route running doesn't help much, still need to get him or Beasley the ball.
