  1. I don't necessarily disagree with the Bills at the top, but they are far from complete give the gaping hole at DB right now in a conference primed for an offensive explosion every week depending on the matchups. Also a few other thoughts - 1) If Matt Ryan has anything left I can easily see the Colts winning the division and Titans falling off this year. 2) I'm actually leaning towards the Raiders winning the AFCW this year, people are sleeping on them big time and don't forget they overcame a lot last year with an interim coach and nearly beat the Bengals who went on to the SB in the AFC. 3) Chiefs very well may now be primed for a letdown but still see them in the playoffs as a WC and lots of time left for them to sign vets and utilize all their draft picks they now have. 4) Still way to hard to predict how the WC field is going to shake out but could definitely see Miami sneaking in as the AFCW and AFCN brutalize eachother.
  2. I don't think Diggs will necessarily pull a diva move with the Bills, but the dilemma for Beane is the longer they wait to give him a new deal, the more absurd the money is going to be and the domino effect from the Adams deal and trade to the Raiders is directly responsible for the chiefs opting not to pay Hill and trading him to the Dolphins. Here's the big question to ponder though, is Diggs worth the same money as Hill and Adams? You can argue either way but personally not sure he is and never thought I would admit this but think his success is more the biproduct of JA17 than vice versa.
  3. Losing Hill is going to hurt the Chiefs but they are now stockpiled with draft picks and can position themselves to trade up for the best WR in the draft if they want to. Veach might very well be the best GM in the game right now considering his haul last year. Won't be shocked if they make a run at our old friend Beasely either and probably will add at least one more veteran along the way regardless. Either way Chiefs and Mahomes still the gold standard until they aren't.
  4. Not sure why everyone is bumping this thread from a few months ago, but it's still true today. This was a crushing loss for this team and isn't the first time McDermott has lost to lessor 'one and done' type of coaches. Also had a memorable gaffe against the Freddie Kitchen Browns a few years ago.
  5. All depends on what happens with Tua, he seemed to play well last year down the stretch but certainly not quite elite. If he takes another step this year obviously the Dolphins are a threat not only to win the division, but compete for a SB. My biggest concern is what this new look fish offense is going to look like under McDaniel. If he's truly some sort of 'savant' he'll find a way to manufacture a potent dink and dunk, YAC type of offense that utilizes Waddle and Hill to their maximum potential. Because IMO both Waddle/Hill better than Samuel who was a major weapon for the 49er's doing this type of stuff. Either way CB is still a glaring hole on the Bills roster right now and needs to be addressed other than just draft picks. Not thrilled with the idea of Edmunds covering these type of WR's either.
  6. In hindsight it's still pretty surprising that Mayfield went #1 overall and despite all the talk about him playing injured last year the Browns didn't hesitate to move on from him and give up the farm for a guy that could still be suspended for a good chunk of the upcoming season and has even bigger character/off the field question marks that the guy he'll be replacing.
  7. Agree but given the current state of the roster don't be surprised to see more 'luxury' picks or boom/bust project guys that will be inactive or see very limited snaps this year. Just the reality of the situation unfortunately.
  8. You are probably right, hard to see Beane not taking IOL somewhere in the top 3 rounds even if we pick up another bargain basement FA or two along the way.
  9. There's close to zero chance White is going to be ready at the start of the season coming off an ACL that happened just last Thanksgiving. He may not even be close to the same player he was until 2023 (if ever again) regardless of when he returns this year. This is why it's befuddling we have not signed anybody yet given the current depth chart at DB and can't simply be relying on rookies in the draft to start at such a crucial position.
  10. Good stuff but nobody cares about paper tigers or offseason champions this time of year. Media love was off the charts at times last year as well heading into the season.
  11. My only guess is that Beane wasn't going to be deceived by Phillips playing the best ball of his career on a contract year during the 2nd half of the season. And the fact he was on the roster bubble entering the season and inactive a good chunk of the first half of the season kind of validates this theory. It will be interesting to see what he does with the Vikings and if he continues to play well or ends up like Jordan Phillips in AZ after he got paid.
  12. This Bates saga is a bit strange and raises a few questions in that either Beane did not think he would get much interest on the market and/or doesn't care if we lose him to another team. Bates was a key piece of the oline rounding into form at the end of the season and into the playoffs but you still have to wonder if he's legit 16+ game starting material. If he does leave guard becomes another major priority along with DB.
  13. Damn where on earth is there going to be room on this roster for draft picks this year???
  14. I seriously hope this isn't the case considering the massive hole this team has right now at the DB position.....
  15. Even if that's the case the Colts were a playoff team under those circumstances a few years ago, one that outplayed the Bills for the most part and could have easily won that game in Buffalo too. With that said the conference might be too loaded for the Colts to make noise this year unless Ryan has an MVP type of season there.
  16. Agree, plus would he even want to come back here? Could have sworn he made negative comments about the area when he left but that was some time ago and might not matter at this point especially if the market drys up and his options dwindle.
  17. AFC is going to be loaded from top to bottom, and in the AFCS you get the sense that there very well only be one team that gets to the playoffs from that division this year given the strength of the other 3 divisions in terms of WC's. With that said, this is a move that could pay big dividends for the Colts especially if the change of scenery angle revitalizes Ryan's career. He really only needs to be a pseudo game manager type of QB in Indy behind their physical running game and defense for this to work.
  18. Seems more like a camp body, won't be surprised if we draft a RB again this year somewhere in rounds 4-7.
  19. It's still insane that we paid a guy like Murphy almost $10M per season to be a rotational 5 sack a season type of guy. This is why getting a proven commodity like Von Miller at $17M a year is almost a steal.
  20. IMO this team needs to sign two capable veteran DB's sooner than later. Because it's truly wishful thinking to assume White is going to be ready at the start of the season or anywhere close to 100%. He probably won't come back until midseason and be close to his old self until December/January if that. Therefore there is no way this team is going into the season with Jackson and and a rookie DB as their starting tandem after overhauling the dline once again making a splash with Von Miller.
  21. Pretty much, if he looks good in summer great if not he's released without hurting the cap situation.
  22. I knew Barkley couldn't be the real back up target....very solid move here and a guy that can win games especially on a roster built like this one.
  23. This. Not only are they guaranteeing him Mahomes/Allen type of money (and still think he's not close to being in the same class), they are basically saying they don't give a ***** about the allegations or any pending suspensions. Also remember this is a guy that signed a guaranteed contract already with another team and decided he didn't want to play for them anymore (likely because of said allegations and because that team was entering a full blown rebuilding mode). Funny too how Watson magically changed his mind about going to Cleveland once the contract became 'guaranteed' because obviously other teams were smart of enough to want contingencies. Either way karma has a way of sorting itself out and don't be surprised if he tears an ACL especially after not playing football in so long by the time he sees the field again.
  24. There's nothing I've seen from the Dolphins or Pats in FA so far that indicates they have closed the gap on the Bills or even playing in the same league but bad luck and injuries can change everything. I do agree though that between the AFCW and AFCN you will likely see all the wildcards come from those 2 divisions meaning only the AFCS and AFCE division winners get in the tourney this year.
  25. If true guess this team is supremely confident in Allen continuing to stay healthy for 17+ game season.
