  1. I think with both Gronk and Knox on the field it would add a unique dynamic and create matchup nightmares against opposing defenses especially with Davis and Diggs already in the picture. Throw in Beasely (or whoever might replace him) and you are talking about an offense that will be right up there with KC jockeying for the #1 scoring unit all year.
  2. You get the sense that even if the Bills want to keep guys like Harrison, Wallace, etc they know that there will be some ridiculous deals thrown around in FA especially with the salary cap figure going upwards again.
  3. Not necessarily a shocking move. Franchise QB's don't grow on trees and it makes sense for both parties to stick together and try and win another SB during Rogers twilight years.
  4. I never said Edmunds sucks. My take on his is that he's simply miscast in this defensive scheme and not worth signing long term. But given his age and skill set there might be another team out there that covets him more and believes he could 'break out' in a 3-4 defense which is where he belongs on the outside.
  5. Big time story....makes you wonder if it's the first domino to fall so to speak in terms of other big names being dropped (and suspended) soon.
  6. He might very well be right. I've watched the Pats and Chiefs playoff games several times now on my DVR before I'm finally ready to cleanse myself of the 2021 season and move on for good and I still can't believe what I witnessed and how this team went home after the divisional rounds after a historical 2 game stretch. And this is coming from someone who was not afraid to criticize him for his uneven play during the regular season.
  7. You are probably right but still holding out hopes he's played his last down for this team and we move him now why he still has real value (maybe even a 1st rounder). It honestly be a win/win for both sides especially if Edmunds lands with a defensive coach and scheme that provide a better fit for his skill set.
  8. True but doubtful that will happen and Veach said this gives them flexibility to hammer out a long term deal. But getting back to the point, the Bills obviously cant stand pat and trot out the 'run it back' or 'build through the draft' message this year. If anything the veterans on this team aren't going to accept it given how close they are to taking that next step. Everyone behind the four walls at One Bills Drives knows the time is now to make a serious move or two in the offseason.
  9. It's truly a year to year league and why so many fans/media/etc felt the Bills pissed away what was their best chance to get to/win a SB since the 90's and you just don't know when the stars will align again despite having a talent like JA17 at the helm. And while I agree the Bills should be the prohibitive favorites to at least win the division again in 2022 and get to the playoffs again there's still tons of offseason left and if the Dolphins were to make a big move at QB at the very least they are going to have the same odds as the Bills in terms of winning the division given the core of talent already in place and how close they have been to breaking through the last few years. Still think that if Mac Jones takes a big step this year the Pats are going to be there too. And the Jets have tons of money and cap space to make a move especially if the QB situation improves.
  10. He was just franchised so thy have him at least this year....
  11. It's baffling that after everything that has happened with this team and not being able to sniff Mahomes again that they would want to double down on 'rotation' and invest in players like this. So hopefully it's not true, or if it has any credence it's a move that will happen in addition to bringing in a marque veteran pass rusher.
  12. It's all about kicking the can down the road and the Bills can generate tons of cap space with a combination of any of these moves: - Releasing/trading Beasely - Releasing/restructure Williams - Restructuring Tre White deal - Releasing Feliciano, Matekevich, etc. - Trading Edmonds - Extending Diggs
  13. The only big impending loss they may have is Matheiu who has indicated he's looking for a one last huge deal which the Chiefs aren't going to offer. Will hurt their secondary but it's not like it was a dominant unit to begin with. They are going to have a bunch of space after releasing Frank Clark and extending Hill. The consensus opinion in the KC media circle is that they are going to also swing big for a pass rusher this offeason, in addition to bringing in another WR weapon for Mahomes. So combine that with the great young core they already have and the best draft class of 2021 this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon hence the pressure for Beane to make equally significant moves in this chess game.
  14. Not necessarily a shocking as the Pats know they need to get younger and faster in D to combat JA17 and all the other young emerging QB's in the conference.
  15. If true I have zero issues with this for a number of reasons. He's a great guy in terms of his off the field contributions and he defied the odds this year being a bubble guy that was inactive most the first half of the season to emerging as a key piece for this defense down the stretch. But at the end of the day he's not worth the money that he probably can get on the open market which is why this is likely a valid rumor and still think we need a more dominant presence at DT next to Oliver.
  16. I think this is the key point lost in the conversation. It's easy for McD and the rest of the Bills organization to give these canned generic responses to the fanbase in hopes of appeasing them and that they'll simply move on at some point as we get closer to the 2022 campaign. But based on Dunne's article, the players certainly have not moved on and I still think there's very murky waters ahead especially if this team gets off to a slow start this year and McDermott's message in the lockerroom starts to get tuned out by the veterans on this team. Who really knows what's happening behind the scenes but it's a true test of what type of coach McDermott really is to move on from the Chiefs game and have this team in position to not only win a 3rd division title, but finally compete for the grand prize which many will still have doubts he's capable of doing (myself included).
  17. Stafford now has a ring so by default he should definitely be in the conversation of the highest paid QB in the league. Cousins on the other hand would be a hard pass for that kind of money.
  18. Other than familiarity with Mahomes and the Chiefs, I'm not sure this is a move I would like because of the production on paper and it seems it would just be another average type of player added a position that truly needs an overhaul and at least one true proven playmaker.
  19. I think it really depends on the intention of the team that signs him. If someone brings him in to be the the starter it's going to be a minimum of $10M - $15M per season.
  20. If a true 'big splash' type of move is coming, we will know pretty quick with FA on the horizon just over a week away. And still think the time is now to swing for the fences to land a premier pass rusher if we are ever going to get over the hump and beat Mahomes and KC when it really matters. And speaking of KC, rumors keep circulating that they are primed for a big offseason with pending moves to free up lots of cap space coming. So by default we are almost forced to make our own big moves to keep pace.
  21. They are obviously banking on 2021 being an outlier because he was essentially injured the whole season (i believe week 2). But if you look at Mayfields entire body of work nothing truly stands out in terms of him being anything more than a middle of the pack type of starter.
  22. Just like any profession, there's always going to be internal conflict within an organization. If this current regime and roster had won a SB this was be epitome of a non issue, but you do have to be concerned about this type of information after the debacle at the end of the Chiefs game and connecting the dots here. And I maintain it paints a picture about McDermott that furthers the point that he may not be as safe in Buffalo long term that some believe. You also have to wonder if his message has become stale in the lockerroom how that may impact things this summer. If this team gets off to a slow start this season or fails to meet the right expectations (i.e. SB appearance at minimum) I would bet the house that McDermott will not be in Buffalo next year.
  23. Like the saying goes....be careful what you wish for. Beasely is a polarizing figure given his politcal/vaccination stance and comments but he's still a top 5 player in terms of slot receiver in this league and I still think he was somewhat under utilized in the offense despite the ridiculous numbers he's posted. So unless there is a real plan to replace him not named Isaiah McKenzie I wouldn't want to release or trade him in a hasty move.
  24. It would be very awkward if Gronk were to sign with the Bills or another team in the offseason, then Brady decides to unretire. Would he want to also go back to the Bucs or wherever Brady plays? Either way I would assume the top contenders for his services have to be the Bills, Chiefs or Rams.
  25. I really wish the media would stop giving this guy attention but they won't because of the drama that both he and Mahomes wife bring to the headlines.
