  1. Tua is not the same type of player as JA17, but these type of comparisons do hold some weight and exactly why Miami is going all in with him in year three adding a dynamic weapon like Hill just like the Bills did with Diggs in his 3rd (and breakout) season. All the ingredients are there for the dolphins to take another step in 2022 and win 11+ games which puts even more pressure on McDermott and this team to be consistent from opening day until the end of the season to ensure they win a 3rd consecutive division title (and guarantee themselves a playoff spot). Definitely can't take the middle of season off again and go through another 3-5 type of stretch.
  2. Won't be a popular opinion, but personally I would move Diggs before Knox. There's no way there is going to be room to keep him long term with given the current WR market that is only going to keep climbing higher. And no matter what people think and read into his social media, Diggs is not taking a 'hometown' discount for this team. He knows he's worth big time money and guarantee those demands have already been made by him and his agent to Beane the minute the Adams and Hill deals and contracts were done.
  3. I still wouldn't rule it out given the amount of cap space it would free up and the fact we aren't likely paying him upwards of $15M - $20M a year going forward. It makes too much sense to move him now instead of keeping him for a lame duck season even if he were to put together his best NFL season in a contract year (which would make him even more expensive anyway).
  4. For fans that insist Bease production was starting to slip this would be a valid reason as to why. But it's not all that shocking since he is such a small dude taking a beating amongst beasts out there. Same reason guys like Edelmen were constantly banged up and on the patriots injury report seemingly every week. Still think we are going to miss him this year and hope Dorsey figures out a way to compensate for it.
  5. Not if you are looking for a stud DB who could be even better than Tre White, but other than that I would tend to agree the Bills should (and ultimately probably will) stay put.
  6. Bills pash rush wasn't an issue last year against the Dolphins, in fact both Rouseau and Epenesa had their career best games against them last year. Again, I think what's missing in the discussion is that eventually the Dolphins will figure out a way to beat the Bills and 2022 will provide their best chance yet under a new HC and revamped roster.
  7. It's good to hear we are still doing the obvious in terms of pursuing a veteran DB. At some point though the market is going to dry up quickly, likely before or right after the draft.
  8. All signs would point to DB because can't see them moving up for oline or WR. Also Edmunds is the only guy worth anything in a trade to move up and still makes sense in a separate individual trade scenario. Throwing in useless roster space like Moss or Ford wouldn't move the needle considering we'd be lucky to get a 6th or 7th rounder for either of them right now straight up. Either way this is an interesting rumor to monitor.
  9. If McDaniel is truly some sort of genius and savant the Dolphins will eventually find a way to beat the Bills soon even with mediorce QB play. And obviously by hiring an offensive minded guy this time around they are doubling down on Tua and assuming that McDaniel can bring out the best in him like he did with Jimmy G in SF. If that happens and Tua does take another step still think the fish are right up there with the Bills as not only as potential division winners, but SB contenders.
  10. There are two schools of though on this, if your QB/offense is hot you probably want them to get the ball first in overtime. However now that each team is ensured at least one possession I would lean on deferring every time since you still have a chance to stop the other team first and then can just win with a FG instead of TD on your next possession.
  11. Ties in the NFL are one of the dumbest rules in all professional sports. No other league does this and really surprised they have done away with this yet ensuring regular season games extend beyond overtime if needed to determine a winner.
  12. I'll never understand the Fitz obsession by some bills fans especially when you consider he was a big part of what was wrong with this franchise the prior 17 years before the current regime came here (i.e. rewarding a mediorce player with a massive contract because of a few good games). He's not coming back to Buffalo unless it's as a fan or playing on an opposing team so time to move on.
  13. This would be the smart move for a number of reasons, if anything to keep Allen healthy and ensure his career has real longevity instead of following the path of Cam Newton five years down the road. I'm all for Allen taking off and making plays when he needs to but the designed run stuff needs to go moving forward.
  14. Now this is a bit of a headscratcher. And even if we would have lost Bates it doesn't make much sense to sign a guy that likely isn't even going to play in 2022 unless it's strictly under the agreement that if he's not healthy before the season starts he'll get cut without any penalty to the Bills.
  15. I'm actually surprised this happened and now it's pretty clear this team views Bates as locked into a starting spot this season.
  16. On paper it's hard to argue that this isn't a top 5 team in the conference/league. But the key here is 'on paper' and you really don't know what's going to happen especially if injuries hit hard which have derailed two SB caliber teams in recent years (See SF in 2020 and BAL in 2021). Also with all the movement around the rest of the AFC there are a handful of other teams and fanbases believing the same exact thing right now. Also never underestimate the unexpected with another team nobody expects to be a contender like the Bengals last year. In the end though my biggest concern is that it's going to be coaching that still ultimately holds this team back from taking the next step in 2022.
  17. They missed the playoff by one game the last two season, the team that made the SB in the AFC had one more win than the Dolphins which shows the margin of error in this league. And it's not just adding Hill, they added one of the best LT in the NFL and the assumption is that Tua will improve behind an offensive minded HC. Lot's of things need to fall into place but it's not impossible for the Dolphins to be in the SB mix and speaking of the Bengals how many 'experts' had them in the SB last year? Probably zero, in fact they were almost a consensus favorite to be last place in their division and be picking in the top 5 again.
  18. We already have enough money tied up in ST guys like Maketvich who I thought would be long gone or restructured for the minimum. My point is that guys like Jones don't add any real value to this team compared to a dirt cheap UDFA or 7th rounder that can do essentially the same thing. I could care less about having 'the best gunner in the league' on this team it means nothing and changes nothing for this team's outlook this year.
  19. Looking at the polling here it's almost a dead even split which is very telling how divided fans are on this issue. For me Diggs is very similar to the Edmunds situation with the only difference in that Diggs is actually a difference maker worth the money. But just like my rationale with Edmunds, you can't keep and pay everyone which is why the Bills hand may be forced next year to move Diggs in a trade for a similar haul that GB and KC got for their star receivers.
  20. At some point the Dolphins will beat us again and sweep us in a season for that matter. Not saying it's going to be season but they seem to follow the Bills old formula against the Pats in all the years we were dominated by them in that they get blown out in one game and play very close with chances to win in the other. As of right now though they clearly look like the #2 team in the division on paper anyway.
  21. Unreal the fascination this team has with ST players and is seemingly doubling down on stupid after ST was one of the main reasons we lost in the playoffs.
  22. Tua's not trash at all, he's improved steadily and the Dolphins have something like a 13-7 record when in games he's started. Not saying he's on a JA17 trajectory but it's foolish for Bills and other teams fans to write guys like him and Mac Jones off. Also remember with a guy like Hill all it takes is a timely 5 yard pass that can turn into an 80 yard TD and our defense has always been exposed by those type of plays under McD/Frazier and last time I checked we still have Edmunds on this roster which isn't a good thing in regards to this.
  23. i posted this in another thread too....worried Diggs may show his 'true colors' soon watching all these WR's get paid crazy money. The Adams deal and trade created a massive domino effect which is why Hill is no longer a Chief.
  24. Guess is who is making interesting comments on twitter today...
  25. If there is truly no out or protection for the Browns in this contract they are the dumbest franchise in all professional sports history. Either way the draft picks are gone and they aren't getting them back.
