  1. Good to see you Ice. I hope your Packers can soon get past the Aaron Rodgers troubles.
  2. I think this is a fair assessment. I think Sanders is an upgrade, but not a huge one. Brown is somewhat faster and younger. Sanders is a better route runner and better hands, but the age issue is still a question.
  3. Like others, picking Baltimore ahead of Buffalo doesn't seem real logical. It does, however seem very ESPNish.
  4. It's especially tough for Zach Wilson. According to the article, Knapp was the guy talking to Wilson most of the time during mini-camp.
  5. At the risk of being obvious, let me summarize what we know. Besides the release of Jones (I always hate when a "Jones" gets cut) the only other fact that we know is that Jones never had the opportunity to show what he can or can't do on the field. First, it seems as though Beane figures Jones would be at best a fringe player. Second, he thinks he's in the running to land a player who might be at the very least a bit more impactful than Jones. It would not necessarily be a DT.
  6. Given what we know about him: draft position, athleticism, and attitude, it would be a shock if he didn't make the 53 man roster. After that, it's just a matter of development.
  7. I think Gilliam's only route to a roster spot is if the Bills decide they want to run more plays with a fullback or H-Back in the backfield. He's not better than other TEs on the roster at catching the ball or inline blocking, as far as I'm aware, and I think the Bills can get some solid special teams play out of other TEs on the roster.
  8. Can she play defensive end. That killer instinct can be a valuable commodity, especially given that she like hitting QBs.
  9. Sounds like he broke into a former girlfriend's place. Certainly, it wouldn't have been a random burglary to acquire stolen goods to make some extra money.
  10. Other than the fact he was inactive in the playoffs, as Gunner stated, why wouldn't teams target him? He was a rookie playing across from a top 5 corner in the league. He played better than expected, and has better athleticism than Wallace. I think he'll make a leap from his rookie year. He will absolutely compete with Wallace to start, and my money is on him to win.
  11. There's a decent chance that Dane Jackson beats out Levi Wallace. There's enough talent there one way or another to win a fair number of games on the Bills schedule, but not enough to take them to the playoffs.
  12. I don't know that the Bills would decide to cut Beasley over the COVID vaccine remarks, but if Beasley makes good on his threats to flaunt behavior that violates league COVID protocol, the Bills may not have any choice but to plan for life without Beasley. I agree with Gunner that the offense's base will feature Sanders in the slot, but it's nice to know the Bills have options, and I think they will use them in order to confuse defenses. I could imagine Brian Daboll designing players for Isaiah Hodgins in the slot, assuming he makes the 53 man roster. The challenge of covering him would be very different from the challenge of covering Sanders or McKenzie. McKenzie I'm sure, will be in the slot for a lot of plays as well through the season.
  13. I knew Chuck Christ in high school. Not well - he was a few years older than me, but I watched him play high school football through his whol varsity career.
  14. The challenge in evaluating head coaches is in deciding how to weight different areas. If you weight team performance over a period of time, a great coach who comes into a terrible situation is going to lose early on. It will take a number of years to lift the team's (and coach's) win/loss ratio to the lofty numbers to get him counted as a top coach. David Culley could be an amazing head coach, and nobody's going to know it for years, except maybe some of the players. John Harbaugh is a solid coach, but I have to wonder about one thing. He went all in on Lamar Jackson, not just in drafting him, but in hiring an offensive coordinator whose pet scheme fits Jackson's unique skill set. Smart decision? Maybe. But there is a possibility that Jackson's unique, but limited skill set is also going to create a ceiling for the Ravens that they can never break to win it all. It may be that Harbaugh is good enough that Baltimore is never going to be in the position of being able to draft a true franchise QB who can lead his team to another Super Bowl win.
  15. I think Efi Obada has a chance to make the roster over Addison. He is physically more adapted to the LDE spot than Addison.
  16. Addison is going to struggle to make the Bills roster, but I'm not sure how much trade value he has. At best, maybe a late round pick if a team is feeling the need. The Bills probably have more trade value in some of their extra offensive guards.
  17. He's not on the list for the same reason Richard Sherman isn't. Both are past 30, though Sherman is a couple years older. Both, I'm sure, are hoping for a multi year deal, but no team wants to risk a multiyear deal with a premium paycheck on a player who could hit the proverbial wall at any time.
  18. Interestingly, Wikipedia already states that Ertz is a member of the Buffalo Bills. Just google his name and click on the Wikipedia link if you need to double check. My guess is somebody jumped the gun as there is no confirmation in any other sporting news outlet as of yet.
  19. The question really is, how easy will it be for Rousseau to add some muscle mass. He's never going to be the kind of DE that beats an offensive tackle with speed and bend around the edge. I think he has some quickness and the ability to get "slippery" but he's going to need more strength to be effective. I have seen people question whether he can add that muscle mass, but I don't know of any reason why he can't.
  20. The Chiefs are loaded in so many areas. It certainly won't hurt the Bills if Clark's actions make him unavailable to the team. Any little ***** in their armor helps.
  21. I thought robots are only allowed in the league offices.
  22. I think the defensive line has the potential to be much improved. However rookies can always disappoint. What I most expect is that Sean McDermott/Leslie Frazier plan to use a heavy rotation on the defensive line. Moreover, if the play of the rookies allows it, I expect a great deal of moving around in the line. Jerry Hughes is going to be on one end or another when he's on the field, and Star Lotulelei will be at 1 tech when he's on the field. Everybody else is subject being moved around. Harrison Phillips can play either DT spot. Rousseau and Basham can move in side, if we can believe the early buzz out of OTAs and mini-camp. Oliver can, and probably will play anywhere, though I expect his play at 1 tech will be greatly reduced this season. Epenesa can, like the rookies, move inside. I think Justin Zimmer can probably move around too. Some of the holdovers, like Mario Addison, are less flexible, and that may mean it'll be harder for them to make the team
  23. I agree. Obviously, they are not all going to break out in the upcoming season, but more than one might. Gabe Davis is still going to have to pick up touches when he can. He may not get many more chances than last season unless Beasley makes good on his threat to retire over COVID restrictions. Same thing with Epenesa. I think he's going to be significantly better, but it looks like McDermott is going to use a heavy rotation. Tremaine Edmunds may have the biggest opportunity to break out. The line has a chance to be much better in front of him, and that could open up all sorts of opportunities to make plays. Singletary and Moss could both be better with a little improvement on the offensive line (a healthy Cody Ford and better depth) but it's still going to be primarily a passing offense, and Matt Brieda is going to take some reps. Ed Oliver is another player who has a solid chance not only to be better, but to make a splash. I don't know what the percentages are, but I think a significant percentage of his play in 2021 was at 1 tech, and 1 tech does not lend itself to stats or splash plays. Ideal, he'll play almost all the time at 3 tech, and maybe even a few times outside as McDermott tries to change things up. The pressure is Knox and Ford to live up to their potential. For Dane Jackson, it is a matter of beating out Levi Wallace and Rashad Wildgoose for the starting spot across from Tre White.
  24. I think Mac Jones is pretty smart. As you say, we really don't know a whole lot. One thing we do know is that college performance is an unreliable predictor of pro performance. Sometimes things carry over and sometimes they don't. Some people may remember a college QB who came out with a simply remarkable stat with regard to TDs and interceptions. I don't remember the exact numbers, but he threw an astounding number of TDs and had almost no interceptions. His name was Geno Smith. People may recall the crash and burn he experienced with the Jets.
