  1. As a fan, I view Wallace more as a depth player. If the Bills pay him 9 mil per year, that means they see him as a starter. I would rather not see that.
  2. I agree that Lamar Jackson is in a better place than Mayfield. He made the pro bowl for one thing, though I have no idea how he could have, comparing his stats with Josh Allen's. The main reason is that the Ravens went all in with Lamar Jackson's skill set when they hired Greg Roman as their OC, and built the team around Jackson's skill set. If the Ravens move on from Jackson, it means a considerable rebuild as there just aren't that many elite QBs with a skill set that's compatible with Jackson and the offense Roman has designed. As long as John Harbaugh thinks there is a possibility of winning with Jackson, I think the Ravens will try to hold on to him.
  3. This year, more than some, there wouldn't be much point in a lottery. A number of pundits doubt that there are any prospects even worthy of the #1 overall pick, certainly no QBs. Most mocks have a defensive end going #1 overall, but there is not even unananimity about which one. I don't think #25 is a bad place to be at all this year. The Bills can get a good player and not have to pay nearly the money required early in the first round for contracts
  4. Sometimes coordinators leave because they had aspirations of landing the head coaching job and feel slighted when they don't get consideration. That may have had something to do with Jim Schwartz leaving the Bills for the Eagles a few years back.
  5. The problem is, their extra picks come in the last two rounds. As trade capital, they're not going to get you much of a return. If Davis drops into the 20s, they you can start to think about bundling them with #25. If you want to get real aggressive, it'll cost you picks that might otherwise turn into players who have a real chance to make the team. It depends on how badly you want him. BTW, I think he could be a real good addition to the Dline.
  6. I don't think the odds of Tyler Lindenbaum being available are much higher than Jordan Davis. There is IMO a slim possibility. If the bills go for BPA, I'd be intrigued by Jamison Williams. It's almost a guarantee that there will be a cornerback available at #25 who represents decent value. I do think the Bills need to upgrade there. It would be nice if Andrew Booth were available, but it might end up being Trent McDuffie or Roger McCreary. There are also some offensive linemenI would mind in a Bills uniform: Kenyon Green or Darian Kinnard.
  7. I'd like to see Daryl Williams stick around. Everybody else on the OP's list is easily expendable.
  8. Yeah, Rochester has been named the best pizza city in the country. There are probably 15 pizza restaurants within a 5 minute drive of my house. The closest one happens to be Giuseppi's, the oldest pizza restaurant in the Rochester area.
  9. As has been suggested, tackling has become more of a problem in the NFL because of the lack of opportunity for full contact practices in training camp, and that is governed by the agreement between the league and the players association. I can't remember the formal term for that agreement at the moment (senior moment).
  10. Brady has worked with Jordan Palmer and should be on the same page as Palmer with regards to Josh Allen's development. He's highly regarded. Buffalo Rumblings thinks Buffalo hit a home run with this signing.
  11. Frazier is sticking around as far as I know. I think Dorsey gives the Bills sufficient continuity to to build on the past two years rather than take a step back.
  12. I prefer not to consider that possibility.
  13. I think Trubisky might be hard to retain. If he can sign somewhere that he has better odds of getting on the field, he'll grab the opportunity. I could live with any of the three in the middle of the list: Darnold, Mariota, Webb. They all have some mobility like Allen. They all have good arms, if not at Allen's level, and they have decent mobility. All three lack consistency, which is why we're talking about them as backups. I think any of the three would come at an affordable price, and Buffalo's coaches have proven to be adept at putting players, including QBs in a position to succeed. The knock on Trubisky in Chicago was inconsistency, and he did fine as Allen's backup.
  14. If Ross tried to bribe Flores to lose games as Flores alleges, I think it has less to do with gambling than Ross's desire for the #1 overall draft pick that year. I've heard plenty of Bills fans in hears past, when the Bills were bad, advocate losing for a better draft position. That doesn't make it right, but I think it's separate issue from the whole gambling thing.
  15. With the success that Buffalo has had on offense over the past 2 years, I expect that Dorsey will do more tweaking of the present system and play calling, and less overhauling. Could he call more 12 personnel plays? Yeah, some, but I don't expect it to become a staple.
  16. Back when we heard reports about Josh Allen's Senior Bowl week, my reaction was that I was "intrigued." I thought he had elite traits, but needed development. I understood at the time that having elite traits does not guarantee success in the league. I think Ryan Leaf had some pretty elite traits too. Now Malik Willis: If I were a QB needy team I would be intrigued by him, but I would understand the risk. There is always a risk in drafting any QB. Most never become starting caliber QBs in the NFL. Even first round QBs are hit or miss, and few every become elite out of all who are drafted. But if you need a QB, it's nearly impossible to obtain a proven veteran. If you draft a QB, it's rare that you can find a QB who has both polish and a full set of elite traits, ala Josh Allen. So the teams looking for QBs in the upcoming draft will have to decide if they want to take a chance that a QB who has plenty of experience in a high level college program has enough of a skill set to help a team make the playoffs and maybe win a Super Bowl (the risk New England took with Mac Jones), or do they take a chance on a freak of nature from a school like Liberty University. I have nothing against the guy, and the team that drafts him may or may not end up with a great one. I'm just glad Buffalo took a chance on Josh Allen, and it turned out the way it did.
  17. My reaction to all this stuff coming out of New York: Don't hire Jason Garret to be the Bills new OC.
  18. I hope is someone who incorporates Erhardt-Perkins and is creative. I don't want the Bills to have to reinvent the wheel on offense.
  19. It's a lose - lose for New England and the Raiders! I love it!
  20. I don't think there's any reason Buffalo couldn't win the Super Bowl with Singletary as their feature back, but I've said before (and gotten plenty of negative emojis for it) that Singletary is limited, and Buffalo can't successfully do as many things with him as they might with a more complete back. If you can upgrade, you should, but if there are other positions where an upgrade is more critical (I'm thinking CB and DT) you'd better do those first.
  21. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me for Dorey to leave Buffalo. It's not just the difference between the Buffalo and NY Giants offense, (and starting QB) and the likelihood that Buffalo will be a playoff caliber team for several years, it's the fact that in NY he would always be the second ranked offensive minded guy on the coaching staff. If Dorsey is confident, he has what it takes to be the offensive guru of his team, it seems to me as if he would be less comfortable having an offensive minded head coach looking over his shoulder. If Dorsey is not that confident, and wants to be able to go to his head coach for advice ono drawing up plays, I'm not sure I want him for my OC.
  22. I'd be OK with any of the first three options. I'm not so enthusiastic about trading away multiple draft picks.
  23. I'd love to have Metcalf. The biggest obstacle to making a trade would be the contract he's due to earn when his rookie deal is up. The success Buffalo has enjoyed has mad managing the salary cap more challenging. For that reason I think Beane would steer clear of that deal. He doesn't tend to splurge like that for what might end up being a short term gain.
  24. Just 13 seconds and Buffalo could have been in the Super Bowl.
