  1. I don't think he'll ever develop into a regular on defense, but his versatility is a plus and his value on special teams is considerable. It's probably a fair contract.
  2. I think the NE Patriots have an expectation that players will give them a discount because of their two decade dynasty status while Tom Brady was their QB. Players are supposed to want to play for New England for the opportunity to win Super Bowl rings. The problem for New England is that has worn off, and now players want market rate. The Patriots haven't figured that out yet.
  3. Another early target at WR could be Treylon Burks. He's a big bodies WR kind of between DK Metcalf and AJ Brown. He should have around a 4.4 40 or better at over 230 lbs.
  4. I'd be happy with Williams. There would be some development that would need to happen, but he's got the freakish athleticism to make one drool. My guess is he would not be a huge producer in his rookie year, but a team that is patient might have a real game breaker in a couple years. It Buffalo didn't draft Williams, they might take a look at Calvin Austin III a bit later in the draft. He's smaller - 5'9" but has a Tyreek Hill like skill set and speed. He'll likely be the fastest prospect in the draft.
  5. It would be a huge stretch for him to coach anything besides safety. He's really young anyway, but his only college experience is coaching safety.
  6. He could do that with Tom Brady.
  7. With Junior coaching them, the Bills' linebackers should be good dropping unto coverage.
  8. I think Ryan Bates will start at left guard for Buffalo. The biggest question on the offensive line in my mind is whether or not Daryl Williams could be a cap casualty next season. If he stays, then Buffalo won't need any new starters. However Boettger is a free agent and Feliciano might be a cap casualty as his production seems not to justify his contract any more. Buffalo might sign a value free agent and draft a guard with starter upside. He wouldn't need to start until Daryl Williams' contract is up.
  9. I think he has more earning potential even as a backup QB than he has as an assistant coach at the moment. If he wants it, he can get a QB coach gig after he retires.
  10. The problem with Buffalo's young edge rushers is none of them are fast or have a lot of bend. They've been depending on Addison and Hughes for that, but every year a little more of their athleticism erodes away. My feeling is that only one of that pair is likely to be back. I'm OK with keeping the young guys and continuing to develop them. I think they have upside to develop, but I think they need to add some younger speed. Whether that comes via the draft or free agency doesn't matter all that much to me.
  11. I'd say Burrows is about the 4th best QB in the AFC. Hopefully, Kyle Brandt and Kay Adams can set Schrager straight.
  12. Sounds like it's time. Beane seems to want to keep Beasley. If the Bills keep him and manage to re-sign McKenzie, then maybe they use Stevenson when they want speed on the outside to pair with Diggs. I'm assuming Gabe Davis is being looked at as a starter on the outside with Diggs, but while he's not slow, he's no burner. I believe it is important for Beane to be cognizant of team speed, especially at the skill positions on offense as well as defensive back, linebacker and edge rusher on defense.
  13. Lip synced or not, Whitney Houston had an amazing set of pipes. She was gone too soon.
  14. He was being facetious. Before the draft, Josh Rosen was touted by many as the most NFL ready QB. He was smart and philosophical, a real "Rennaisance man." Our Josh Allen just didn't get that much attention. In the draft,, a number of observers thought Buffalo should have drafted Josh Rosen. Hence, he was seen as the "right" Josh. Ridgeway likes Josh Allen and agrees the Bills made the right choice. He's using sarcasm too diss all who thought otherwise a few years ago. Josh Allen was indeed the smartest QB in that draft.
  15. I think there are probably more good guys in the NFL than bad apples. The bad apples, however, always seem to have a way of grabbing our attention.
  16. Well, I think Josh Allen is far superior to Mac Jones too, but Keyshawn Jones doesn't have a great deal of credibility. I seem to remember he thought Josh Allen was a loser a couple years ago.
  17. I don't try to narrow it down to one pick I have to have. I'd rule out a bunch of players on that list. I'd be happy with Jermaine Johnson, Jordan Davis, Kenyon Green, Jamison Williams, Andrew Booth or Kaiir Elam. I could live with Trent McDuffie or Roger McCreary.
  18. I want to like Moss, but the problem with depending on him as a power back is he always going to be undersized. He may have power for his size, but power and size go together. Being smallish, there's only so much power he can pack into his frame.
  19. If Sanders and McKenzie are gone, I vote for speed. If the Bills think he's the BPA at #25, I'd be very happy with Jameson Williams. He happens to have good size at 6'2", but also has 4.3 speed. He'd go higher except he had an ACL tear in the college post season. If the Bills don't go that route, I like a receiver I just learned about at Buffalo Rumblings. Calvin Austin III is small, but may be the fastest player in the draft. The Bills could get him in the second round and possibly the third, though the third round might take a trade up. It would give the Bills a Tyreek Hill like receiver.
  20. Very true. You end up having to pay out an elite level contract for a player who might end up being only very good, and the odds are decent that any of half a dozen players picked after #1 could end up having as much or more impact for their team.
  21. If we don't hire Dopey I'm OK.
  22. Jumping 25 spots in round 1 is an insane draft strategy, and probably impossible. Add to that the fact that Aiden Hutchinson may have less value as a #1 overall pick than any #1 overall pick in the last 5 years at least, and you have a no brainer for a "No way" answer. Frankly, I pity the Jaguars for having picked this year of all years to secure the #1 pick. Beane should be run out of the building before the start of Round 2 if he makes that trade. Have I made my answer clear enough?
  23. I'm happy to have him out of the AFC. Good hire for Daboll.
  24. The branches of the Belichick coaching tree have always been heavily pruned by the rest of the league.
  25. Has he started because the Bills thought he was a quality #2 CB, or because they've felt they could get by with him playing that role while they upgraded other areas that needed more urgent attention?
