  1. Because of the cap hit, we would need to trade Addison instead of releasing him, and I don't think there will be any takers for $8 Million I think Jerry Hughes stays with us for one final season and retires a Bill. Darryl Johnson would only be kept because of his special teams prowess, but maybe Rousseau or Boogie can fill that role as a rookie. I was excited about Obada, but he's had a quiet training camp and may not be a lock to make the 53
  2. In 2018 we could barely get a proper team out on the field and it was mainly a year to eat our dead cap money and start from scratch. Considering the lack of talent and that Nathan Peterman began as our starting qb, 6 wins is pretty remarkable. Josh Allen led the team in rushing yards and had more rushing tds than everyone else on the team combined in only 12 games. Robert Foster and Zay Jones had career years (Zay led in yards and tds) and then both fell off the map since. I think we all remember the Vontae Davis halftime retirement 🤣 The media has this narrative that Josh Allen "came out of nowhere" to become a star qb, but in 2018 he won games with bad protection and bargain-bin receivers with little more than willpower and his running ability. Putting most rookie qbs in that situation may have wrecked their careers (David Carr, Tim Couch, Sam Darnold (too soon?) Josh is wired to thrive in adversity and that's why I have zero regrets about paying him the big bucks.
  3. Maybe he'll follow in Dan Morgan's footsteps and go from Panthers linebacker to Bills scout, to a management position.
  4. Bobby Hart didn't play well Friday but until the coaching staff trusts Brown and Doyle in pass protection, he isn't going anywhere. I believe we'll sign a better veteran OT after the next round of cuts. Maybe we can swap a wr or de for a decent backup. I feel like Doyle will get a mysterious injury after the 3rd preseason game and get stashed on IR.
  5. I think it might be easier to just move the team instead of the whole city
  6. We rarely carried 3 rb's on gameday (poor TJ Yeldon 😢) and now with Reggie Gilliam moving to FB, I don't see how we carry 3 guys unless one stands out on special teams.
  7. If they start 0-4, you should just give your buddy that bottle during the season to help him through it.
  8. Rousseau's 1st NFL action: 11 pass-rushing snaps 3 Pressures 1 Sack And this was against the Lions starting offensive line
  9. Those last two throws to a rb going out of bounds at the line of scrimmage accomplished nothing. We won mainly because of bad clock management by Dan Campbell. Maybe he intentionally left time on the clock to see his defense play against a hurry-up offense in crunch time.
  10. Singletary looks faster stronger, and more motivated. He's hitting the hole hard instead of stutter-stepping repeatedly behind the line. After tonight I am very confident that Andre Smith could step in for Edmunds or Milano and play well. For a guy I knew little about heading into this game, Josh Thomas stood out with some key stops. I am not confident in any of our backup offensive tackles. Hart, Brown and Doyle got beat badly by the pass-rush and forced our qbs to get the ball out before routes could develop. McCloud had a PI penalty (that shouldn't have been called) but looked solid in pass coverage. Rousseau's reach looks so long he could sack a qb from the bench.
  11. The officiating in the NE/WAS game has been terrible! Incorrectly ruled catches, false starts, bad spots, and late hits out of bounds not called.
  12. I think Justin Fields will be considered the best in this class in 5 years. Chicago isn't known for being an offensive juggernaut, but I think he has a great skill-set. I think Trey Lance will also be successful because of his athleticism, supporting cast, and offensive staff. There's something about Trevor Lawrence that makes me think he won't be a good NFL qb, but it's purely a gut feeling. Zach Wilson put up big numbers against weak opponents in college, but I do think he has a good arm. If you watch his tape, his wide stance in the pocket and his scrambling have an uncanny resemblance to Josh Allen, but I don't think he'll be anywhere near as good. The Jets will find a way to squander his talent
  13. Dan Campbell after realizing Goff is absolutely terrible without McVay and he has a contract with over $100 Million guaranteed
  14. Tom Brady was the main reason for the Patriots' success until proven otherwise. They have gotten better in the offseason with the signing of Matt Judon and drafting Christian Barmore on defense, and getting Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry at TE, plus some depth at WR. I know they have a complicated offense, but Cam didn't seem ready physically or mentally to run it. They will be a much better team this season, but I think the Dolphins are still our biggest competition for the division.
  15. It worked for the Patriots with OG Stephen Neal www.patriots.com/news/stephen-neal-s-unique-journey-to-the-nfl-has-proven-successful-133321
  16. The one thing we lack is a hybrid lb like Lorax who can cover and rush the passer. We sometimes blitz lbs up the middle, but we don't have anyone who can beat blocks 1-on-one with linemen. There needs to be the threat of the edge rushers dropping into coverage or else the offense will just get the ball out quick and dink-and-dunk us to death.
  17. We play in 46 front situationally, but only a small fraction of the time. The Bills played 90% of their snaps in nickel last season to lead the league. I think they will experiment with other fronts to make use of our abundance of pass rushers, but 3 cb's is the new normal.
  18. I would rather draft a RT in round one than a guard. If a tackle can't handle edge rushers at the NFL level, a lot of the time they can kick inside to guard and have a decent career. Quentin Nelson is one of the few 1st round guards to actually play up to his draft status. It usually doesn't make sense to take a guard that early because they can be signed in free agency pretty cheap (Feliciano makes only about $5 Million/year). In order to play Tackle in the NFL, you need to have a rare combination of size and agility that 99.9% of humans simply don't have. There are plenty of average athletes who perfect their technique and become solid NFL guards.
  19. I'd rather watch a can of bud light float down the pee trough at the Ralph than watch a show about the Cowboys.
  20. I've lived in Buffalo all my life and I was just a toddler during the Superbowl years. I actually found a home movie from when I was 2 years old celebrating Bruce Smith's sack for a safety in Superbowl XXV. I remember the excitement of those years and believing that the Bills playing in the Superbowl was just a given. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I actually learned all of the positions and rules of football, just in time to fully understand the Bills' 17 years of futility 🤣
  21. This is pretty spot-on. The only thing I'd change is putting Siran Neal at nickel corner instead of safety, then Hamlin to SS as Poyer's backup.
  22. There's just a logjam at the position this year. We have 4 roster locks with Diggs, Beasley, Davis, Sanders. After that we have McKenzie (who has shown he can play well in the slot, on jet sweeps, and may be our punt/kick returner), Hodgins who looked good before his injury last year, Stevenson who might get stashed away on the practice squad, and then Kumerow. He will need to win the job based on his special teams ability, and he will likely need to beat out Taiwan Jones (even though he's technically listed at rb). I just think Aaron Rodgers may make another trade demand to reunite with Kumerow and they'll probably need to overpay.
