  1. I would attribute his comments to having to fill 30 minutes and wanting to create a hot take to stir up discussion. Herbert is a great young qb, but saying that someone is a lock for the HOF after 18 starts is not wise. Consider some of these recent young players that started on that track and had their careers derailed: Shawne Merriman (40 sacks in first 3 years) Josh Freeman (2nd season had 3400 yards, 25TD-6INT) Peyton Hillis and Vince Young (both made the cover of madden. Vince won ROY) Steve Slaton (won rookie of the year) RGIII (ROY) There are countless others, but these were the first to come to mind. Success in the NFL requires constant improvement and durability. One fluke injury can ruin a guy's whole career. I think once a guy has played at a high level over a decade we can start to have the discussion over whether he's HOF worthy.
  2. The Bills will win, but I don't think it will be the blowout that most expect. Houston won in week 1 against Jacksonville and stayed in the game against Cleveland. They couldn't get much going on offense against the Panthers, but they had a rookie qb making his first start. Mills didn't show a great command of the offense, but he didn't look rattled and got the ball out very quickly. He looked great on a hurry-up drive that resulted in a TD against Carolina and I would expect more no-huddle from him today. They have a stable of running backs at their disposal and if they can get the run game going, they can shorten the game and keep Allen off the field. Final Prediction: Bills: 23 Texans: 17 Houston will play a respectable game, but the Bills' offensive talent will be too much for them to handle
  3. True, I think there was one season Spikes and Winfield played together before he went to the Minnesota. I'm still p!$$ed off that we lost him and Pat Williams to the Vikings in consecutive off-seasons. The Bills thought their best playing days were behind them and they went on to each have 3 pro-bowl seasons in Minnesota.
  4. Back when Takeo played for us, that was a really fun defense to watch. With Takeo, Fletcher, Clements, Milloy, Pat Williams, Sam Adams, and Schobel it was pretty much the AFC Pro Bowl team
  5. I disagree with Hargreaves. He was drafted high, but he has never played particularly well. I would much rather have Wallace or Jackson over him.
  6. The Texans have a questionable offensive line (even Tunsil hasn't played well) but Davis Mills has been getting rid of the ball so quickly that the pass rush doesn't have a chance to get there. Mills will try to hit on quick slants over the middle and it's up to our linebackers and nickel cbs to take away those easy throws. I think Taron Johnson will be targeted frequently and will make big plays to show everyone why resigning him will be the biggest priority of the off-season.
  7. They'll lose 29 in a row, but finally get a win against the Jets to end the streak
  8. I think this is the game where Diggs takes over. William Jackson was Washington's biggest free agent addition on defense and he has looked absolutely lost in their scheme. Their pass rush will be a problem so we will need to rely on short passes over the middle of the field. I think Diggs gets 10+ catches and helps get the offense back on track.
  9. You're better off buying a nice tv and a comfy recliner to watch Bills games because at the end of the day you'll actually own those.
  10. He made some huge plays down the stretch last year and has been solid so far this season. I think he will only continue to increase his value with his play. Next year Hughes/Addison/Butler will probably be gone and free up $25 Million in cap space. The franchise tag is still probably off-limits since it doesn't differentiate between slot and outside cornerbacks and would cost over $15 Milllion against the cap with no way of restructuring it. We need to hope that he's willing to sign a team-friendly contract or we'll need to get a replacement early in next year's draft. It's week 3 and we're already shorthanded at the cb position.
  11. I thought he would at least contribute on special teams. I think teams are trying to stash away players considering it's a 17 game season. I think we're just keeping Boogie inactive so we can rotate him in in a few weeks and give someone else a rest.
  12. As long as it doesn't get blocked (like it was last week) delaying the punt gives the gunners more time to get downfield to make the tackle before the returner can get to full speed
  13. Even if Levi is fine, we need depth at cb. Dunbar looked great a couple years ago and he could thrive in our scheme. I just hope all the off-the-field issues are behind him.
  14. Considering that we're up against the cap, it wouldn't make sense to resign any of them. We drafted defensive ends back-to-back because we wanted to get younger and cheaper at the position. I expect the Bills to be pretty quiet in free agency for the foreseeable future.
  15. I checked the roster and we only have 6 guys over 30. I also noticed that a lot of our rookies are older than you'd think. Hamlin, Doyle, Brown, and Basham are all 23. I think our scouting department prioritizes 4 year starters and stays away from one-year-wonders (Rousseau being an exception)
  16. Week 1 kneejerk reactions won't age well. Pittsburg is a playoff team. We played poorly and lost by a flukey special teams TD. If Pittsburgh can adjust to having a sub-par offensive line by getting rid of the ball quicker than so can we.
  17. Ben got rid of the ball so quickly that it was difficult to assess his pass rush skills. As a whole the line looked solid and did a good job against the run. I think he'll have a bigger impact next week.
  18. With the scratches of Moss and Basham I think the Bills will have rotating inactives at RB and the defensive line in order to keep guys fresh over the course of a 17 game season (hopefully 20 or 21 for us)
  19. They'll be wearing the all white uniforms John Hussey will be the referee
  20. I think it's just a boxing bell sound effect. This isn't the exact one but it's close
  21. I would like us to continue to be known as the fanbase that bombards charities with donations
  22. I don't work for you anymore Mr. Kraft! You'll need to find someone else to put oil on your footlong!
  23. Russells by far. It's not right in the city, but it's worth the drive out to Williamsville. Best steak in WNY for reasonable prices and always excellent service
  24. It's for the best in the long run in a survivor pool. Neither one is a good team, but the Jaguars are on the rise with some good free agent signings and a potential star rookie quarterback. The Texans have an incredibly distracting situation with Deshaun Watson and a stopgap qb in Tyrod. They lost their offensive star in Hopkins last season and now lost the best defensive player in franchise history in JJ Watt. I Believe the GM consciously wants the team to tank so they can get a new qb #1 overall next year.
