  1. Sounds like you unfortunately still got stuck with about 15 minutes of garbage! It did not end! There were like 9 staged "events" that had to take place before the damned kickoff. It used to be the singing of the national anthem, and then we played football. Next year I am going to watch tape delayed so I can FF. IT is insufferable watching non-Bills game in a live format. There's more crap than actual football.
  2. You ask for one thing but I can't fire anyone? That's stupid. The 1 thing I would do, BY FAR, would be to get an experienced play caller in here to be the OC. And that would necessitate firing Dorsey. I think that is, by far, the 1 single move that would improve this team the MOST next season. Secondary would be to do anything that improves the offensive line. Third would be to get another stud receiver to share the burden with Diggs. This isn't rocket science. Last thing I would do is tinker with the defense.
  3. No one here thinks Josh is a liability. Josh is favored like that, likely, because he is perceived around the country as by far the best player on a team that doesn't have a lot of supporting cast. I.E., we would be nothing without him. That's a good calculus for determining who is the MVP. Mahomes has worse odds b/c there's way more talent to share the glory in KC, including Kelce and coaching.
  4. Slight regression coming our way next season, almost for sure. Will be surprised if we hit our win total and playoff "success" achieved this year.
  5. Without punishment for mistakes, there can be no accountability. Does punishment need to extend to termination? No, certainly not always. Though I'm not sure what other forms of it exist in a football coaching context. Failure to hit salary incentives in a K? Maybe.
  6. It evolved into something entirely different this past season. It's becoming common now for plays to end with giant pushing scrums and huge offensive linemen running up to join the scrum and push for another yard or 2. Doesn't really require any skill and put player safety in jeopardy. And it mostly happens after forward motion is stopped or basically stopped. It doesn't feel like something that should be a legal part of the game, at least to me.
  7. The funny thing is that for most of his career, Andy Reid was the guy who "couldn't get it done." McDermott is a weak link in the Bills chain. Someone just calculated that Sean Payton, alone, is worth 1 full win per season for Denver a HC. I would suggest McDermott is a MINUS ONE per season. He'll lose you a game (or 2) per season through inept coaching.
  8. And then McDermott needs to actually allow the rookies to play in the games, preferably early in the season.
  9. OK! Here is the guy who is going to get the roster spot. Tom Stoltman...a world's strongest man competitor from Scotland. He's 6'8" and 408 lbs. He squats 761 pounds and can dead lift 790 pounds. Teach him to snap the ball, and then move anything in front of him backward. Josh comes up from behind and stretches him arms out and that's at least 2 or 3 yards right there.
  10. I saw nothing tonight that was noteworthy, or that I would want to watch again. This has been going on for so long now, I no longer expect to see really funny/good/memorable commercials during the SB. It's become more of the garbage piled on the hype heap. I did have to laugh at the beginning of the game, though. There were about NINE staged "events" that had to take place before they actually kicked the damned ball off.
  11. I agree being able to get 1 yard on demand is hugely tactically important. But the "roster spot" shouldn't go to the ball carrier. How about to a monster center to plow the path for the ball carrier. Get some nose guard in here and teach him to snap the ball. Some guy who's ass is bigger than my body. I'm talking 360 lbs to begin with, in like a 6'2" frame. 😳
  12. I would imagine a LOT of people here spend ALL THEIR TIME on the internet... These sorts used to be the weird loner down the street who kept to himself.. Now their behavior has become normalized with the advent of the internet, and the use of technology to make it possible to not have to leave your house. Awesome!
  13. Nah, he's just not a very good coach (i.e., in-game manager). And yes, he's also the wrong sort of guy for the era we are in now. Have a look at how many HCs of the playoff teams this were came from the offensive side of the ball. Have a look at how many newly hired head coaches (this year and in recent years) have come from the defensive side of the ball. Whoops!
  14. This is a community to exchange thoughts and ideas. The problem with a LOT of members here is that they think this is supposed to be a Bills Booster Club, filled with mindless enthusiasm for anything and all things Bills related. The moment others approach it as a forum for critical thought and discussion, the Booster Club type (i.e., kool aid drinkers) get upset. They spend most of their time attacking and commenting on other posters and Bills fans, not the actual team or sport of football. Sounds like this is the camp the OP is in; toughen up. If only the kool aid folks would go away into their own "it's all going to be perfect" bubble...and leave those of us who want to live in reality alone to actually discuss the team, there would be very little in-fighting here. I have found the last couple of weeks to be a breath of fresh air, because so many Bills Booster/Kool Aid types are long gone. Whatever happened to YoloinOhio? Was his soul crushed? As he posted here since the Bengals game? What is he, a fair weather fan only?
  15. I just bought a new refrigerator and did not buy an extended warranty because it's a sucker play as you say. Note that I did not buy the cheapest thing I could find with an "LG" or "Sanyo" brand name at Best Buy however. I got a gorgeous Miele unit that is expensive, but gets impeccable reviews, and that makes sense: it's German. The good stuff being made today will last for a long time just like the old days. You have to avoid cheap crap. You get what you pay for.
  16. Giulio, it's going to get harder next year. Way too early right now to judge things like this however. We have to see how each of the teams handles the off-season. There are contract restructures, losing players, acquiring players in free agency, and the draft! Each of these teams will look different in September than they do now. They are talking about Aaron Rodgers maybe going to the Jets. If he goes there, yes, they could compete for the division next year. It's way too early to be worried about this stuff. Now is the time to get ready for the upcoming F1 season (New Ferrari will be unveiled in Maranello on Tuesday!) and maybe do some research for the draft. Forza Ferrari!
  17. Look at the 13 second tragedy, paid for with the head of the....special teams coach? And then in a year of nothing but injuries to our safety corps, they fire the safeties coach? This is how McDermott rolls.
  18. Well, when the Sabres were garbage for a decade, fans wanted Eichel and Reinhart gone...and when they went, they were happy. So you never know. I couldn't care less what Diggs tweets; I don't do twitter for a reason. Get him out there and throw him the ball...he and Josh are the 2 most valuable possessions of this entire franchise. It's not Beane, it's definitely not McDermott...and it sure ain't our offensive or defensive lines!
  19. Absolutely this is true! So many years of failure is like a form of narrative tension, and the story is pretty darned interesting at this point. That is absolutely what makes so many die hard Bills fans die hard. Let's say we won SB XXV, and then went on to appear in 2 more, and win 1 more SB. So the Kelly/Thurman Bills were 2 for 3 in the big show. I genuinely believe very few of us would still be here living and dying with every little piece of Bills related news. This is how it worked for me when the Sox won in 2004...after that, nothing ever mattered, almost at all! I was a WAY more hardcore Red Sox fan in the '90s than I am now. Way more!
  20. Do you think your opinion is biased at all because you are a Bills fan? Josh is probably 3rd right now...not that it matters. You can win a SB with the 3rd best QB in the game too.
  21. So how does the kool aid krowd spin this one? His K was up and we didn't want to re-sign him? He didn't buy into the process? He doesn't care about winning a championship? Maybe he'd rather live in Florida and not WNY?
  22. Someone from the "done" crowd, please provide a link to anyone, anywhere on this website, suggesting the Bills are "done." Thanks.
  23. I have been DYING TO KNOW what your name is, Giulio! Now I know! I'm about a year older than you, of Italian ancestry, also love good food and cooking good Italian food...and am a huge Juventus fan. I have been wondering if you also follow Juve. You live in Juve country for sure!
