Saying you don't like the pizza in Buffalo is like saying you don't like the beer in Germany. Germany has over 8,000 independent brewers and they make all kinds of diverse beers from dry Pils beers to dark Schwarzbier to wheat beer to everything in between. There are certain pizzerias in Buffalo I don't like AT ALL, but then there are others that I love. The pizza is as diverse as the pizzerias, and there are a million of them.

I'm not sure Brady qualifies as a young whiz kid, but I think he might... And that's just the type of guy I would like to fill the coaching staff with. I hope we go more passing, more offense, more attack, more Josh involvement....and try to get 40 on the board in every game we play.

I would probably get back into college football long before I would get into the USFL, or CFL, or any other pro league not named NFL.

Are you the "math" guy who has commented throughout this thread? Please explain directly how "math" has proven there is no life in the universe, other than on Earth. Thanks.

Thursday night games to cost Amazon Prime customers more

This is the approach I will follow for a TNF game, if it actually appeals to me. They are usually terrible matchups (maybe that will change with the new TV K). The reality is I will probably just learn to skip TNF most of the time, and that is OK with me. I can just picture some random TNF game being Chicago vs. Detroit, or Houston vs. Atlanta, and me not even willing to go through the bother of watching it through "alternative means" via the internet. I had to laugh when my friend talked about buying a 4K TV some years ago--she is the sort of person who has to have the latest electronic gadget. I told her the world is not even caught up to 1080 HD yet, and now they want to jump to 4K? I have literally hundreds of TV channels through Comcast cable, and the vast majority of them are not even HD...still, in 2022. As a side note, I have noticed how many live sporting events look like utter crap and are clearly not high definition. Also, a lot of on-field cameras that they will switch to now and again are not in HD, while the main camera shot is! And while on the topic of the technical aspects of broadcasting sports, ever notice that the sound level on all FOX broadcasts is utter garbage? It's quiet and muted, like the audio channel of the guys talking is coming out of a turned down speaker with a sock in front of it, but the other channel with "crowd noise" is louder and crisp. It's the same for TNT when they invariably broadcast MLB playoff games in the fall. Their technical quality is the worst in professional sports broadcasting in America. It's horrible. -
As it's so brilliantly on display in this very thread!

Ohio Turnpike Snow Plow Damages 40+ Vehicles and Injures 12

This is unbelievable. Wonder what the IQ of the driver is. Probably below whatever the ambient air temperature was on that day. -
Also fitting that a guy whose reputation is built around being the smartest guy in the room creates this controversy because he sent a text message to the wrong guy. As though he's not quite sure how to work a cell phone.

Dorsey ran a lot of 12 personnel packages

I really hope we don't see much of what he was doing in Coral Gables. College football and NFL football are different animals. -
I'm glad he's totally out of the AFC East picture for sure. Why change what ain't broken? We are lucky to be dominant at a time when Miami, the Jets, and even the Patriots are down. As long as we can win our division without that much fuss, we get that automatic invitation to the post season dance, and that's all we need to win a SB, if things go our way.

Thurman Thomas was far faster than I thought he was...
Nextmanup replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
My lasting memories are of him being caught from behind on long, break away runs that should have gone all the way but for his lack of speed. Kenny Davis had more runs to the house than Thurman had (as I remember it) because he was that much faster. I still say Thurman was as dangerous an overall offensive weapon as this league has ever seen. -
Dan Snyder will not survive the 2022 season
Nextmanup replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
From what I can gather in that article, I want to party with Dan Snyder. LOL "Baker, who spent two years on the team's video production staff, alleged that he and others were "told to edit together lewd footage" from the cheerleaders' "Beauties on the Beach" calendar shoot documentary "at the request of Daniel Snyder" -- footage in which the cheerleaders' "breasts and ***** areas were exposed"." "Coburn corroborated Baker's allegation. She said the video was "secretly made" as "essentially a soft-porn video, soundtracked to Dan Snyder's favorite bands". Coburn also alleged, soon after starting her marketing role, she was invited to sleep at Snyder's home in Aspen, Colorado, after a drunken "awards trip" dinner -- except she was asked to stay in the basement "because the men had invited prostitutes back"." -

No, the other owners will turn on their own in a heartbeat if the person becomes the black sheep of the league and threatens the long term economic viability of the sport. Who do you think forced Donald Sterling out of the NBA? -

I have been saying for this entire season plus a bit before that the time for us to be competitive, FOR REAL, will be the season after next. 2023-2024. Next year should be better, and some of the young talent not here now will be here, but they will need time as well. After THIS much time, it's incredible that we still need yet more just to be competitive, but that's where we stand. And yes, fans will ALWAYS assume the best when it comes to speculation about young up and comers. That's just how it works. I remember hearing for YEARS about how it was going to turn around when JOEL ARMIA finally got to the Sabres, lol. He was in Finland for a while and then finally did get to the team, but didn't last long until he was traded. And we moved onto the next guy.

Titans are not moving on from Tannehil in favor of Mitch f-ing Trubisky. They are not moving on from Tannehill full stop. Will Trubisky leave to go somewhere else? Maybe. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Only way I cans see him on the outside looking in is if we bring in some super stud who is even better and we just don't need or can afford BOTH of them. Barring the super stud, hang in there with Knox and hope he ascends to that next level. You wonder how much different scheming with the new OC could help in this regard alone!

Not only can owners tank, owners are the ones who initiate the tanking, obviously. From them it goes to the GM, and usually STOPS THERE. The GM builds a team and coach that, despite trying its best in competitive games, loses a lot. That's how tanking has always worked, and it's what makes this situation with the Dolphins VERY different... The moment you bring the coach into it, it's different. You now have a team not trying its best to win games. Whether he is offered money or not, to me, is immaterial. As long as the coach is in on the fix or aware of the fix, you have a huge problem. The franchise owners who make up the NFL will do whatever they have to, including selling their first born sons into slavery, to get the "integrity" of the game back again. And yes, I would think that would mean a commissioner change (very possibly) and there is no way any owner involved in this sort of thing (effectively bribing his own coach to lose) is going to still own a franchise when the smoke clears.

This Friggin' Guy, Allen sends Vet(and wife) to Super Bowl
Nextmanup replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like some type of pre-arranged commitment, not something Josh is doing on his own. The military pays these pro sports leagues for all the "honoring" they get before and during games. It's marketing. -
Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.

I would imagine his NFL coaching career is finished, which is a big part of what makes his actions so brave.
