Bills 2021 rookie class ranked 27th in league
Nextmanup replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess you aren't a big Sabres fan. A couple names for you: Jack Eichel; Sam Reinhart. We tanked an entire season for each; after years of losing, both wanted out. Not saying it's exactly the same with the Bills and Allen, but there is precedent for it, at least hypothetically. Look at the recent moving of good QBs around the league and Rodgers' current situation. Never say never! Yeah right! LOL. Provide me with some links to all my "wrong takes". Kool aid boy. -
Bills 2021 rookie class ranked 27th in league

And lots of teams picking at the top, year after year, remain trash heaps. People need to remember that teams do NOT have the draft order correctly analyzed...so there is not necessarily a huge correlation between draft spot and talent of player received, especially the further you get from the very top of the draft. If NFL teams knew how to assess talent properly, Tyreek Hill wouldn't have been taken 165th overall, or have been passed over by every team in the league four--and some teams five--times. For example. -
Michaels To Call 11th Super Bowl Before NBC Contract Ends
Nextmanup replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really dislike Mike Tirico, as I was reminded last night watching him BS his way through his Olympics coverage on NBC. He just comes across totally disinterested and artificial, like he's doing a job. Phony. Al Michaels always came across like a rabid sports fan who happens to be calling the game. Both are very proficient broadcasters, but no one can touch Al. I would LOVE to see Collinsworth gone, with Al coming back for a few more years. He hasn't started to lose it, IMO. He's still sharp. With older announcers, the brain goes first and it shows, but Al hasn't gotten there IMO. I wonder if he's ready to fully retire. Pretty much all broadcasters, forever, hate coming to Buffalo. It's the fans. -
The commercials during the SB used to be a thing, but they have been so utterly uninteresting in recent years I almost forget to pay attention to them. It doesn't help that I'm programmed by nature to totally tune out all advertising! Who the hell pays attention to TV commercials?

In general, you would think the Giants will be doing some substantial team rebuilding. Look at the collection of players McBeane dumped on the market here in the early days. And on top of it, their GM was one of our guys. You would think we would have as solid a shot at wheeling and dealing with them as anyone in the league, assuming both parties have a player of interest. I'd say to keep an eye on the Giants as the off-season unfolds!

Bills’ Stefon Diggs making recruiting pitch at Pro Bowl
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, but what if multiple teams will pay more or less top dollar? Then it's a question of going where you can win, at least for some/most athletes. I do think some really don't care and would chose other factors over ability to win, as long as the pay is top dollar, but that is the minority. Don't forget, most football players in the NFL come from top college programs, and they, almost to a man, love the college-like atmosphere in WNY. Having fun is contagious and they tell this to their playing colleagues. Soon, word travels around the league that WNY is a great place to play with amazing fans. I do think that counts for something with a lot of players, as a lot of players seem to mention this. As long as things keep going the way they are now, we should not have trouble attracting top players. -
Buffalo Bills’ salary cap ramifications of cutting DT Star Lotulelei
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Pegulas have shown for several years nows--with the Sabres--that it is very much about business and saving money comes way ahead of doing the best thing for the performance of the team. They have played it differently with the Bills. The Sabres lose money and the Bills make a lot of it, so there are differences. Will be interesting to see what they do; I think we keep him. -
Just saying... Jim Schwartz is out there looking for DC job

Tell us a few. -
If I wanted to piss away that sort of money on a few hours of entertainment, it sure as hell would have nothing to do with a football game or the Super Bowl in particular. Who the hell pays 10 grand to go to a football game?

Why did Marv not directly replace Ted Marchiabroda?
Nextmanup replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
The real mismatch of all 4 was XXVI, against Washington. They gave us a total butt kicking and we would have lost to them 5 out of 5 times, by a lot. The NFC East was the class of the league back then. -

Throw him out of the league...hope he's invested well. -
Mike McDaniel hired as HC by Miami
Nextmanup replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
That clip is weird...he uses the "F" word 3 or 4 times seemingly out of place kind of for the sake of doing it, not for emphasis. The culture of an NFL coaching room seems really gross to me. Bunch of unlikeable people. -
Duly noted.

Is this where we are supposed to make fun of Gase, the Jets, or the Patriots? Or maybe all three? His wife, Jennifer, kind of looks like the monster from Frankenstein.

Just remember, Gugny, it's not the size of the boat or the motion of the ocean that matters. It's whether or not the captain can keep the boat in port long enough for all the passengers to get off. 🤔

Watching professional golfers play golf on TV is pretty tedious and boring. Watching celebrities and non-professional golfers golf on TV must be like watching trash cans dry. 😬 -
Ohio Turnpike Snow Plow Damages 40+ Vehicles and Injures 12

What is that supposed to mean? It "builds character" to make your 12 year old go shovel heavy slop in the freezing cold and pitch black darkness at 6:00am, totally sleep deprived, before walking to school?! That was the world I grew up in--all that talk about "that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is just nonsense. Now I live in SE FL, and the kids run around and play in the streets 12 months a year wearing skimpy clothing. It's summer time here year round. Their childhood is NOTHING like what mine was---totally devoid of hardships that I can see--and IMO it doesn't impact them one way or the other at all. I sometimes look back at just how difficult/unpleasant/annoying it is to live in a harsh winter climate like WNY, and sort of laugh then cry. I still can't believe people actually choose to make a life in such a place. I was born into it, but got out in my 20s. Others, like my sister and many good friends I've known my whole live (and mom!) don't see it this way AT ALL. So there you go! -
Pizza Hut always was in WNY---they were there in the '70s, '80s, '90s as far as I know. I remember going to birthday parties there as a kid. I always kind of liked the pizza there to be honest! LOL As an adult, I find pizza to be kind of gross and it makes me feel sick after I eat it--which I do it about about once a year now. I haven't had wings in many years--they are that much worse. Kind of gross IMO.

Don't think with your dick.

For "famous" casual Italian, Chef's, downtown. For better casual Italian, Trattoria Aroma on Main St. in Williamsville. For much better Italian still, but no longer casual, San Marco Ristorante, in Snyder. With the caveat that this is Buffalo, NY we are talking about and you don't need to wear a suit at San Marco. It's by far the best restaurant for Italian food in WNY IMO. Latin American? Can't think of any offhand!

Bills and Chiefs tied as favorites to win Superbowl next season
Nextmanup replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Josh can somehow play at a sustained level anywhere close to his playoff games this year, we should be in good shape. He was much more up and down during the season last year. If he stays up at the top of his game all the time, we'll be the #1 seed in the AFC, or at least have a great shot at that, and that could make all the difference in the playoff picture. Let Mahomes come play in OP for a change. Especially if/when they win the SB this year, I see the Rams as going away as a powerhouse in the near future. Look at Philly. They win the SB and then it all goes south, fast. Same for Atlanta a few years ago, Carolina, and others. -
Spotrac has Levi Wallace valued @ $9M/yr. Thoughts?
Nextmanup replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like Levi a LOT, but this is how I see it as well. I think he's gone. -
Why did Marv not directly replace Ted Marchiabroda?
Nextmanup replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
They could have at least tried to replace him...with an actual new body brought in from the outside. As noted above, Ralph was cheap. -
Why hate the Pro Bowl? I've seen more hits at a petting zoo.

Wouldn't a guy like that cost a fortune? It's not the direction I would send a fortune on this roster.
