I think a lot of people would agree with you, but even more would strongly disagree with you, and I'm one of them. Yes, Lamar is easily enough of a talent to win a SB. I don't know how you argue for or against this...it's just a matter of opinion, but you'll know how Baltimore feels about it when they keep him around and pay him forever, which they will.

Gabe is proving to be that kind of player, and he's on the roster right now! I think the missing link we could use would be elite speed, but only if he is a good receiver first, and has elite speed second. And preferably not 5'9" tall.

The SB is always going to be won by the team who can light up the score board. I said this a couple months ago when a lot of fans here were saying "rebuild the roster" and "we need to get tougher" and "we must build a running game." No, we must throw the ball even better than we do now and increase offense! If we don't win the SB in that manner, someone else will. Look who the Final 4 teams were and who's playing in the big show... A lot of folks here were jealous of teams like Indy and Tennessee with their "tough" build and strong running game...and at least 6 weeks ago, I commented that if you think either of those teams are going to win the SB you're insane... I wasn't wrong.

What do the ratings say? In all honesty, I love watching NFL football as much as anyone, and will often find myself watching a dog MNF or TNF game right to the end! But I wouldn't even think of watching the Pro Bowl, nor have I in probably 30 years. I did watch in my younger years when the Bills were going to Super Bowls. I thought it was cool to see all the Bills helmets on the field on offense at the same time.

Mac Jones "lights" up the skills contest
Nextmanup replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall
In all seriousness, who cares? Why the continued obsession with all things New England? Their ownership of us is over now. -
Why do I hate the Pro Bowl? I've seen more competitive intensity at a Girl Scout cookie sale.

I'm not a fan of Troy Aikman, but I did like his line "Your passing game is only as good as your third receiver." Get another stud in here to complement Diggs and Davis. I assume Beasley is gone, despite Beane's comments to the contrary. I'd love Mike Williams.

For those who care: the men's downhill is in a delay situation because of high winds on the course. It was supposed to start 10 minutes ago at 10:00pm eastern, now they are going to meet at 11pm eastern to see if they can go at midnight, eastern. Watching some luge now on USA.

If we take a DT that high in the draft, after what we have spent on the DL lately, I'll vomit. There just ins't a correlation between winning and a DT for it to be important enough. Invest in what makes the team win games--OL which directly makes Josh better, another elite WR which makes Josh better, and a shut down CB that makes Mahomes and other elite QBs in the playoffs WORSE. That's how you win---not with a freaking DT.

He takes some big hits now and again. He often initiates hits too! He will often choose to slam into a defender as opposed to some other option. But it's not about his body breaking down over time from being hit! He will just naturally slow down as all athletes do with aging and his current "full service" game will go away at some point. Or at least will diminish. As I said up thread, I think he has more than 5 years at peak Josh, but less than 10. I can't imagine him playing to this level when he's 35 years old. Not with the running component at least.

Bills 2021 rookie class ranked 27th in league
Nextmanup replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
For some reason, that's how these online sports forums are. They are predominantly made up of kool aid drinkers incapable of critical objective analysis. Here is the irony---those who defend Edmunds now (for example) will make jokes about him the moment we move on from him and he is on some other team. It never fails! 😯- 116 replies

Won't happen. We won't be that lucky.

Ohio Turnpike Snow Plow Damages 40+ Vehicles and Injures 12
Nextmanup replied to Nextmanup's topic in Off the Wall
Yeah well, you were apparently in a position to make the rules! I'm talking about being in like 5th grade through high school! We never even had a snowblower! -
I love the Olympics. Watched the entire opening ceremony last night (the live broadcast tape delayed so I could FF through all commercials) though I found it kind of lackluster. They are wasting no time giving us the men's downhill TONIGHT which I will be watching...probably my favorite single event of the games. It's supposed to be shown for 2 hours between NBC and USA at 10 and 11pm. Right at the top NBC did their best to have "Chinese experts" on and politicize the hell out of the games, mentioning how the USA is "diplomatically boycotting" the games and so on. I hope they avoid that crap going forward--I want to watch the sports, not listen about Hitler and Joe Stalin wannabes like Putin and this big slob currently running China. They kept showing close-ups of Jinping and it looks like he last washed his hair about 2 weeks ago.

Listened to his comments just now. What he does is the same thing John Fina did in his last podcast on the same game--they both criticize effectively the defensive coaching, which had an impact on what happened on the field. The "13 seconds" is all about a huge coaching failure from many perspectives.

I voted 5 b/c that was the choice---and 10 years is too long IMO. He will NOT be performing in this way and at this level for ten more years--his body won't hold up that long IMO. He'll also lose a step at some point. We still have a bunch of time. The reality is probably more than 5, but less than 10 IMO.

In general, eliminating an incentive for teams to intentionally lose is probably a good thing for the sport, so yes, I would support some type of draft lottery. The trick would be engineering the system so that there is really NO incentive to tank. I don't like the NBA system for that reason, b/c there are too many good football prospects in each draft. If you know the worst you can do is draft 5th, you might still tank. In the NHL, that's probably good enough to prevent taking, b/c in some drafts the drop off from 1, 2, or 3, to the rest of the draft is quite large. Not so in the NFL. But overall, yes, the league should go to some type of system and I think they will soon.

Bills 2021 rookie class ranked 27th in league
Nextmanup replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
It doesn't work that way. There isn't necessarily a correlation between draft order and draft quality. The top teams in the draft year after year often remain terrible--look at the Buffalo Sabres. And they are picking at the top. 27th for the Bills is NOT a good score but the drafting has been pretty terrible under this regime.- 116 replies

You might need to fly technicians in from Germany, and I would imagine that could get a bit pricey... But the thing clears 16,000 tons of snow in an hour. 😂 Where was this thing when I was out shoveling the driveway at 6:00am in the cold and dark before going to school on so many winter days as a kid?! The snow plow would come by overnight, and create a slush/ice wall of really HEAVY snow (if conditions were right for it) blocking in the driveway, about 3-4 feet high and 3-4 feet thick...and we had a side-by-side "2 lane" driveway too... It was my job to get rid of the slush wall so we could get the cars out of the driveway. Ah, such happy memories...

Let's utterly FILL NFL football with legal, officially sanctioned gambling, measured (soon) in the billions of dollars a year. What could go wrong? How could it ever negatively impact the game? 🤔

I'd love to trade him, and a lot of posters here mention this, but how much trade value does he actually have? Surely not nearly as much as Bills fans posting here think he has.

Kurt Warner - Josh Allen deserved the W
Nextmanup replied to Long Suffering Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whenever this topic comes up, I think of Terry Bradshaw saying, some time 2 seasons ago, I think, before a Bills game: "For me, either you are accurate or you aren't. And if you aren't, you'll always be inaccurate." That was his sum-up of Allen at the time. It's stuff like that that makes me record almost all games, watch them a bit late on tape delay, and FF through ALL talking head BS. There's no need to listen to any of it, ever.
