The Tre/Gronk thing is something only fans would think is a problem. I'm sure both players have long since forgotten about it. Back in the good old days, tough guys in the NHL would move to a new team and suddenly be in the dressing room with a guy they fought a bunch of times--doesn't matter. Once you're on the team, you're on the team and everyone is part of the same family. That's just a part of the professionalism of sports. Without knowing Gronk or ever having talked to him, I can guarantee the answer is he wouldn't care AT ALL about that sort of stuff. That's just stuff fans talk about, not players.

Offseason Trade Prediction: We acquire Saquan

And to think, the majority (?) of this board defended him vehemently when he was our GM. 🤦♂️ -
I think the answer is "YES" even though everyone around here seems to be treating it as a dead ball foul. It wouldn't have been; it's just that normally taunting is a dead ball foul b/c it occurs after the TD is scored. The TD would have been negated and LOS moved back 15 yards.

I would LOVE THIS but I'm not sure he has any real interest in "returning home" for yet another season of football. With Brady done, he'll be done too, I think. I would absolutely get him in here for 1 year; let him teach everything he knows to Knox. He's the best TE of all time.

Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
Nextmanup replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? Are you a Brian Daboll fan or a fan of the Buffalo Bills? His leaving will be extremely disruptive to the team. -
Exploring gray areas in the rules and exploiting them to your benefit in order to achieve a TINY advantage is not "cheating" it's called "being intelligent."

I remember this well, though I was only 6. My dad was trapped in downtown Buffalo at work, and had to sleep the night sitting at his desk. We have a photo of him asleep at his desk wearing his work clothes and tie, etc.... We had a long hedge running for like 40 feet along the side of our property. It was around 5 to 6 feet tall...it was completely gone! Totally buried under a monster snow drift. This photo gives an idea of what I'm talking about (actually from the blizzard of '77!)

NO thanks, and by the way, what is it with the obsession for a run game by folks here? Did you not see the Bills vs. KC game? Are you not aware of the 2 teams that are going to play in the SB (Rams and KC)??? Think passing, not so much running. And forget about D entirely. -
This is 100% accurate and true. I feel your comments here represent the feelings of MAYBE 10% of this board. It's hilarious but also kind of sad. If teams had a clue how to evaluate talent, it wouldn't take luck. Look at his speed and natural level of athleticism, route running ability, and hands. How exactly was he some sort of hidden, rough cut gem? The guy should have gone top 5 in that draft.

I also hoped we would get some type of revenge game against him. Alas, that will never happen now. He slides into retirement completely owning the Buffalo Bills for all time. UGH!

Brady has second most wins in Orchard Park (LOL) going back to 2000. Josh finally beat him out and took No. 1 on the list.

I'm not convinced he's the best OC option for the Bills. He's never done that before...I'd like more experience for a team that is this established at this point in time. We should be picking from the cream of the league, not promoting a rookie from within. -
Josh Allen running with the football on a designed run is the single most dangerous thing we do on offense. I've been saying that for 4 years now. We can't run him enough! It's his greatest asset. If he gets hurt, so be it. He's a big, tough guy. Can't live in fear and have to do what you do best. When we get down to the 5 yard line and closer, it should be ALL planned Josh runs as they are almost impossible to stop down there.

What would you like to see from next years offense/ new OC?
Nextmanup replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall
Note how many times our receivers are at a dead stop, turned, and facing back to the QB when they catch the ball. It's hard to go anywhere when that's the case. Watch Diggs in particular. The moment he catches the ball at least 75% of the time, he immediately braces for a tackle, defends the ball, and sort of concedes the option of fighting for extra yards. That's not a knock on Diggs--it's just the reality that most of the time, continuing the play beyond the catch is not an option, he realizes that, and so he just protects the ball, protects against injury, and sort of goes into a defensive posture. That can all be greatly improved. -
Do you really want a rookie Offensive Coordinator ?
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you want to go "Safe" and "experienced" I like Doug Pederson--has an enormous amount of experience on varying levels and is an aggressive, forward thinking guy. If you want to go with the "young hot shot promotion" type guy I would take Mike KAFKA from KC. And that's a double dip, too, as it hopefully makes the Bills better, and upsets the Chiefs all at the same time. -
Thats because EVERY thread here is basically the same. A small contingent voices objective criticism of the franchise and frustration; and that is met with an overwhelming majority very vocal response with the kool aid types saying "Don't worry, be happy" or "Go away, troll." That theme remains the same; the actual factual details of the conversation change from thread to thread.

COULDN'T AGREE MORE! I do not trust McDermott to bring in someone great; if he does, I'll be very pleasantly surprised. It's not too late to swap McD for Sean Payton and let him bring in his guy, plus he's an offensive guy anyway! Then get Fangio for D and we are all set with an elite coaching staff. 😬 -
The thing is, this sort of decision needs to be made every single time the kicker kicks off! It happens several times in every game! You would think they would have a bullet proof ironed out method for selecting the type of kick and getting that information to the kicker. Something that cannot fail. The fact that it failed, in the worst possible moment, should be a firing offense for someone. Mickey Mouse Hour!

The folks who are dancing on Daboll's grave will be singing a different tune when McD replaces him with some conservative, old fashioned, retread, or simply promotes some current Bills position coach without enough experience/intelligence to be the new OC. There is a large contingent of Bills fans that seem to think every time an offensive play goes wrong, it is the OC's fault. How much of the Bills the last month was Josh Allen ad libbing and how much was the result of brilliant play scheming?

Super Bowl windows are a lot more complicated than simply having Josh Allen on the team. And the window stays open for a lot shorter time than Josh's playing career. Marino went to the SB in his second season and figured he'd be there frequently! Never got there again in a 16 season career. You just can't piss away solid gold opportunities the way we did in KC! -
How many folks here told us week in and week out that tuh-ROD was the man?! You could play a steaming turd at QB on this team and 3/4 of this fanbase would believe in it, simply b/c it's the QB of the Buffalo Bills. The 10-3 playoff game against Jacksonville was the most poorly QB'ed playoff game I've ever seen, for both teams.
-
I don't think Pederson and McDermott would get along. That would be like matter meeting anti-matter on the conservative scale.
-
Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?

Has the NFL season ended for anyone else?
Nextmanup replied to billsintaiwan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some of us have been watching since the season started, and that young talent needs a few more years. We'll finish bottom 5 this year. Maybe try curling. -

I really think the next game against the Bengals at home would have been a victory. That leaves a single game, winner take all, to be SB champion. That's what our coaching staff pissed away in KC! If they get us a SB in the next few years, it will be forgotten long term. If not...
