Has any information regarding cause of death been reported anywhere? I can't find anything.

IN fairness that's how everyone was reporting it, as it wasn't particularly clear what happened....it happened fast...and then it was over. No video. No instant replay. I'm sure a few people were close enough to really know what happened. Bill Maher mentioned last night on his show that he was being STABBED and that it was going on for something like 20 seconds before "security" jumped in to stop it. If he got stabbed over and over like punches for 20 seconds, he might be in very rough shape. I haven't followed up on the story today.

Sad to hear this, but he had a great ride! The legendary sports broadcasters are mostly gone now, and the sad part is they are not really being replaced by a newer, younger generation of equally great talent. A dying breed.

In fairness, no one ever accused the Fridge of being an excellent football player. He was famous for two reasons: he was a huge fat slob over 300 lbs. in an era when those guys didn't exist, and now and again they handed him ball in goal line situations, despite him being a defensive tackle. No one ever said he was some sort of stand out defensive lineman. I would say he is "famous" for sure..but in a different sense.

YES. The pre-season shouldn't exist; it's a waste of time. News Flash: these coaching staffs don't need a pre-season "game" to figure out who the best players are. I would have Allen sit the entirety of it. Nah, that's just fan speak. Pre-season doesn't need to exist and only does so for money---nothing to do with football development. They are doing all those things for hours and hours all summer long. The players already know how hard Josh throws the ball (and a lot of the time the is no different than what they are used to anyway).

I think Miracle on Ice is tough to beat because it was not just a HUGE sports outcome (which it was) but it exceeded the scope of sport. It was WAY bigger than that, at least at the time.

Thanks for that! When the rider told the horse to "go"....I don't think I've ever seen a gear change like that in a horse race. That is Secretariat type total domination! The winner was way faster than every horse on the track for damned near the entire home stretch. Incredible!

I enjoyed reading the OP's synopsis, because like the other 3 Bills SBs----I have only ever watched this game once, live, and don't really remember a lot of its details. I have never had any desire to watch any of them a second time.
