  1. Should be one heck of a game today. Any thoughts on how it will go down? Check out the Liverpool "Fan Zone" in Paris! You'll never walk alone indeed! Will Carlo Ancelotti be the first manager ever to win the Champions League twice, with two different teams?
  2. Would you please contact them and ask them to teach the Sabres how to do things the right way as well? Thank you.
  3. Yeah, the big "Gettysburg" they did with Martin Sheen is old school TV. I.E., bad. The acting was pretty solid though. I guess they scored points for actually filming in Gettysburg. And it's very true about these re-enactor types being, disproportionately, fat! Nothing is more hilarious or "historically incorrect" than seeing a "German" soldier with all the gear and Stahlhelm but 50 pounds overweight. And clean. And seemingly not exhausted. The Real Deal: The Re-enactor type:
  4. Sun Tzu: "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
  5. You have a creepy fetish with me; please stop stalking me. Also, I'm not a Patriots fan you dumbass.
  6. So....civil actions don't involve "the law" in your opinion? 😭
  7. Yeah, but that's true of any position, any style of player, any play. There is no real evidence to suggest that QB who runs = injury risk. A QB could lose the season standing in the pocket and getting his ankle rolled by his own lineman.
  8. Don't forget, you can get a lot of pressure on the QB from improved DB coverage, too! IMO, that is a more effective way of generating pressure. It all fits together and it's not this vs. that.
  9. Lots of porn, and articles discussing scholastic nude swimming in the '70s and '80s.
  10. You can be sure they are working HARD right now on getting the story correct. When the smoke clears, people are going to be fired, some aren't going to have badges anymore, and some might even be in jail. What a colossal F-up this thing was.
  11. For years when I lived in DC, my hairstylist was a cute Vietnamese woman named Le. She would go home to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City nowadays) about once or sometimes even twice a year. After a lot of trial and error, she concluded the best, most efficient way to get there was Dulles to Seoul, S. Korea, to Saigon. Total in-air time: 24 hours. A full day in the air! I always remember her story, b/c I have not done one of these Far East long haul flights myself---the thought of it scares me to death.
  12. Gregg Williams is quite clearly a nasty, condescending, total douchebag of a person...and it hasn't stopped him from getting tons of coaching jobs in the NFL, including head coach!
  13. By the same token, now that we are in the era of "Super TV" meaning shows that are ongoing, but every bit as well done as feature films, I find your standard feature film to be pathetically too short...depending on what it is. I'm thinking of films that try to tackle a big scope like "Gettysburg". A feature film for that type of subject matter is just wrong. You could it so much better, and give the subject so much more justice, if that is a limited (8 or 10 part?) series, or even a full blown series with a full season or 2. I can't imagine not having to make serious artistic concessions to get any film down to a 90 minute to 120 minute limit. It's funny you say that; the only 2 "regular network" tv shows I have watched in probably 20 years are "Seinfeld" and "LOST"--and I greatly enjoyed both. But as a rule, I'm not even aware of network stuff or what I'm missing. * * * In the middle of the night last (couldn't sleep) I caught "AT CLOSE RANGE" on one of the HBO channels. I had somehow missed this film (made in 1986) and it absolutely fantastic. I assume HBO will be re-playing it for a while. Watch out for it if you haven't seen it. Phenomenal directing and acting from Sean Penn, his little brother, Christopher Walken, and Mary Stuart Masterson.
  14. Sounds like he was in a good place in life. He had a pretty new fiancé, she was traveling with him when he died, and he was working on a current project down in DR. 67 is young, but not that young. Heart failure? Could have been lots of things. No foul play suspected.
  15. NFL "encouraging" teams to give him a try? I guess the league mandated black ball period has officially expired. What a f-ing joke. Have you ever heard of a player named Nathan Peterman? He has never been anything other than "so bad, he can't compete at the NFL level." And yet HE is still kicking around this league! Kaep was totally black balled b/c he made too much fuss for the Man. Period.
  16. Nice house and he didn't go crazy...I was surprised only $4 million. The decor is not totally my thing but appropriate to the house's location.
  17. "Skill competitions" have no place in football IMO. Hell, they have no place in ANY sports, though lots of MLB fans seem to enjoy garbage like home run derbies and what not. The whole idea of these types of all-star games is totally outdated and they should be eliminated from every sport that has one.
  18. Yes, that's exactly what he is. They used to call these guys "game managers" though everyone seems to have different ideas of what that term means. He's not that good and Miami will move on from him as their starting QB soon enough.
  19. Don't be too surprised when NE presents, again, by far, our greatest level of intra-division competition.
  20. BINGO! Like I said up thread, cut the middle man out of it and just contribute some money directly to the charity of your choice.
  21. Nah, disagree with you. Though it would be helpful if you defined, clearly, what YOU think a trap game is. The entire concept of trap games is unsound and has no basis in fact. Like many other widely discussed topics among sports fans.
  22. I am, and have been for a long time, a HUGE supporter of mandatory military service for 12 months. Everyone has to do it when they turn 18...no exceptions. It would be unbelievably productive for almost everyone involved, from a wide variety of angles.
  23. Tampa will make it to the finals, but could lose to ANY of the 4 teams in the west still alive. If I had to guess, I'd say it will be Colorado vs. Tampa in the finals, with Colorado winning the Cup.
  24. I haven't ordered wings in probably 25 years. I wouldn't know what they cost in my area. They don't really appeal to me at age 51; it's kind of crap, greasy, bad food. (I ate hundreds of them, and lots of pizza, when I was a kid growing up in WNY though!).
  25. You're changing the topic; it's not about IQ necessarily, I agree. I'm just correcting the other guy who said he's not low IQ...because he is.
