  1. I don't know, but those matchups would probably be pretty ugly. You have to assume almost all CFL and NFL Europe rosters are composed--exclusively--of players who are below NFL Practice Squad calibre. So the best of the NFL vs. a team of guys who wouldn't make an NFL practice squad? Not sure of point of that.
  2. How about skipping the shirt and the middle man entirely, and donating $25 directly to the charity of your choice related to the incident? Who needs the t-shirt? I am most certainly not religious, but Jesus did have a point when he allegedly said: "Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven." Matthew 6:1
  3. Kid in Texas can't buy a beer until he's 21. But he can buy a military assault rifle and kill his fellow classmates at age 18. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. 'MURICA!
  4. All joking aside, they could improve the NFL's "look" in Pro Bowl weekend by simply eliminating it. They can still name a "Pro Bowl team" as a way of honoring the best players at the various positions, but skip the actual game. Sporting competitions are fueled by competitive spirit to win. As soon as you eliminate that, there is no point *at all* to playing the game.
  5. For me, this falls under the heading "let's see how it plays out."
  6. Nothing will be done after this one either. Many countries have lots of guns. Canada comes to mind. But it's only in the USA that we snap and kill people en masse, about once a week. WHY?
  7. The one rule or aspect of current NFL football that I would change if I could is the situation down at the goal line. An offensive player with the ball can jump up in the air, stick his arm out for 1/4 second, and then be pushed back and end up under a pile of humanity at the 4 yard line and it's considered a TD b/c he broke the plain of the goal. Or a player can run for the front corner of the end zone, dive, stick out the ball, touch that pylon, and then fly out of bounds and it's somehow considered a TD. I HATE that stuff. I would try to change it so that the idea is the player's body must end up in the end zone at the culmination of the play for it to be a TD. Otherwise, it's spotted at the 1 inch line.
  8. He's most definitely low IQ. Is he so low IQ that he qualifies as "learning disabled" or mentally handicapped or mildly ######ed? No. Those are more like "extremely low IQ".
  9. Actually, I have always been amazed over the course of my entire life at how many incidents like this break out (usually in bars) and how the big, strong, NFL player gets beaten up pretty badly. Being big and strong doesn't always equate to knowing how to fight.
  10. The number one thing we can do, and which we have control over (to a degree) is to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Not for the home field "advantage" (which doesn't exist) but for the first playoff weekend bye, which is HUGE. I can't believe the playoffs are structured the way they are; no one team should have to win fewer games to be the champion than others. It's an enormous advantage. Focus on that goal, and then pray we stay healthy. It's all you can do.
  11. If it sounded like I was arguing in support of cheating on your spouse, I wasn't.
  12. I have long thought about this unusual conundrum. When the team is really good, issues/conversations about the team tend to be boring and simple. When the team is bad, things get a LOT more interesting and there is much more to discuss.
  13. Right, trap games don't exist. Neither does the idea of "momentum" in sports. And about 1,000 other things sports fans enjoy discussing, but which don't actually exist. One of my favorites is talking about who should be team captain in any sport. Players don't give a crap about that stuff! Every team has its leaders and the team knows who they are; who is wearing a "C" on his shirt is meaningless crap only worried about by fans.
  14. You hit on an interesting thought. IF we would be assured that the Bills WILL WIN A SB with McDermott as the coach, Beane as the GM, Josh as the QB, and Diggs as a WR (i.e., reasonably soon), I would be happy to have the big win come as late as possible. It will make it sweeter when it gets here, it will fit the narrative tension of the plot better, and I'm telling you guys, once we win it all, you will forever be changed as a fan, including in bad ways. You won't live and die with the team the way you do now. Delay the huge win as long as possible I say, as long as we get it in the end. Kind of a weird thought, but there it is.
  15. I have noticed these Tom Brady car rental commercials more and more and more lately. That company needs to be careful! I think a lot more people hate Tom Brady than respect or admire him, and why would you want to associate your name with someone like that? Every time I see one of those ads, it makes me hate Brady a bit more, and the car rental company as well! Brady is a great QB, but he is such an unlikable person, and it seems to come very naturally to him. Snubbing a guy like Fitz after you lose to him? What an outrageous A-hole!
  16. Fitz was the victim of a post-game Brady handshake snub more than once! https://www.audacy.com/wgr550/sports/bills/ryan-fitzpatrick-details-tom-brady-being-a-sore-loser
  17. I didn't immediately think of that, but now that you mention it, Sellers in DSL could easily be considered a top 5 acting performance of all time. He nailed 3 highly distinctive characters perfectly, and each was totally unlike the others. That dude was an acting genius.
  18. But he didn't have to travel 200 miles to find his targets. When I heard what he was doing and where he came from, that was the first thing I wondered about. Why go all the way over to Buffalo to do this? He's from the Binghamton area as I understand it. Go to Syracuse, to name one of many possible destinations. or Scranton, PA, or....
  19. Aside from what anyone thinks about this particular story, or Jay Cutler, or whether his affair was right, wrong, good, bad....your statement about monogamy is 110% correct. Guys are programmed by nature to want to have sex with as many diversified partners as possible---and for good reason. You can't argue that point.
  20. Before you do, figure out what "proceeds will benefit the 5/14 fund" actually means. Like is 100% of all revenue going to the charity? If not, just directly give the charity money and forget about the t-shirt.
  21. Great post. Says it all. Not much more to say on this topic.
  22. I disagree. The law should be left to the law. The NFL should stay out of it.
  23. This made me laugh out loud. Thanks!
  24. Bylsma, Housely, and Krueger were/are all terrible coaches. Ralph Krueger is quite possibly the most inept HC in Sabres history. Deboer is in a separate league from the Sabres coaches, but the team has been underperforming for a while now after a dream start to their existence so it was probably time to make a switch.
  25. Those are great performances, but you are suffering from a massive case of recency bias.
