  1. So he was loved generally, and you loved him specifically, but he doesn't go on the wall because...he has a wild, long beard? Oh! I wish you had just written that in the first place.
  2. So Fitz doesn't play a significant role in the team's history, at least for you. Correct? Why? Tell us more. You haven't really said anything.
  3. Huh? I've been watching since the '70s. And actually, the selection criteria (according to the Buffalo Bills organization) is: The Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame was created in 1980 to honor former players, administrators and coaches who have played significant roles in the team's history. Rather open ended, isn't it? And I'm sure intentionally so. It does have a 3 year minimum limit on players. Fitz was with the Bills for 4 seasons.
  4. I would suggest Fitz is as popular as any of those names. He gets top score for that; others do too, but no one is "more loved" IMO. What is your standard for appearing on the Wall? You say not even close. Why?
  5. Tragic? That sounds fantastic! Should be worked into a Cohen brothers script at some point. That's hilarious.
  6. Yeah, I would have guessed that Mickey Ratt's closed for good a decade ago! Who knew it was still in operation?
  7. Sure, his career in Buffalo wasn't very long, and he will never be associated with only one team... But can you think of a more popular Buffalo Bill ever?
  8. No way this is official, yet. A lot can happen between now and the start of the season in terms of injuries, unplanned roster changes, and so on. Fitz may well be getting a phone call to extend his career...unless he's straight up decided "I'm done."
  9. I wonder how much general success for linemen (O and D) simply comes down to being super strong relative to most of your competition. These guys all look like monsters, but strength doesn't work like that. I can guarantee some of them are a LOT stronger than others, and that strength (if you have it) has to be an enormous advantage. I always think back to Reggie White. The guy was a bull of a human being, and had to be as strong as anyone on the field in that era...on top of his general talent he already had. Players used to talk about Joe Klecko, too, as being unusually strong relative to those around him. He was said to be just unusually strong, even by giant NFL linemen standards. Incidentally, here's a photo of me doing some weight training back in May...
  10. As counter-intuitive as it may seem, the best way to make the time FLY BY is to focus on other things and kind of forget about football for a while. If you dwell on it every day, those 99 days will seem like 99 years.
  11. Funny you mention the hats. I had a similar thought watching them all standing around with those idiotic things on. I guess they are going for the Village People look. LOL
  12. Apparently she was tossed 10 feet into the air. I've seen stuff from bull fights and Pamplona where that happens. One quick jerk of the neck and a human is tossed like a 5 pound rag doll! Unbelievable power in those animals.
  13. Yep, the writers worked hard to make Howard an interesting, complex character. Sure, he was "that guy" in a lot of annoying ways, but he was pretty much harmless and I think genuinely wanted to treat Jimmy fairly, perhaps out of respect to his brother (and Howard's mentor) as much as anything. But if Howard was just a flat, predictable, jerk, he would not have been nearly as interesting as a character, nor would anyone have cared when he was killed off. I enjoyed him as much as anyone on the show and Patrick Fabian's acting was great! He'll be missed! Maybe we will see new material from him again in the future in flashbacks.
  14. I just finally watched the mid-season finale last night. The moment Lalo entered the scene, I instinctively shouted out "OMG, they are going to kill Howard!" I could just feel it coming! I did not think it would go down when it did or so quickly, however. It still shocked me!
  15. He learned is English in England and studied at Oxford. (Just making that up).
  16. I looked into this and yes, it appears that is the only way to watch. I'm going to watch episode 1 tonight! The trailer and intro at Youtube looked good!
  17. Actually, it's more likely that humans on Earth are the only intelligent creatures in our galaxy, and maybe even our neighborhood of galaxies. If intelligent civilizations were so common that you could get 5 of them in 1 galaxy, we would have been visited by someone by now..
  18. Happened at 2:30am, and a female passenger with him died too.
  19. I have never heard of this, but I'm reading about it now. Did you stream the series on HBO MAX? It looks like it never actually aired on HBO television and it is not available through on demand. I am about to get started with this new season and will probably come back here to comment! I'm glad you gave it a good review. I had to look up "Barry" though the title rang a bell. Oh yes, the series with Henry Winkler! I have caught several episodes of this here and there and agree it's a solid show, despite probably not being super popular.
  20. Caught a snippet of this on a TV commercial and finally figured out what it was.
  21. The stuff going on before the game started was overblown and not a big deal---though I can see why fans in line would have been upset, and why they needed to delay the start as they did. That part was well handled. I thought the game itself was a total disappointment. Liverpool did well to control play and have lots of touches, but they struggled to turn that into true goal scoring opportunities. And when they had a few chances, they blew it. Real Madrid played an almost perfect game in terms of what they were trying to achieve. Overall, very forgettable game. As a Serie A/Italian national team fan, I did enjoy the random shot showing Fabio Cannavaro sitting in the crowd and looking like he could have played in the game yesterday. Love that guy.
  22. It's a miracle, isn't it! "Civil war" LMFAO
  23. Enough with the chicken wing crap. There's more going on in WNY than chicken wings and snow.
