Is Josh a mediocre QB right now? And does it matter?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I highly doubt a QB going into his 6th season all of the sudden forgot how to play. Or the player with the most touchdowns ALL TIME in their first 5 seasons. Allen’s resume destroys anything Wentz has ever done in professional football and to even compare them is ludicrous. I hope Allen puts on a real clinic in 12 hours because this board is starting to get insufferable with all of the doom & gloom. Please make it stop 🙉 -

And some possessions are much longer than others giving the defense adequate time to rest. -

Yes and people also need to realize that the defense was on the field longer than the offense. You can only stop somebody so many times before they score especially if you keep giving them the ball back. The defense played very well. -
Jets OT TD should have been called back...

Garbage non-call. Morris was on a clear path to make the tackle. Not sure why all the negative reactions. -
Good breakdown of the McTua Cheetahcode Offense

The Dolphins have two #1 WRs. That’s why they are open all the time. This gives the OC extreme flexibility in play calling. The one thing Miami did right was giving their QB every resource to succeed. -
Jets LB fined for tripping during the OT punt return

I hate this mentality. It was a defensive game where both offenses struggled heavily. There is a reason that tripping is illegal. -
Jets LB fined for tripping during the OT punt return
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah this was straight BS. Completely changed the outcome of the whole game. Would’ve put them 10 yards back if called and forced them to get in FG range. Either way, there’s no way the refs are going to throw that flag on the Jets on a game winning punt return. Sometimes I hate the NFL bc I know these types of non-calls are emotionally based. Good on the Jets. They won’t go far with Zack Wilson so enjoy the victory. -

The Bills probably had to change their whole defense when Rodgers went out so I give them credit for holding them to 16 points of offense and adapting. Von Miller was healthy during those games last season so I think it’s extremely encouraging that they were getting consistent pressure without him last Sunday. The Bengals were supposed to have a crap O-line during the playoffs and the Bills got man-handled. You are right though. We need to see more games. -

It’s too bad Buffalo lost because if they somehow pulled it off we would be talking about the great performance of the defense. I was on the Leonard Floyd bandwagon as soon as he signed and he proved me right with 1.5 sacks. This is without Von Miller so u can only imagine how nasty this front will be when he returns. Rousseau played great as well and Tre White looks to be back to form. I am honestly very excited. I hope the offense gets it together because this team can really do some damage if they stay healthy and play to their potential. -
Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s basically the chicken and the egg argument. I def can understand where u are coming from. Davis is limited in his route tree, but he does well at the ones he knows. I think his drops last year were a fluke as he’s been very sure-handed in the past. He just really needs to get better at those tough catches in traffic. If he can’t make drastic improvements in a contract year then I think he is gone. Gabe is like the Ryan Fitzpatrick of WRs as he is capable of putting up a monster game, but lacks the overall consistency to be great. -
Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gabe Davis has the most receiving td EVER in a playoff game and has made some huge catches through out his career. He may not meet your expectations, but to say he is not a threat is a bit of an exaggeration. He’s not a top shelf #2, but he’s def in the top half of the NFL. -
Singular point imo when Josh started regressing
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Then the MVP chants will start again when Josh puts on a clinic against the Raiders. I prefer to stay grounded. -
It’s their first game as a unit against the damn Jets. Give them a bit to gel.

That’s not true at all. Some Allen’s best throws have been on broken plays to Davis.

Twitter is the worst, but a part of myself questions if Allen will be one of those QBs who remains productive into their mid-30s and beyond. For this to happen, he really needs to become a student of the game and play more calculated situational football. I think he tries too hard to get by on physical ability alone. Against 90% of teams it may works, but not against the truly elite defenses like the Jets. This is where he should settle more into a point guard role, get the ball out quick and distribute it to his playmakers.

Put all of your feelings aside. Pretend you’re a GM and you have to build a football team from scratch. Who do you choose to become the leader and face of your franchise? Do you go for the unpredictable generational phenom or the pocket passer w/ longevity? Trevor Lawrence is really catching on and by the end of this season I think he will be firmly in the top 5 supplanting the overrated Justin Herbert. He’s not as fast or strong as Josh, but I feel his athleticism is an underrated aspect of his game. He is more than capable of picking up a tough 1st down w/ his legs. Although he threw 4 picks in the Wild Card, he’s usually been great at protecting the ball and letting his playmakers shine. A lot of people compared him to Andrew Luck coming out of the draft and that’s exactly who I think he’ll turn out to be. Andrew Luck w/ a much longer career plus a ring. Allen’s stock took a 2nd hit last Sunday dropping his last 2 games and many in the media and this board are wondering if the league has finally figured him out. There’s a lot of speculation that his style of play is just not sustainable, too reckless, and he will hit a wall like Cam Newton did. He continues to throw costly interceptions and take unnecessary hits. Regardless, he is 52-25 in the regular season and has proven he can win games solely on his own. John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Diggs have all posted career years w/ Allen under center so he does make the players around him better. If I am building a team I still would pick Allen because when he is fully locked in, he is the best QB in the league bar none. Josh plays off emotion and instincts. He needs to a better job of harnessing his strengths and taking chances only when needed. Talent is is no longer an issue. Diggs, Kincaid, Knox, and Davis are all very solid pieces.

I said less of an issue. Losing those openers are always way more dramatic than a mid-season loss. -

I thought they held up pretty good in their first game as a unit against a top 3 front. That Jets D-line is no joke and they are going to wreak havoc on more than just Buffalo. People need to move on and realize there are 16 games to go and that 1 loss does not define a season. If this happened in week 7 it would be much less of an issue on this board. Offenses will continue to catch up to defenses as the season progresses. Burrow threw for 81 yards last week and the Chiefs took an L versus the Lions.
