That is my mindset. If the Bills don't trade up I can only assume it wasn't available. If we can't move up better be taking a look at some of the next tier of rookie QBs.
-
If I was the Browns GM I would wonder what I did wrong in the past to end up being a GM for one of the worst teams in the NFL. Then I would realize that I must not be a good GM to have landed in Cleveland and any picks I make won't make the team better and I won't have any job security. So I would do the next dead man walking GM a favor as I work on my resume and trade away all the picks for the future.

Why the Bills Won't Trade Up to #2 (or 3 or 4)
Lfod replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Giants don't trade back and take a QB at #2, then I have to assume that by pick #4 that 3 QBs have already been selected. If they trade out of #2 I will assume it's to a team picking a QB. So even if the Browns make #4 available I wouldn't be interested. Your paying extra capital to pick the last of the Top 4 behind a division rival. You might as well stay in your spot and let whatever is left fall to you. It's been my view for awhile now. If you can't get to #2 then forget trading up. It was trade for #1,#2 or #3 or it's not really worth it. -
I'm starting to think the QB Class is Overhyped
Lfod replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many of the top 4 selected QBs will go on to have memorable careers and how many end up backups or complete busts. If 3 out of the top 4 turn out to be starters and a QB drafted later turns out to be a starter then I guess it wasn't hyped enough. If only 1 out of the top 4 actually turns out to be a starter people will look back at this draft as massively over hyped. Especially if all if the QBs drafted later don't end up starting. -

I think we need a thumbs down that take away a rep point.

I will have to see it to believe it. I'm skeptical. I didn't see him elevate the Bills enough to think he can elevate the Browns. He had some good games and games like the Panthers and Jaguars games when the offense was shut down completely. I can agree it's a safe move for the Browns because he's a safe bet and brings stability. I just can't see him actually ever leading an offence to 21+ points more often then not. My point being when a team shuts Tyrod down you can pretty much bet on it being for the rest of the game. He doesn't have the ability to throw in a curve ball and have defense guessing. He's not going to make enough plays to turn things around and back a defense up. It might be interesting for the Browns if they can jump out to a lead early in a game and hope your defense can keep a game locked down. It won't be interesting if the offense is shut down and you know it's for the rest of the game and it doesn't matter if the Defense hold the other team to 9 or 10 point. If the defense played bad and your down 21+ points you already know the games over by then. Tyrod isn't leading the Browns to many come backs. Now factor in that Tyrod will be the QB of a team that didn't win a single game last season and I would not put the odds in his favor.

4-20: NFL MJ Testing Starts Today ?

No never that. The synthetic stuff is horrible. I don't trust it. I'd rather go sober. -
Peterman Works w/ Tom House, Adds Velocity
Lfod replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The debate rages on I see. I still have the same opinion I've had since the start. When the team benched Tyrod it was because something Tyrod was or was not doing. Judging by how much Peterman wasn't ready is a strong indicator of just how strongly they felt about moving on from Tyrod. In the end the benching didn't matter as much as people think it did. We still got to see what Tyrod looked like in a playoff game. Tyrod got shut down and knocked out. So a rookie couldn't cut it but neither could Tyrod. As for Peterman it is what it is. If he wants to take the situation serious and work on his craft good for him. I'm sure he knows how bad he made himself look. I wouldn't blame him for putting the 5 interceptions behind him and trying to improve. I wouldn't put the odds in his favor but I have not counted him completely out. At least I know my team won't settle and try new things to be better. It didn't work with benching Tyrod but it didn't make a difference. -
I'll throw another vote for Shady and Tre. Oh and Nate Peterman.

Richie Incognito Un-retires via Twitter?
Lfod replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand that Richie has to look out for himself to. Just do it the right way so you don't smash the reputation you build when you do go by being sloppy about it. -
Have You Ever Gotten Into A Fight Defending The Bills?
Lfod replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well today I was given a strong hint that I am about to be fired from my job for making an offer to settle up with this annoying guy at work, outside of work. My fault for being loud about my offer. I think people that bottle up pop the hardest. Well at least I am only on the way to looking for another job and not earning an assault charge. The bright side is that I'll get a vacation and finally not have this dude pretending to be my shadow. Plus he got loud too so my consolation prize is that we both getting fired. How many people ever stop to think about how they act causes people to dislike them that much? If they did they might decide maybe to not be annoying. -
Nice. Well if it works out for KC it would be hard to argue that they didn't get the better end of that deal. In a perfect world KC and the Bills both win. My team has to hold up it's end of the deal in this draft.

I look at it like this, back up what you say you will do and I will respect it 100%. You wanna be Babe Ruthe and point out the home run, then knock that thing out of the park. If he pointed and didn't hit the home run he wouldn't be a legend. You dig? You talk the talk and don't walk it out, then it's just a joke and I will have a good laugh about it. Now that Rosen is spoken he will have to back it up.

I didn't mind Whaley. He had a borderline Playoff team. I can respect that. I always 100% thought Rex Ryan was a bad move and helped finish off Whaleys career. Twords the end though Whaley didn't help himself with a few of the things he said and that bad press conference. That being said I wasn't in the fire him pitchforks crowd. I thought he was decent. I would say that him not being a GM right now is telling.

I never seen Mahomes in games. I heard he played a few games at the end of the season. Kinda interested in knowing what you saw as a KC fan. Not trolling I am interested in your thoughts as a fan. What did you see on the field that impressed/concerned you? The Bills passed on both Watson and Mahomes I presume. I would hate to think my team passed on legit QBs.

What If A QB Says No? Can They Say No Any More?
Lfod replied to BadLandsMeanie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand your thinking. I don't think Buffalo is the worst place you could end up as a Rookie. Not the greatest landing spot. Not the worst. We are the prime destination for back up QBs to trying to be starters. -
Richie Incognito Retires Via Twitter - Now Confirmed
Lfod replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Am I wrong that he could of handled retirement better? I understand health problems. I understand wanting to retire. The tweets about maybe I will play for more money and the I'm done just sent the wrong message to me. The Bills took a chance on him when he had a bad reputation. He did give us some good years. I hope at least he at least was open with the team about needing to retire before he took it to Twitter. I want to be thankful for his service. I just don't feel it. Probably looking to deep into it and just accept that was the best way for him to leave the Bills. With a tweet. -
I don't talk about it because it's all still kind of unknown.

***Speculation from Brownsboard.com***
Lfod replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely more believable then the last guy around here with a "source". Just saying. Past hits give credibility. -
I used to work at 3 a.m. and did that for years. I just recently few months ago switched hours. I'll never miss waking up at that time. I found it hard to stay on rythm and no amount of sleep ever made that 3 a.m. buzzer any easier to deal with.

Two Weeks Out, What do you Currently want to happen?
Lfod replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think moving up in the draft is only a mistake in certain situations. If we draft a bust obviously a mistake. If we jump up high when equal talent would fall into a much better range or to #12. If the lower rated prospects could have great careers. Unfortunately we don't have hindsight and teams are going to jump to get QBs. The Jets jumped to #3 already if you need any proof. I'm not in total disagreement but you phrase it so automatic. It wouldn't be a mistake if he scratches that ticket and he is a winner. Also I've seen teams start rookie QBs so you can't say it's automatic that a rookie is sitting. Second I think you put to much faith in AJMcCarron. Your automatic again. New OC and a new team. No big names on offense besides shady. Your expecting him to weave straw into gold, I see it as another Tyrod experiment. We didn't get lucky he was very available. I just hope AJ isn't so terrible it starts to make me wonder how Peterman has been lately. I think trading down is an option if the Draft goes completely against the plan. I would rather the guy plan for the future then force things out of desperation. I don't see the point of getting to #12 to trade back... Now I have a question. Do you think the GM can't identity QBs or do you not like the QBs in the draft? -
USC EDGE Uchenna Nwosu visiting Bills
Lfod replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather the team focus on the offense because that is the teams huge weakness. Unless we can teach the defense to score 21 points a game. -
I like Rodgers. He has great charisma. Love the commercials he is in, they make me laugh every time. That being said I don't want some other teams QB. I want home brew in Buffalo. I want my team to select and mold it's own QB. If we are always looking outside ourselves for the answers we will never find one. I want a QB to play his career from start to finish in Buffalo. I want other teams fans to covet what we have and not the opposite. Beane painted himself in a corner. It's almost assured we doing everything imaginable to be in position to draft a guy that will be the face.
