Two Weeks Out, What do you Currently want to happen?
Lfod replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want more awareness. Actually have a guy checked out medically before you extend him so that it's not an embarrassment. Know if a guy is seriously contemplating retirement before you give him a contract and trade another offensive lineman. Draft a QB in this next draft especially since you know all your eggs are in the AJMCbackup basket. Don't risk having to make me hope Peterman got better because AJ is just a backup QB and is crapping the bed. If Tyrod does better in Cleveland it will be an embarrassment. I'll admit the odds of Tyrod making the Browns look good is slim but the possibility for embarrassment exist. Know the kind of guy you draft at WR is going to try to jump out a window. It's all an embarrassment. I'm assuming next year has a high probability of going in the tank. I have faith the HC can do a lot with a little. I understand the moves the Bills made but it's going to haunt them. I just want awareness. We as fans got hit with bad news a few times. We need something to hope for. I need something to hope for, especially if I have to sit through a terrible season of losing. I want some good news. Bring me some good news in this draft. If you trade up big for a QB I'll forgive a bad season. If you don't get me a QB then I'll be critical if we fall below the average seasons we have had. -
I don't want to be critical but it's not looking good right now. The show must go on. On with the show. *Grabs paper bag and cuts out eye holes*

The bar was set in college. The bar is set a lot higher in the NFL. Then after you consider all the contributing factors you still won't know if a guy can cut it until he actually plays in NFL games. So they couldn't make it an exact science. It probably would change up how drafts are done if it was an exact science. You gather all the information possible and you formulate the best guess you can with all the information available. You have to understand who your drafting is a human being and not a robot. Dynamics are involved in the chances for success. Think I would have a better shot to be a successful rookie QB for the Patriots or the Browns? The difference between the pressure for that rookie to start ASAP or have them learn behind some one established. So the NFL is hard and you have more bust then guys that end up elite. That's the nature of the beast and you can't tame a beast without understanding it's nature and risk of getting your face bitten off. Bring on the Draft. I'm ready to see the Wizard Beane in action.

The dude probably doesn't understand being poetic. He can only interpret things in a literal way. It's a limited way of preception of others.

Well hopefully venting that hurt clears the air some. You name your price. If it cost to much walk away. I would never think somebody writes something so personal if it's fictional. Those are real feelings.

Hey buddy, come down off that ledge. Even if your wife left you and your son hates you. **Sings Loudly** I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend, You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in, And if you do not want to see me again, I would understand.

Don’t bet the farm on at the QB roulette table
Lfod replied to VTBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we reached a point that no thought can be original. What you want has most likely been posted and debated on. This is the time to put more effort in posting. Honestly I don't really care what the GM does as long as it benefits the team. Obviously there is probably going to be "right moves" and "wrong moves". If he makes the right moves great, the Bills will have a respectable GM and HC. If he doesn't make the right moves then it's only a matter of time before we reset. I would have to imagine our GM knows the moves he makes effects his job and potentially the job of our head coach. -
You can't start a thread under the guise of you knowing something then end your post in a question. Your the guy that knows stuff you tell me who the Bills pick.

Well my opinion wouldn't be a very educated one. I would just be repeating what I read and having feelings about it. I really should just go watch the games they played. That is kinda why I want to keep track of these guys after all the speculation. The before/after picture is what I'm interested in now because I think I burned myself out on reading about the prospects. I want to know how much the picture changes after these guys play games. Just because you asked I'll say. Darnold then Rosen or Mayfield. I'm equal about those two. I hear good and bad about both. Rosen (injury) and Mayfield (character). The same for Rudolph and Jackson. They equal to to me in the sense I see good in both of them but the overall consensus is you wait till they fall. I think Jackson being very athletic will be his benefit over Rudolph some. I think Rudolph ends up on a better team then Jackson. Allen with the amount of concern about his stats. I'd have to agree with other people. I'd rather Buffalo not be the ones to test those waters. I wish more was being said about the guys after that but it's kind of quiet. The QB the Browns pick I won't call a bust unless like Johnny Manziel they never play for another team. If I'm the Giants I want Rosen because he just looks and talks like Eli. I don't know if that is just me.

Just because of all the wild speculation I plan to keep tabs on all these QBs careers. I myself don't follow college ball and I usually don't read into the draft, but since we have ammo, I kept reading the speculation. Darnold and Rosen seem to be favorites of this draft. I'm curious to see if they live up to the hype given to them. If not then mostly everybody was wrong on them. Except a few on here with injury concern on Rosen. Although Darnold to the Browns might not be his fault. So if he goes to Cleveland I might have to wait until no other team picks him up before I consider him busted out. Baker Mayfield is next up. I can see a split of opinion. I think more people like him then not so if he is not good then still a decent amount of people had it wrong and a decent amount had it right. Allen just isn't getting any hype or love around these parts. I can't consider him a top safe pick with the amount of negative people feel about him. I would say the Majority don't like him and actually use stats to back it up. So if he turns out amazing almost nobody gets to credit themselves for being right. Then you get guys like Rudolph and Jackson. These guys careers interest me the most because they are both underdogs in this draft. I've seen a few very strong supporters of both and if you few are correct feel free to remind everyone because the underdog is harder to get correct if you ask me. Nobody is expecting elite careers for these guys. Those are the QBs I will keep track of because they are the names I hear the most. Nobody is really talking about any QBs much beyond the 6. What I am saying is that it will be interesting who got the easy picks wrong and the harder picks right. It was hard sometimes to read through all the speculation but I think I got an idea of how these QBs are viewed by fans.

[Misleading Title]BILLS WILL TRADE BOTH #1 PICKS - -
Lfod replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree it was an accident the Bills made the playoffs. They have hovered around the same record past few years. HC just gave them the extra push they needed. Remember all the reports out of training camp of guys fighting and complaining because they were sick of hitting each other. That stuff was no accident man. As for them needing all these things that's in your head. The HC stripped the team down and still made it farther with less. I'm sorry but your description of my HC makes him sound weak. As for the draft, people's predictions sound more like personal wants based on thier own view of the team. Yea we have a lot of needs. Let's see what this GM views as priority. Nobody has seen this guy run a draft. I'd have more respect for the Lamp post if people presented it as how they would like to see the GM run the draft instead of acting like its a prediction. We will find out what this GM covets in drafting soon enough. I wrote down your prediction Nostradamus. -
What are your bold predictions for the NFL draft?
Lfod replied to billspro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Browns trade out of the #1 spot. -
How you get the colors in text?
-
I'm just checking in frequently for the big news. Bills move to #12 is big news. The Jets move to #3 that's big news. Thats the news I'm interested in. The rest is speculating and hypothetical guessing. Fun to read but not something I put a lot of value on. Bring on the draft, let's just see what happens and write about it after.

In Retrospect: How Did We Make Playoffs Last Year?
Lfod replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We made the playoffs. It was either good enough for you or not. I think it meant a lot to a lot of different people. Let's enjoy it for what it's worth. -
#1 and #2 spots you pick a QB or you trade down. You don't sit on that sweet QB spot to not go QB. Those are the money picks and if you can't get one of them you already lost a lot of ground. Jets going QB at #3. So that leaves you with a possible #4 trade with the Browns with 3 QBs off the board. I wouldn't be very excited about taking the fourth QB off the board. Unless that QB that was left was one you had a target on. People say it's a QB heavy draft. If he can't get to #1 or #2 then I'd rather him let the draft fall. A QB might drop in to a range it makes sense to move up a few spots. People say it's a QB heavy draft. The mention of trading for pick #4 just smells of desperation if 3 QBs have already been stolen. The last choice on the top 4 QBs. Yuck. Imagine the Jets lighting us up with the guy they picked at #3 and we traded to #4 and busted. If the Bills trade up in a place behind the Jets for QB you might find me being critical until it pays off. Yuck. I like the #1 pick or #2 pick or just pick at #12.

Yea it seems this GM and HC don't hold onto broken players. I respect it.
-
Dear Johnny, Remember that time you got drafted by the Browns and couldn't cut it. Remember that time you skipped the CFL contract and went to a few pro days. Remember that time you vented to the media and your still not in the NFL. It's not just the Browns. No team picked you up. Not then and apparently not right now and most likely never. Sincerely, Reality

Op you make some good points. I disagree and still think Beane moves up in the draft again. Unless it's really not available or cost to much I feel like this new GM is going to move up. You kinda have to assume top 3 are QBs. The #3 is already sold. If you want a QB you need to talk to the Browns or Giants. I'm assuming he is exploring every avenue. I know this draft isn't falling. I do agree that we might overall might not be a good team next season and and a rookie QB isn't going to change that. We all knew the team was going to have growing pains. A few mismanaged things for the new GM and HC to clean up. They might get the average to over achieve again. I'm not really advocating. Just how I read it in the tea leaves. I just really am rooting for the new regime. I'm also just an average fan. I don't know if any of these QBs will be elite. I hope the new GM has a good idea and does what's best for the team.

Moving up to #2 = No Playoffs for the next three years
Lfod replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you. I want them to build the trenches. I want a good QB as well. I think having an o-line is important if you want to keep plugging QBs in until you find the right one. I do think QBs can elevate a team and are important. I just can't argue that having a good o-line could help protect a system in development still. Have to get it running with AJ or Peterman lol. Set the team up. We are in the age of QB desperation. Build up the surrounding team and keep plugging in nobody's until somebody clicks. Only don't wait 3 years. Do a few benchings a year. Have like 3 or 4 qbs I think Beane might have backed himself into a corner when trading up. In to much of a position to be able to jump to not walk away with something. Although I won't be bothered if he lets the draft fall to him. I am just under a strong position if the option is available at the right price Beane will bite. -
Who's the one player you want in the draft that's not a QB?
Lfod replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I would have to go with your idea. I was going to just say I want a strong O-line. The offense got scary bad sometimes. I think O-line should be a priority. Build the team to win in the trenches. I would respect it. -
Moving up to #2 = No Playoffs for the next three years
Lfod replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one can be certain what will happen until the draft unfolds. I'm excited and feeling the hype. Kudos to Beane for getting to #12. It adds to the hype. I'm actually in favor of multiple moves if it makes sense. The more you jump and pay for a QB, the more weight on his success. The more you play it safe, the more that haunts you if the team struggles with subpar QB. If I felt I could work with a lot of these QBs I might wait and see if one falls in rage. If I really only had my sights set on one or two I thought could really be elite, I might pay the price to get it done. So I think in the end we move up again before it's said and done. I just don't know if it will be to #2. -
I had that thought once, it would be funny in a way.
