Yeah Jefferson had a slow start to the year but great game Sunday. I've been hoping he would come through for the Vikes, the more we get to know Diggs, the more I see how much of a hole he left in that organization. Cousins was putrid two weeks ago. 113 yards, 3 INT's vs Colts. Yikes.

Elusiveness and pocket presence is really tough to assess in the transition from college to pros. Josh was already a good QB before this season because of that. If you can buy an extra 2 seconds you're almost always throwing to guys with good separation, if you can't then you have to be pinpoint which he never was until this year. I swear Daboll WANTS the defense to send a free blitzer because the first guy there always seems to whiff embarrassingly and now somebody is open.

Josh Norman STATUS??????
Da webster guy replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last week our Dbacks are led the team in tackles, i think Poy and Taron were 1, 2 vs Rams. Tre isn't 100%, Hyde went down, Norman is old, Levi is streaky.... Our front 7 needs to have better gap control and tackling or our Dback situation will get worse with these guys playing run support vs rb's with a full head of steam. -

Here's a simple fix, Dont click on a thread you dont want to see. Duplicate threads for you might not have been seen by less frequent visitors. Thats the beauty of message boards, you're free to skip anything you want. -
gee never thought of that. they really are all slot guys. Biggest concern is Waller and Jacobs may be the best in the league at their position. It's a tall order for Milano and Edmunds. Its kinda sad I remember when the schedule came out, we were all saying how the Bills playing in Las Vegas is gonna be half Bills fans and we were so looking forward to the trip. Now at least we're playing as a favorite looking to go 4-0, that will help ease the pain.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Da webster guy replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
35 yards passing at the end of the 1st half. Yikes. In fairness to Lamar, he doesn't have the kind of weapons we have or KC has. Josh TD to Diggs Sunday was a Lamar type throw with that wrist flick. He didnt have time or the space to wind up so he just whipped that forearm. Awesome. . -
Gabe Davis - 4th round steal?
Da webster guy replied to FlaFitz1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great pick so far. We missed John Brown badly yesterday, he and Josh are elite when it comes to buying time and getting open. Davis is in the perfect spot to learn and grow -
Game Winning Drive Defensive PI

Not only that, but the retired ref (Periera?) who the announcers consulted with also said it was a penalty all the way. I trust his impartial take on the play more than Woods. Sorry Robert, maybe he's still pissed because Whaley didn't think he was worth $8M per year. And the ref consultant also disagreed with the Kroft INT call but so would anyone with two eyes and a basic understanding of the rules. -
Its all about Milano and Tremaine. The middle of the field has been open for passing and running the past few games, both of those guys were either out or not 100%. Tremaine and Tre D both amazing players but did not have their best games yesterday. We looked slow and reactive on defense for a lot of that game. I agree if you can't stop the run (this week) or the pass (past two weeks) you had better be scoring a lot of points. Luckily we seem to be able to do that.

This always frustrates me, pro receivers not checking in with whats happening after the snap with qb protection. Nothing worse than half your wr's running deep routes when a blitzer is coming free to your qb. John Brown is the best at this. Always cuts his route short and gets available if he feels like the heat is on Josh prematurely. We missed that guy yesterday, he would have moved the chains for us and slowed the game down in the 2nd half.

ESPN's Dan Orlovsky Making Case for Allen MVP
Da webster guy replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
'Valuable' player has always been a little loosely defined. Some people look at it as it simply meaning the best player but others look at it like "well without this guy their team is screwed, he's the most valuable" What if there's a great backup behind him, does that make him less valuable? Either way, #17 is good enough to win a championship with, and thats all I care about. -
Postgame Thread Bills vs Rams
Da webster guy replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And he had the Bengals fever-- makes a man try to lose at all costs-- but he shook it.... Biggest concern right now is John Brown He's the master of the 3rd down and a huge piece of this offense. Noticeable drop without him there, we have to get him back. He has a knack for knowing when to blow off his route, come back to help Josh when he's scrambling his ass off. He's better at it than anyone I've ever seen. Last year even though every defense knew he was our primary target JB would be open by a mile on 3rd and long. -
Black Monday for NFL injuries
Da webster guy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wha? Wait more money at the cost of players health? No preseason and no fans, owners are not to blame. Players union has been trying for years to shorten or eliminate preseason. Like Tasker said this morning (when Chris Brown wasn't cutting him off every 20 seconds) there were an inordinate amount of non-contact injuries and he attributed it to not easing players into regular action. -
Lawson - buyer or seller after today

Shaq reminds me of lil' Donte Whitner. Got drafted too high, flashed in some games, disappeared in a bunch. A decent pro, will be in it for a 10-ish year career. He probably owes Rex a little money for the over-inflated Clemson factor. -

Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video

No it wasnt clearly over the uprights. It would have hit the net much higher. Or just go for 2 every time. -
Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video

Missin my point. He CANT know, he has no angle. To ask a ref to judge depth looking straight up? We tried it at Victor H.S. football field, you can tell on some easy, (we used tennis balls) but some you cant at all. If the dogs didnt keep stealing the balls it wldve gone smoother, so dont bring your mutt. Im happy we won too, just pointing out something fixable that could be another egg on the face of the league down the road. -
I've watched this kick in slow motion and regular speed a dozen times. Two things are clear, the first is that the ball was not above the uprights at all. It was close, but certainly the ref standing UNDER the upright has no clue. Second, this kick was good by several feet, not just a few inches. The NFL using the excuse that balls kicked above the upright are not reviewable is ridiculous, how do you know it was above the upright? There is only one way, from a side view camera even with the top of the goal posts which means either attached to the posts themselves or 40 rows up on the sidelines. The ones in the upper end zones have no angle on this critical piece of information. So many games come down to kicks, I'm shocked that this is just getting brushed under the table. NFL needs to wise up and use the simple technology available to be able to get these calls right. They finally added pylon cams, and even this year they are actually placing cameras on the first down markers (duh). Imagine a superbowl decided by a kick and we aren't even sure if you can challenge it or not? McD should have thrown the challenge flag "coach you can't challenge a ball above the uprights" McD "i'm challenging that it wasn't above the uprights, lets see your replay" uh....um....we just have a camera on the ends of the field and one under the goals posts in the middle so.....you know these cameras are expensive coach.

Like Yolo said, this was a case of us gameplanning against their weaknesses, which was why we kept coming at them with 4 and even 5 WR's at once. We don't know what we have in Moss yet, but if you want to see more running you might get your wish vs Miami, they struggled against the run last year and vs Cam last week they looked slow. They have two solid cb's in Xav Howard and Byron Jones, I would expect a stronger mix of runs. Shaq is a good add for the Fins run defense, will be interesting to see how he does out there.

I think he was 20 for 28 last season in college. Beane liked his power and he matched Haus in camp for kicks made vs missed.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
Da webster guy replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he was rattled, fidgety. Seemed like a preseason game for the Jets and a regular season game for us. Plus nobody noticed Kyle Williams in his Zimmer jersey out there making plays, which was cool because he's supposed to be retired. After rewatching, in Sam's defense, his WR's had a TON of drops, especially in the 1st half. I would say the biggest impact of no preseason or scrimmages on week 1 was the receivers. They struggled in every game from the Chiefs on Thursday all the way through to last nights games. Not just miscoms between them and the QB's but flat out drops. My conclusion is game catches and practice catches are a whole different animal, way more than I would have expected. In a lot of the cases it's the head turn BEFORE the ball gets there because for the first time since last year they're actually going to get popped by a guy that isn't on their team.
