  1. Agree but Murphy sure saved his best performance for the playoffs. Dude was a beast, couple sacks, hurries, tackles for loss, blowin up plays. If he keeps that form next year he and Addison will be nasty on that left side
  2. Everyone pays a lot to get established top receivers in their prime on relatively friendly contracts. And in order to overpay you have to know what we gave up, which was college draft picks not established players. In order to do that you'd have to see our board and who we would have taken, then wait a few years and see how they panned out. There are a lot of 1st round WR busts in this league, we got a proven, game-changing guy who is guaranteed not to bust. Here's a wild stat that might make you feel better about Diggsy: more than HALF of the WR's taken in the first round are out of the league in 5 years. One breakdown looked at four years of consecutive drafts and an amazing 9 out of 15 First Round WR's were out of football going into what would be their 6th training camp. (also 10 out of 20 DE's which is crazy too) As for giving up 5th and 6th picks in that deal, you know the chances of them being game changers is slim. Beaner sees the window before Josh needs to get a new contract and he's sticking to the plan of adding proven players for a run this year.
  3. Thats an incredible run, considering it can be skewed by injuries, slumps, even week 17 meaningless games (who woulda thought Buffalo and Tenn would be sitting everyone in their final week?) Big Ben, Andrew Luck, Tannehill all did things impossible to predict. Lamar Jackson becomes a better passer than Brady. The list goes on. I saw a cool article on the 2019 NFL season that ESPN’s win-probability model gave a 60-40 (or narrower) split at any point with five or fewer minutes left in regulation. 63 of the NFL's 256 games fell within this threshold. In these games, missed kicks, a single penalty or bounce of the ball can determine a W or L. If you're 7 for 8 seasons within a 1 game margin on the Bills, first I'd say congrats, then I'd say there's a significant element of luck in there. Funny the only NFL prop bet I took last year was the Niners under 8.5 wins, that was over by like week 10.
  4. And Roberts has been a victim of some pretty awful special teams blocking. We can't seem to cover any gunners, the only way he ever gets any chance on a good punt return is if they out-kick the coverage. I agree with Astro we will be looking for another returner in this draft, but I don't see Roberts losing the job to anyone. And he's a great dude, McD loves the guy.
  5. I remember Berman replaying that last punt return on ESPN and doin his "whuuup!" "Whuup!" everytime he made someone miss. To this day I still say that inside cut he makes AFTER the spin move on that return is the best football move I've ever seen. Lee Evans, josh reed and roscoe trio there was an excellent group. .
  6. From my perspecitve, Josh gets tons of support and love from media and vast majority of fans. The negative fans will always be heard more but they're far outnumbered. Josh cleaned up his INT issues, and we had a playoff season last year. Great guy, leader, fun to watch, humble, competitor etc. There will always be the Sal Maiorana, Jerry Sullivan writers that B word all day long about everything but just ignore them and focus on all the upside of our situation in Buff right now. Lot to be excited about. For those that say our schedule is a lot tougher next year, I say every year there is massive change in how teams play, some surprise by playing better and some just have off years. Rams and Patriots seemed dominant 2 years ago, Pats fizzled in playoffs and Rams barely beat .500 and missed the playoffs. Steelers, Browns, Falcs, lot of ups and downs from one year to the next. Bills 11 wins next year, undefeated at home.
  7. The international games are another ridiculous Roger Goodell b.s. thing anyway. Teams other than Jacksonville hate them and for good reason. Dont steal one of my teams 8 precious home games for some stupid marketing guy's idea that globalizing the NFL will in some way make things better. It makes it worse. Its an American sport we're doing just fine I hope they cancel them indefinitely, and so does just about every other NFL fan except players wives and a few owners.
  8. This is year 3, the Go For It year for Beaner, our QB doesn't take up $30M off our cap yet and we have seen what that does to teams like Seattle, GB, Detroit etc. It can impair your ability to get free agents and keep your studs. With that in mind, I think we may see a little more tendency to draft for need than pure BPA simply because there are only a few spots a rookie can help us win games this season. Our entire offense is returning plus a great new receiver who is worth 100 targets. Last year our offense looked (roughly) like this: 500 throws by josh, who also ran 100 times, and we handed off about 350 times, Motor getting 150 of those carries. He didn't play the full season, so likely Daboll is looking at getting the kid 200 handoffs this year. He has to. No RB in the world with over 150 carries last year had a better yard per carry than Singletary. Not Derrick Henry, Saquon, McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook--nobody. That leaves room for a 100-125 carry RB2, which will be a big piece of our puzzle this year. The guy will be roughly 10% of our offense, a perfect rookie role and the only way I see a new kid helping us win on offense. There are longshots at RT, maybe TE2, but I think Beaner will be going RB for the 1st offensive draft pick for this reason. We need a sharp kid who can protect and run hard, be ready to go on opening day. Aaaaaand thats where you look to Astro for answers.
  9. I used to agree with you but look at what Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook and Jacobs for the Raiders did for their teams this year, they got them wins, helped them more than the average RB's did around the league. If we are making a run now we need to look to guys that can play as rookies. Not many spots available but RB2 and edge from what I see. Who knows maybe Wade is the answer, he's a freak athlete.
  10. It WAS Dante Fowler for me until yesterday. If we offered Shaq 9M we could have cut Trent and met Dante's 16m that Atlanta just paid him. Elite DE last year, would have made this pass rush so freakin nasty. The guy is 270lbs but speed like a linebacker. Won them 2 games last year.
  11. I'm at the point where if McD wants someone, then I do too, but I'm a believer in drafting RB's not paying a lot for them. Singletary was under used last year, and now we have Diggs as well to demand another 70-100 targets. Gordon is a bell cow back, wherever he goes he's going to be the RB1. Dont see the fit for us, hope we draft a rookie and run with him for RB2. Also i like Senorise Perry he might surprise everyone in camp and win the 2 spot.
  12. It wasnt me, I agree with you. Love the flexibility now, although since then Tremaine seems to have gained some skill in shedding blocks on inside runs. If McD wants him, I want him.
  13. Diggs is such a baller. Game changing difference maker for sure. My favorite non Bill to watch. Similar numbers to Smoke last year but did a ton to carry that offense with Theilen hurt basically all year. Beane is doing what he says, fill your roster with good starters and draft bpa baby. The guy has balls. 5th and 6th rd picks are just Wyatt teller freebies. Wonder if they talked to Houston about the Nuk too?
  14. Yes I see. We had 22nd pick 2 years ago, moved up to 16 for Tremaine and only had to give up 65th overall. I was thinking a few of these WR's might go higher. I remember being shocked at the Mike Williams, Corey Davis, John Ross picks all ahead of us a few years back. WR's are strange cats. They're high risk prospects that can look so dominant in college and so average in the pros.
  15. We certainly seem to be a trade up team lately. Josh, Tremaine, Cody and Knox all cost us multiple picks. In order to move up far enough to get any receiver we wanted it would cost us a 1st next year. Such a move would be considered madness with the WR depth, although it looks like there's only going to be room to add one starter on offense with everyone returning (including coaches) so maybe Beaner has a specific guy in mind for that and he's willing to bet the farm on it.
  16. Yup, you know they planned this signing and also will be grabbing a tackle prospect late. Aside from Ty and Morse's early concush, we had pretty good durabiliy upfront. Hard to believe we have a FULL returning Oline with the same starting QB, RB, TE and 2 WR's plus HC, OC, qb coach and receivers coach. Hasn't happened in decades.
  17. Reminded me of Norm from Cheers and Mike Myers doing their Da' Bears skit about how Ditka can beat anybody in anything: "What about Ditka vs Godzilla, who wins dat one?" Norm thinks about it for a second.... "Godzilla... but it's CLOSE "
  18. Hey I went to some of those UB games it was pretty nippy some days.
  19. sounds like a good Cleveland guy or maybe a Cowboy
  20. Hard to believe the tag is up to 18m for receivers. Just a few years ago Whaley dumped Robert Woods because he wanted 7m. He got it elsewhere and knocked out over 3,000 yards in three seasons. In case you forgot he was the guy that went 13 for 172 yds in week 13 and killed my fantasy hopes. im almost over that though.....
  21. Why Matt Barkley of course. He's white so they'll like that an ex Bill But seriously I think Brissett has to be in the convo, his game has grown nicely since he left there.
  22. Tyree Jackson has the perfect measurables to be a standout TE. Speed, strength, big hands/wingspan, knows routes and how to find soft spots in zones, great attitude. Knox only caught like 2 dozen passes in his life and zero TD's when we drafted him, convert Tyree and he can even play 3rd string qb to come in for sneaks.
  23. I share this same view about them being in every game except Philly. The wins and the playoffs were a huge step, but most important for me is that general feel of how we stack up against the other 31 teams, are we bringing it each week and competing at a high level. The ball will bounce the wrong way sometimes, and every NFL team had multiple losses last year, but when you have the building blocks in place and CONSISTENCY in your coaching staff for a bunch of years, the ball tends to bounce a little more in our direction now.
