Is anyone else less invested in this season than normal?
Jerome007 replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People can protest, make their own minds as they wish. Why does it have to be displayed during a sports game though? Politics and social issues have always been happening. You think that's new? But they were NOT shoved down our throats during entertainment, sports events, etc. The NFL in particular made sure no jerseys had any messages on them, nor signs were shown by the players. Football was an unifying factor. We only ask for stuff outside football to remain outside football. Is that too much to ask? I often use Dana White of the UFC as a great example. He has been a Trump supporter from day 1, has spoken at the RNC of 2016 & 2020. Yet that's on "his own time". He doesn't inject any political BS inside the UFC events, ads, promos, etc. You couldn't tell if he leans one way or the other by watching the UFC, as it should be. And their ratings are higher than ever. Why piss off a good chunk of your fanbase? It makes no sense. And it won't change a damn thing how things evolve "in real life". -

BLM and SJW crap are very offputting, I won't lie. I'm not even American and can't stand the made up agenda shoved down our throats. Sports is great at uniting people from different income classes, creed, "races", backgrounds, etc. and it"s like they want to divide us. Makes no business sense. Of course, because of all the restrictions, there were no preseason games, no build up, etc. It has happened a few times in the past for me I wasn't fully on board but from the 1st game I was back fully hooked. The no-crowd thing won't help though. Thankfully this Bills team is stacked and super exciting! Which makes it doubly weird that a lot of us are "meh" at this point. Hopefully we all get back in it big time once the season starts. I actually WANT to be hooked ha ha. -
Question: Is Moss pushing Devin to start?
Jerome007 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Blocking and protecting the QB are big roles of RB so Moss has to do that part as well. Even if he's naturally great at it (IDK), he has to know the OLine blocking assignments and all, and there were no preseason game. Tough for ALL rookies league wide. -
This thread just indicates the back field is in great shape. Whoever carries more will likely deserve it. No one is veteran status here. And of course, injuries happen and two good backs, that's better than one.
-
No doubt IMO that it's the best Bills team in years. And what a TEAM spirit they have going on - wow is it ever fun to watch. But... tough schedule, injuries, and blablabla. Nothing's given but that's exactly why the victors have so much glamour. And Positive is a bad choice of word this year ha ha

A good thing would if the XFL buys out the CFL and creates a bigger, two country league that doesn't overlap with the NFL season. Basically an alternate B league that some stars or players could move up, and some, move down and create interest. Only two countries play this style of football yet the CFL have, on purpose, all kind of different rules: 12 players instead of 11, 3 downs instead of 4, bigger and larger field, 3 minute warning instead of at the 2 minute mark (for real!), goal post at the zero yard line and on and on. I could understand a few differences but this is borderline absurd how deliberate it is. And the field is way too big. As a spectator, you feel too far way from the action. I recall going to a game at the 50 yard line, at say the bottom 3rd, which seems like the perfect spot yet still feeling far from the action, compared to any Bills game I've been to. Anyway, players would like to play, CFL have no season, XFL have new ownership, so XFL could seize the opportunity. Crossing the border of course is an issue. But isn't hockey and basketball doing it?

He acknowledges that the Bills were right to go to Singletarry. So only story is him thinking he still has it. From week 4 and onward, he had near zero left. Moss could be a bad rookie yet remain an improvement. No shame in losing some steps after 15 years at the RB position! But it was plain for all to see. If Daboll and the Bills brass let him have the ball way more than they should it was probably because of locker room etiquette and respect. I mean, they can't be that blind. Singletarry with a year of added experience and Moss to bruise people and get hard yards... along with Josh-Diggs-Brown-Beasley-Knox... what an offense even if the OLine remains just the same!

If permitted, probably not. My guess is a very significant number of the regulars will NOT show up... but they'll still sell their tickets so it would all balance out. When have we ever tried to eradicate completely a virus by shutting down? Like never. It makes zero sense. Testing, testing, and more testing is the key. As again, Covid is NOT a death machine for people under 60 with no-comorbidity, that's clear as day now. But must protect the vulnerable. It really sucks for them, but THEY should quarantine themselves, not the whole world. It should be mandatory testing for all personnel dealing with people at risks (hospitals, old folk homes, etc.) and super easy access to testing for those of us that want to see our elderly or frail family members and all. But come on, enough is enough of living in terror for this! When some college football teams had dozens of cases, how many of these players were truly sick? Was there even one case of a player severely stricken? I guess not as the media would have been all over it. I can only think of Von Miller who has been hit very hard. And by testing, these players have been quarantined and thus not infect people around them. So... what's the end-of-the-world drama here? It is a serious issue, no hoax that's for sure, a worldwide phenomena and not a local anti-Trump thing and whatnot, but those that live in fear and wants us to hole up, the NFL to end the season... wow. Get a grip. The stats are not THAT bad, at all. You see all others as dangerous threats to your health - and it won't stop for years! Fear has taken over your logical brains.

Another all mighty know-it-all that thinks his opinion is the only true one and others are all stupid idiots? We can be in disagreement with a lot of the restrictions, think Covid is NOT the apocalypse, while still thinking it IS real and NOT an hoax. One can think that since we are stuck with that damn virus for years, but for people under 60 with no co-morbidity it is not this death machine, that it might be time to come back to normal. That all the restrictions cause more issues to our society overall than the virus itself ever could. That the original goal line for restrictions was to not overload hospitals, not thinking we could get rid of it. It does not mean a different opinion is moronic and I and others think it's "an hoax". If they can have fans back, good. If not, what Jerry wants is irrelevant. He doesn't override his State's policies. But why wouldn't he want that?

Well we know the guy is mentally tough to be on the bubble, released, hired, put on the practice squad, activated, and on and on. Sure he only had one great game, but that's one more than most can say! And he blocks well so... why not. It's on him to keep his place now. Hard to say as a WR, but for end arounds and the like, he is fast!

Probabilities. Odds. So sick of you fear filled guys preaching. When it comes to KIDS, Covid is actually a lot LESS dangerous and lethal than the flu. Look it up. No, not everybody, I said KIDS. Did you keep your kids at home in the winters during "flu season"? Why not? And they are bad transmitters as well. So grand-parents and all or not that much at risk from small kids giving it to them. The solution is TESTING, random at times, mandatory for some professions. Not holing up scared till it goes away... as it might NEVER go away. Get a grip. We won't be saved by holing up. Of course I fear for my kids, mom and all that. It's natural, especially with all the drama made about it. But look at odds and numbers and stop preaching like Karens.
-
I have kids. Do you realize how so few of them have been affected at all, and most super lightly, worldwide? The very very few bad cases have of course made news. Worry is normal but damn, probabilities are so low. Worry about your parents and sick folks, not healthy people under 60. Life is dangerous but we can't live in eternal fear. Probabilities... they matter for perspective. Edit: for Tre it might be the fact he would be separated from his family or them from their extended families & friends. Yeah it sucks, bad, but that's 5-6 months... and COULD be shorter. You'd really make your husband/father lose one year of a short career and all the perks that go with it for 5-6 months of discomfort? No easy answer but... that's not THAT great a sacrifice, even though it is one.

Jon Feliciano torn pec (returning to practice 10/7)
Jerome007 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Of course it can vary in real life, but the expectations are 3-4 months. Which means November is possible, December quite sure. Still sucks, but he can there at the middle/end -
Eagles HC Pederson positive for Covid.
Jerome007 replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll do his 14 days quarantine and voila, done. Unless he is ultra sick this would be a complete non-event if the media were not so damn hellbent on spreading fear. Covid is real, but not THAT bad for the non-old non-comorbidity folks... which is 99.9% of the NFL. They need to be quarantined to protect the vulnerable people around them and move on. Stop crying like little girls. -
ESPN: The NFL's Best Offenses per Personnel Grouping
Jerome007 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care if it's 60/40 or 70/30 on way or the other if they earn it through production. It's great that this duo is a very solid and complimentary one, with both able to catch passes too. And well, injuries do happen so again having two starters is great! -
Deion Sanders not happy with his HOF bust
Jerome007 replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really does seem like a White guy LOL. In any case, nothing like him... which is the point of the bust. That's a legit complaint. -
Black Lives Matter Messaging at "The Stadium"
Jerome007 replied to SectionC3's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Leave politics and "woke" BS out of sports. That you are for, against or neutral on the topic, sports used to be a GREAT unifying element. One of the best one too. No need to add divisiveness in that area as well. -
If that would happen, I expect the NFL to negotiate with the NFLPA a % reduction on all salaries instead of just lowering the salary cap, or at least a mix of both. Unless they go full woke and scare fans away, sure their gate revenue will be down this year, but they make most of their money from TV deals, merch, etc.

Eagles and Phillies will play with no fans in the stands
Jerome007 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because the spread of the disease ain't the same in every city? Just maybe? But then, it kind of is an unfair element. I liked the Miami Fish idea a few months back of having a 25% filled stadium. Seems doable. Even at 15-20%, it'd be better than zero! -

Oh the irony. The "Jewish community” is indeed not a monolith group. But the "Jewish leaders in Philadelphia" are representing them all? -
NFL proposal to NFLPA
Jerome007 replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Their pay have gone up and up and up, year after year. No one likes a paycut, no matter how much you earn. But with careers being so short in football, you'd forego 3 millions and go for zero as you were supposed to get 4? Makes no sense. 99% of them will never make anything close to NFL money in their lifetime. They'd still make more than players a decade ago and these guys played. -
Josh Allen 45min Interview with Mark Sanchez

I still don't get Bills fans that hate Josh. He's got that "It" factor oozing from his pores. Future is bright! -
Mahomes Ten Year Deal with Chiefs
Jerome007 replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is VERY good but what a risk for KC. Injuries, motivation issues, personal drama, who knows, 10 years (12 in fact) is an eternity in NFL years. -
The hole on the Bills roster that could ruin the season
Jerome007 replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly! I was to write a similar post but no need to now. There is this thing called SALARY CAP. Plus, great players are not magically put on shelves for GMs to pick up nor stock up. Every team has holes, and every team wished it didn't. In the East, Darnold and Flacco seem the best duo when it comes to depth... but IMO they pale compared to the #1 of other teams. And the rumor is that Cam might be the backup in NE. They'll likely have a legit QB competition there for #1 spot, none is given yet.
