Tre White - Best in the League?
GreggTX replied to Houston's #1 Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think he's in the top 2 or 3, but he's very good and I hope he will sign for a fair price. -
Any Position the Bills wouldn't take the BPA in Round 2?
GreggTX replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll likely be picking no sooner than mid 2nd round, in which case there will be several potential draftees with nearly equal grades. Our biggest need ATM is RT, but I'm not going to try to predict. I just hope they don't waste our top pick on a S, RB or WR when the need is so much greater at OT, LE, CB, TE etc. I'd be fine with taking a QB in round 2 to push Allen for the starting job. -
Which running back do you hope the Bills draft and why?
GreggTX replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or we could sign a FA at a reasonable price since we aren't in need of a #1 RB. Someone like Hydr or Breida would fit the Bill. -
and the Layoffs begin @ Pegula Sports
GreggTX replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately, things may not be back to normal for a long time after this pandemic is behind us. The aftereffects could linger for years as effective solutions will not be enacted by the government which is the only institution capable of repairing much of the damage and they work for the people that don't need help so they will only enact half measures. This will affect more than sports. It's already straining my personal finances as I have 3 sons out of work and 8 grandchildren depending on me. I won't be attending any pro games for some time to come even if the Coronavirus is contained soon. -
“One-Hit Wonders” for every NFL Team
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I nominate Reuben Gant, or as we used to call him -- Reuben Can't. Also, that CB from Ohio State that got his first start guarding Jerry Rice and held him under 50 yards -- Marlon Kerner. I think he retired because of some strange illness. He seemed to be a budding star and then he was gone. -
Colts introduce a secondary logo
GreggTX replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the fans should own the teams. We'd be a lot better at it than people realize. Just vote in a CEO to make the hiring and firing decisions for HC and GM and run the business side while HC and GM make the football decisions. -

Stick with the horseshoe. The new logo looks stupid. That's good enough for me. -
Beane Draft Day Aggression - Trade up for Delpit
GreggTX replied to Mark80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be miles beyond disappointed if Beane does anything this stupid. He still needs to prove he can draft good players in the top 2 rounds and this would just be another misfire. We've been a wild card team because of great coaching and an easy schedule, but Beane still has much to prove. -
Interesting Player Starting to Slide
GreggTX replied to Madd Charlie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there is any 1 position I'd like to see addressed, it's RT. I know we just signed Darryl Williams, but he was terrible at LG last year. He reminds me of Cordy Glenn. He was great until a lower body injury limited his mobility, hence his release. Too bad we couldn't test that knee before signing him. I still think Ford would be much better at G. -
A Compilation of Some of Josh's Bad? Throws
GreggTX replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why bother with all of this nonsense? His ball placement is highly inconsistent even on short throws and a large percentage of his deep balls miss by 10 ' or more. Trust your eyes. Want our receivers to drop fewer passes? Try putting the ball on target. No receiver has an easier time bringing in passes if the ball is poorly placed. Josh Allen is an elite scrambler with great arm strength, but in the pocket, he plays like a backup. That said, he continues to improve. I'm hoping he can do what Tannehill did in Tennessee. My greatest fear is that he will do just enough to stick around a while and hold this team back like Winston did in Tampa. We have a good coaching staff and I'd hate to lose them because they refuse to part ways with him if his upward trend doesn't take him very far. He's a good person, hard worker and good leader and I'm pulling for him. Keeping my fingers crossed. He has another weapon now, but needs a better OL and TE before he can hit his full potential. -
Revisiting the pretty bad 2015 draft class
GreggTX replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doug Whaley was a decent GM and he certainly wasn't helped by bad coaching, but he couldn't spot a good QB to save his life. He also passed on Mahomes. He wasn't too bad at spotting defensive talent, though. I could see him being hired as a Pro Personnel Director maybe. He did OK in that job. -
I can only think of Roscoe Parrish and Leodis McKelvin here. Andre Roberts may be considered today's best PR, but I don't think he's anywhere near as good as Roscoe and Leodis were. Some of those moves Parrish used to make were just insane! Am I leaving anyone out? I've been a Bills fan since day 1 and I don't recall anyone from the first 40 years (1960 - 2000) that was as exciting as these 2 guys.

Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3
GreggTX replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He needs to finish the season with a passing efficiency greater than 100 and cut the number of fumbles down. I won't get into completion rate, YPA, TD's and picks because that all factors into the passing efficiency rating anyways. -
This is ridiculous. No one "hates" Josh Allen. Some of us are just being realistic about his serious flaws and aren't going to see him as a guy that can win a SB until he actually reaches that level, if he ever reaches that level. He still has a long way to go. His passing efficiency rating was a wopping 69.2. He was 2nd in the NFL in fumbles. He does not handle pressure as well as most QB's and he holds the ball too long. In all fairness, he hasn't had a good supporting cast overall and the OL still needs a lot of improvement. Hopfully the mental aspects of the game will improve for him. He has good leadership skills and work ethic, but his accuracy will always be a liability. I like him, but I don't know if he can ever be a great passer. I sure hope so. I'm just not going to say he's a great QB until he plays like one. There is nothing unreasonable or wrong with that. We hold every other player to that standard, yet Josh gets a free pass. I just hope that some day he will be as good as some people think he already is.

They're both very average starters, but LB's are so much easier to replace and OT's are more valuable. I like Milano, but I'd have to go with Dawkins here.

Rosenthal: True QB value rankings from 1-35
GreggTX replied to chris heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
23rd sounds about right. His inaccuracy, fumbling, inability to handle pressure, etc always get a free pass from his admirers. I'm just hoping he can get it together finally in 2020. -
5th year option on Allen or bid on Watson in FA in 22
GreggTX replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have bemoaned Josh's poor accuracy since before he was drafted, but he has many other positives in spades so I'm anxious to see what he can do in year 3. If he can put together anything resembling a 4000 yard season with a 65% completion rate and 25 TD's while holding the picks + fumbles total to single digits, he's my guy. If not, all options are on the table. Hopefully he can operate much better under pressure in 2020. -
Ah yes. The PK with half a foot. I still remember when he set the record at 63 yards.
