  1. I just watched a PFF podcast draft review. The Bills got all of 5 seconds in a 1 hr 40 min discussion. Basically it was "nothing flashy, but they got good guys that can play."
  2. At this point in the draft it is highly unlikely that you'll find 1 guy that is measurably better than all the remaining players. In that instance you just take the guy in that top remaining group that best fills a need.
  3. We should have signed this guy. I agree OP.
  4. While OBD snoozes. Why do they refuse to fix our OL? They made a good start last year, except for Ford, and now they've just given up. Sad.
  5. Best pick so far. I don't know if he'll be good, but until we find a franchise QB we have to keep looking. I'm relieved to know that OBD understands this.
  6. Almost got it. Use that other pick for an OT.
  7. An elite OT. I know there probably isn't one still out there unless we just get stupid lucky. The right side of our OL is weak and Ford is a freakin' turnstile at RT. He needs to move inside if he's ever going to be any good. Everybody keeps talking about how they want us to score more points. Granted, the OL was much better in '19 than it was in '18, but we still have a lot of room for improvement. Our OL is very mediocre overall. We don't have any probowl worthy OL. Dominating in the trenches would raise the performance level of the offense considerably. People talk endlessly about skill position players and their sexy stats, but they only talk about the OL when they are historically bad. Running an offense with good receivers and backs and a mediocre OL is like racing a Ferrari with an underpowered engine. It looks great, but never seems to go as fast as you need it to. There's only 1 goal -- Win the SB. Mediocrity doesn't cut it any more.
  8. Shouldn't we wait until at least 1 or 2 of his 1st and 2nd round picks lives up to their draft status? Also, he has apparently given up on putting a good OL together despite the fact that he had more cap space than 27 other teams. That said, I think Oliver still has a shot at greatness and maybe Edmunds might turn out OK. I do think a lot of people overrate him, though.
  9. He should be a decent backup RB. Too bad we have done nothing to bolster the blocking.
  10. Our biggest need (by far) was to get a solid RT so we could move Ford to G. We haven't done anything about that yet. Epenesa, from everything I've read, will be an average DE. T Murphy is an average DE. I like our new RB, though. Not great vision like DS, but a tough downhill runner with good speed and soft hands. I still think day 2 was too soon to draft a backup RB, but so be it. It's too late to draft a starting caliber RT, so it looks like Allen will be facing a lot of pressure again and he handles pressure very poorly. I am not a big Beane fan after this offseason. With a much tougher schedule than last year, I can see this team winning 2 or 3 fewer games this coming season. That will have the TBD crowd calling for heads to roll.
  11. Mel Kiper Jr. The Human Bobblehead
  12. I thought the Jets and 'fins did well. We had a ton of cap space and we've only added 1 impact player. There's still time for another big trade, though.
  13. He certainly passes the eye test no matter what the numbers say. He is special. Bring in Carlos Hyde to back him up and we're strong at RB, IMO. What our running game really needs is a huge upgrade at RT and RG, but Beans has done nothing to improve the OL this offseason. Trent Williams appears appears to be the only option, but does Beane think he's a process guy? Would he even sign for the right price? Ford needs to move inside, but the prospect of starting Nsekhe or Williams at RT is pretty scary. We ranked pretty high in rushing yards as a team, but much of that was due to Allen's scrambling ability.
  14. No. Just ... no. Ngakoue is good, but not great and Fournette is far from special. I'd give our 2nd for Ngakoue. Any number of FA's and day 3 RB's could be just as good as Fournette.
  15. Who cares about any of that? We do not have a proven QB anyways. We need someone that can compete for the starting job. Besides, this is the most important position in football. It should always be top priority. We should always be looking. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that Beane will stay tied at the hip to Allen and both he and McDermott will sink along with him. McDermott is a good HC, but you have to learn to move on from your mistakes. They did it with KB. Will they do the same with Lotulelei and Josh? In all fairness, I'd give Allen more time, but if he doesn't show at least twice the improvement in 2020 that he showed in 2019, it's time to move on.
  16. RB's and LB's can easily be had in FA, but weave done nothing to bolster either position despite more thsan $80 million in cap space. We should take care of those positions before the draft. AJ Klein is good depth, but we need a starter. Unfortunately OBD was asleep at the switch while all the good OLB's and CB's were being signed. We should be addressing our OL in this draft, but unfortunately we will need to do something about OLB in this draft. We could still address DE and RB before the draft, but probably won't. I have a bad feeling our defense could slip considerably in 2020 if we don't do something significant at all 3 levels. Additionally, RT is the biggest hole on our roster and we look no better there. I think D Williams will continue to struggle. He was terrible at LG last year. Let's hope he has a miraculous recovery.
  17. Well, of all the starting QB's in the AFCE last season, Josh was 3rd in passing efficiency behind Brady and Fitzpatrick.Fitz, Josh and Darnold were all within a couple points of each other while Brady was far ahead of all 3. Depending on what the Pats do at QB, Allen could be anywhere from 1st to 4th this season.
  18. Feliciano is a below average starter or better than average backup -- however you want to say it. Ford is terrible at RT, but might turn out OK at G. Spain and Dawkins are very average starters. Unless we're aiming for mediocrity, we need to continue working to upgrade the OL. We had nearly $90 million in cap space and we haven't signed any FA's that I'm even remotely excited about. Boehm is strictly a backup and Williams has been really terrible since his knee injury. I'd love to use our 1st pick on a RT. If not, use it for Lorenzo's replacement and then a RT. Everyone falsely assumes that our OL is 'fixed'. It's not. Not by a long shot. We need to score more points and with Diggs on board, RT is now the biggest 'hole' on offense. TE would be next unless Knox can bring his catch % way up, but that's hard to do when you're always having to adjust to the ball.
  19. What drug are we talking about? If it's pot, I'd still take a chance if he falls into round 2. As long as it's nothing addictive. Nigel Bradham got busted with pot and he got his act together.
  20. There are already RB FA's out there that are just as good so why give away draft picks for nothing? I don't even want to waste a draft pick on a RB when guys like Hyde and Anderson can be had at very reasonable prices. Use those day 3 picks to look for OL and DE help. Maybe we'll find the proverbial diamond in the rough. The next Ed Wang! (j/k)
  21. This guy may only be a backup, but he's a measurable improvement over the current IOL depth we had before we signed him. He might even push Feliciano for the starting job at RG and he's a C. I think he'll take Spencer Long's place at least.
  22. They put him at 12 which was very generous because none of his round 1 or 2 picks have lived up to their draft position yet. At least we got an elite player by trading away our 1st rounder this year. His FA signees have been mixed -- Some OK, some bad signings. I'm deeply disappointed with this year's crop of FA's, especially considering how much money we had to spend. I'm worried that we may face another irrelevant December with the playoffs out of reach given the schedule and lack of improvement during FA.
  23. Breida resigned with SF (Boo!) so my next choice is either Carlos Hyde or Jay Ajayi. We don't need to waste a day 2 pixk on a backup RB. I'd prefer an OT, pass rusher (DE or OLB) or RG or even a TE on day 2.
  24. We've probably lost as much or more than we've gained on defense despite all the FA money we had. We've literally done nothing for the offense outside of trading picks for Diggs. Our OL and DL have a long way to go. I don't think this roster is nearly as solid as many others do. Our best bet (after finding a franchise QB) is to build in the trenches.
  25. Our DL really isn't very good. Something is wrong if that's where we are spending big $. Oliver is on a rookie deal and still needs to show that he was worth a top 10 pick. I think he'll improve, but how much? Lotulelei is below average and overpaid. Hughes is still above average, but slipping. None of the newest DL signed as FA's this year are anything special. Also, H Phillips may turn out OK, but he's also a big question mark at this point.
