Redskins facing severe pressure to change name.
GreggTX replied to Walking Tall's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The origin of the term "redskins" refers to piles of skin sliced off the corpses of the indigenous and covered with blood. The government paid well for these 'proof of murder' skins and, in fact, many men fashioned a career out of mass murder of indigenous people. Some other body parts were also accepted and rewarded. One of the better known instances of this arrangement occurred during the California Gold Rush where many prospectors couldn't make enough money looking for gold, so they organized weekend murder parties to kill indigenous and turn in "redskins" for rewards. Ya think that label might bother some folks in a country where wiping every last one of them off the face of the earth was once official government policy? -
Josh Allen and the Deep Ball - Roundtable Discussion
GreggTX replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not Lamar Jackson and Greg Roman? -
It shouldn't be too much to require that fans wear a mask and seat groups of fans that come together in clusters, maintaining a proper distance from other groups. They could also filter the crowd into seats by their seating locations so everyone isn't clogging up the walkways together. Same on the way out. You could maybe fill 1/4th of the stadium safely???

No one in their right mind is giving a 1st round pick for Allen until he can prove himself. He has yet to do that and he has a long way to go.

Michael Lombardi "Bills have a huge hole at QB".
GreggTX replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh showed marginal improvement in his 2nd season, but not as much as many imagine. He'll need to show that improvement 4 times over if he's ever going to win a SB.. Is that even possible? -
I'm really hoping for breakout years for Oliver and Edmunds on D (as well as C Ford on O) and a nice contribution from Epinesa and Norman.

Michael Lombardi "Bills have a huge hole at QB".
GreggTX replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately, he is 100% correct about fixing inaccuracy. The only way Josh Allen scares defenders is by pulling the ball down and running with it. We need someone whose natural arm accuracy forces defenses to adjust. No need to keep the safeties back if the QB misses everything over 20 yards by a wide margin. He also has the worst short range accuracy. Joe Ferguson could take this team deep into the playoffs. Let's see what Allen can do in year 3. -
Does the NFL have a bubble plan? Covid rising
GreggTX replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daily testing. Immediate isolation of any carriers until tests negative. Testing of all known associates to track source. Well, if the "whole world" knows that includes all of us. -
This is to predict the performance of each unit in 2020 based on the current roster. The DL and QB units were particularly tough to predict and could end up much better. QB: C RB: B TE: C- WR: A OL:C- CB: B- (After White, the rest is just average) S: A LB: C+ (Not as good as advertised, but not bad either) DL: C (Tough to predict how Oliver, Phillips and Epenesa will perform) ST: C+

What is the best Hilton chain hotel to stay for game day
GreggTX replied to Cusefan66214's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ask Tom Brady. He's an expert on Buffalo hotels. -
Maybe stretching a bit on some, but here are some others Darryl Lamonica - Ken Stabler Craig Morton - John Elway Ken Anderson - Boomer Esiason Jim Zorn - Dave Krieg Ron Jaworski - Randall Cunningham Charlie Connerly - YA Tittle Norm Snead - Sonny Jurgensen - Billy Kilmer - Joe Theisman Don Meredith - Craig Morton - Roger Staubach - Danny White Brian Sipe - Bernie Kosar (but 1 year in between them) Also, we had Dennis Shaw and Joe Ferguson back to back, but Shaw was only here 3 years before he kinda fizzled out. They were both solid at times, but not great.

He's 20-something as a passer and the 2nd best scrambler. I hope he can be a top 10 passer some day, but I'm concerned. I respect Simms' opinions and I like listening to him. He says accuracy can be fixed, but I've never seen that happen before and Josh can't seem to hit the deep ball with any regularity often missing by several yards. Even his short range accuracy was ranked 37th for the past season. If he becomes the 1st QB to go from bottom to near top in accuracy and the game slows down for him I will be elated. 1 other point -- Dak has an excellent OL and one of the top 3 RB's in the NFL.

Josh: Bringing Sexy (Throw)Back
GreggTX replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the old 60's uniforms best. They remind me of the only real champions in franchise history. And why does anyone care what Allen looks like? I'll like the way he looks when he learns to aim. -
Politics in Football, Sports in General
GreggTX replied to OutOfBubbleGum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're very fortunate to be apolitical. Others are not so fortunate. They can't ignore the things that impinge their rights and safety any more than you can turn a blind eye to your home being burned down. This is a sign of white privilege. I'm not remotely suggesting that you are a racist. I take your words at face value. Try to understand that for some people, racism has brought terrible injustice and fear in every aspect of their lives. To hear players, coaches and commentators address such important issues seems like a very small price to pay and it won't put the slightest dent in my enjoyment of the game. In fact, I think it's very reassuring. -
Fitz will be fine with Chan running the offense. There's no telling how Tua will end up. I also think it would be interesting to see if Rosen can do something with a few tools to work with and Chan's tutelege.

LOL We got stuck with Josh Allen again? I'd have drafted a QB that can throw straight. SMH...

Shaq Lawson weighs in about some of our QBs.
GreggTX replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish we had accomplished half of what Miami did in FA. They signed multiple very good players. We signed a bunch of backups. Their defense will be much improved. We'll have the highest paid bench in the NFL. Also, the Dolphins are a well coached team. I think Shaq's best years are still ahead of him. -
Jake Fromm: Controversial comments
GreggTX replied to Elite Poster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Continues what exactly? Based on the comments I've seen from him in this thread, there is no cause for concern. None. Is it detrimental to the team that he favors his college coach? Is it detrimental to the team that he is upset about racist remarks? He should be. What's the problem? -
Jake Fromm: Controversial comments
GreggTX replied to Elite Poster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly Jake's actions were wrong. There's no serious debate about that point. He has also embarrassed the entire organization and reopened old wounds for Josh Allen. Despite that, however, I am willing to forgive, but on 1 condition. Young Mr. Fromm needs become part of the solution by actively working for it and I stress the word 'actively'. Wether it's engaging in protests on an ongoing basis or speaking to groups or whatever is up to him. "I'm sorry" is not enough. -
Which players do we trade away during training camp?
GreggTX replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They would be incredibly stupid to release Ford before giving him a shot at RG. Kroft is an average TE. Until someone proves that they are any better than that, there's no reason to release him. -
8 or 9 wins sounds about right. I'll expect a big leap from JA when I see it. I don't see us upsetting the Chiefs either. Mahomes will clearly show why he, not Allen, should have been our QB. We'd be a clear favorite to win the SB in 2020 if we'd drafted him.
-
Yup. He'd look real nice in Bills Blue. I wonder what numbers he's asking for.
