Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves here? Josh isn't in the HOF just yet. He's had 4 really good games in 2020 and if he continues to play at this level (and cure his fumblitis) he probably will get the nod some day. I'll grant you that it's looking pretty good, but like many fans, you're counting your chickens before they hatch. I'm not saying you can never predict this. I'm pretty sure Brady is going to the HOF with a unanimous 1st ballot vote, but he's already made his case. Josh still has a little more work to do, but he's young enough to be Brady's son. There's plenty of time for that.

For the last 2 years, I've thought the Chiefs got the better of us when they moved up to #10 and drafted Mahomes while we got very valuable draft picks and a top CB. Now that Allen has come of age, the question deserves to be revisited? Mahomes has won a SB, a SB MVP and a league MVP. Pretty impressive. The Bills have never won a SB, but each week Josh Allen looks more and more like a QB that could give us the grand prize since 1964-1965. Will Josh Allen be sporting a SB ring some day? Will he win more rings than Mahomes? Clearly both teams benfitted from that blockbuster trade, but who got the better deal?

Bills work out CB Lafayette Pitts
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This does not bode well. The schedule continues to get harder as key injuries mount. -
It sounds like some of us are overlooking the Titans. I sure hope the Bills aren't making that mistake! We will be handed our heads if we do, especially with all the injuries piling up. Some of you are talking like this somehow is not a 3-0 team that just made a deep playoff run. This will be our toughest test to date. We need to start putting teams away in the 2nd half instead of letting them back in the game. We'll need our run game as well as our passing game working as well as containing the reigning leading rusher from 2019.

Chargers: Herbert will remain starter, Tyrod to bench
GreggTX replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel bad for Tyrod. I hope he gets another shot somewhere else. Still, Herbert is playing very well for a rookie and they'd be foolish to go back to Tyrod unless something changes. -
Not sure if this helps, but if a friend has gamepass you could ask him to let you watch. Also, if you're out of the country, YouTube posts complete games. I never miss a game even when I'm in the Philippines.

Week 6: Chiefs at Bills (+5): Monday 5pm on Fox
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm wondering if "later in the weekend" means another Monday night double header. I'm also wondering if the Tuesday night game will be broadcast nationally. I have gamepass, but it's always better to watch live so you don't know the final score. Then again, I might have a heart attack watching us blow another big lead before a last minute comeback. How do we know that the Titans need a spanking if we don't know how the virus was contracted or do we? -
I already knew that Poyer was really good and underrated, but I wasn't expectimg DW to reach this level again and so soon! What a HUGE boost for our offense along with Diggs having a great season and Josh Allen's enormous progress this season. I hope Cody Ford and Knox are able to make such big leaps soon too! Williams was so bad last year that the Panthers just let him walk and look at him now! I hope they extend Williams soon. I believe he's signed for just 2020.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Raiders (The Athletic)
GreggTX replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm really happy that Phillips is back in form. I don't understand all the hate he gets in this forum. I'm equally happy to see D Williams playing, especially on the edge after he struggled so much at LG in 2019. It looks like Williams was the other big signing of the offseason. I hope they don't wait to extend him. So dissapointed with Edmunds. He has all the tools, but just hasn't put it together yet. -
I agree the changes helped, but that doesn't explain everything. They were embarrassed by the Rams and played like they had something to prove. I've always preferred Milano to Edmunds, but I'd rather see Klein on the field than Dodson. Klein is a shade below average, but still much better than Dodson and has more experience.

Sign of the End Times - Jerry Sullivan
GreggTX replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always liked Sully and still do. He is brutally honest and some people just couldn't handle it. Even now, any criticism of the Bills however valid evokes flames of wrath on this forum. Get over it. You don't live in a perfect world and honesty is no sin. I can't think of a single local sportswriter that's remotely as forthright or interesting as Sully. -
A Few Thoughts About the Raiders, in no particular order

Postgame Thread: Bills at Raiders
GreggTX replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were a few guys that made 1 good play here or there, but the lion's share of the credit goes to Allen. He made a bad decision to hold the ball on the late sack, but he carried the team to victory again. -
Is Mahomes better than Josh Allen and Tre White ... now?
GreggTX replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know. Mahomes has an NFL MVP and a SB MVP. Allen's improvement since last Winter has been unprecedented, but it's only 3 games so far. I want to see how Josh does against the Patriots, Chiefs and Seahawks first. Let's see how well he plays in January. I am hopeful, though. -
Jackson is what you get when you upgrade Tyrod.

Bills vs Raiders—— Pick the score
GreggTX replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My last 2 simulations: 1: Bills 29, Traitors 26 in OT 2. Bills 38, Traitors 17 In both Madden sim/spectate games, Singletary had more than 180 total yards from scrimmage and Diggs was a very busy man. Allen played well, but not as well as he has been. Note, I have edited the Bills from the existing Madden rating. Allen got +10 to his accuracy (SAC, MAC, DAC) and +14 to his AWR. He is an OVRL 91. Singletary got +10 boosts to Awareness (AWR), Ball Carrier Vision (BCV) & Break Tackle (BRT). Most of the OL got +2 boosts. Dawkins, Ford and Williams got slightly larger boosts and all defenders got +5 to Awareness (AWR) and Play Recognition (PRC). Chalk up the boosts on defense to coaching. I should probably give the entire roster a boost to Toughness (TGH) as well. I also use my own CPU Sliders. Trae White had 3 picks in the 2nd game and in both games we had a bunch of coverage sacks. -
I'd have to give Aaron Rogers the nod over Josh at this point, but to think he was 24th in passing efficiency rating just last year and 2nd so far this year. That's a breathtaking step in a very short time.

So much rides with Ford and Williams. Can Williams get back to the level he played at before the knee injury? Can Ford become a probowl caliber guard?

Ask again in 3 weeks. We'll know a lot more then.
