  1. We hardly knew ye? He spent many years with us and was an exceptional blocking TE. I knew him quite well. It amazes me how much some people hate on him.
  2. I believe Fitz still wants to start. He played very well last year, but I doubt he'll get starter money. I'd very much like him at OBD as a QB coach. He certainly fits the culture and he's smarter than most NFL HC's.
  3. Normally I'd prefer that Beane trade the high picks for a proven game changer since Allen is the only solid value he's gotten in the top 2 rounds, but this year our cap situation demands that we get solid day 1 starters in those rounds. Depending on other moves in FA or trade, I would expect us to stay put and take a CB or Edge Rusher or OT. I'll be disappointed if we go for a LB or RB or TE in the 1st round unless there is a generational talent available there, but we'd have to trade way up for that.
  4. A 1st round pick for Darnold? Who the heck is going to do that?
  5. No. He's half the football player he was with NE. We can do better and I doubt he'd come anyways. He wants to play with Brady.
  6. No. He's a real person.
  7. Too bad he's not very good. We'll need to seriously upgrade his position this offseason because Ford isn't very good either. At least Feliciano is average and he has a great attitude.
  8. Now get the Madden raters to open their eyes.
  9. Hard to say. That defense was firing on all cylinders. Brady got the MVP, but the entire defense of the Bucs really deserved it.
  10. He is very versatile. I'd like to see him stay for the right price.
  11. No RB in round 1 please. There are plenty available in FA and the 2 we have are decent if not great. A CB or edge rusher would be a far better pick if there's value there. If not, take the best OL available. Please no RB or LB in round 1. That said, it's time for Beane to start nailing these 1st round picks. Josh has been his only solid value in round 1 or 2 thus far.
  12. I'll be surprised if the Dolphins give up on Tua so soon. The guy hasn't even played a full season. I also think the Colts are a likely contender since they're already a playoff caliber team. Washington, Chicago and San Francisco would be much improved with him on board too.
  13. He's on ghe other side of 30 now, but his 2 major injuries were muscle tears. He's never had a serious knee, ankle, hip or foot injury as far as I know and has kept himself in top shape all along. I say he's got 3 good years left. Offer him say $30 million for 3 years. Put the bigger cap hits at the back end when the cap is likely to go back up. Schopp says he wants to see Curtis Samuel replace John Brown whom many expect to be gone. I'd also like that move. I can see us going CB, OL, OL in the top 3 rounds if JJ Watt is a Bill and I think signing for 3 years instead of 2 might sound pretty good to him. I really think he's got 3 very good years left given his injury history and exceptional work ethic.
  14. My 5 cents (in no particular order): 1. Continue upgrading the OL. 2. Upgrade DT opposite Oliver. 3. Ramp up the pass rush (DE) so we don't have to blitz as much. 4. Upgrade the TE position. 5. Upgrade the CB2 position That doesn't seem impossible. Even if we nail just 3 of those 5 thing and maybe do very slight upgrades on the other 2, we can be as good as any team in the NFL. This assumes that we stay healthy and Josh takes his next step. I don't think he could possibly improve as much as he did from year 2 to year 3. That's just not possible, but he can still get better through work and experience.
  15. So apparently winning in the trenches and defense still matter in the 21st century, despite what so many think. I never doubted it. I hope Beane was watching.
  16. He was much improved in 2020. Lock him up.
  17. He's a solid CB3. We need to upgrade at CB2.
  18. He's not even a capable backup. We should add an OL on draft day 1 or 2. Our weakness at G is the primary reason our run game struggled at times. Both Singletary and Moss ranked high in yards after initial contact. Our OL is still a work in progress.
  19. Milano is good, but hardly irreplaceable. This is not the year to get top dollar, but if we drop Milano, Lotulelei and Addison, I believe that gets us under the cap but probably not enough. Addison got overpaid, was 34 and was pretty much invisible. We'd have to eat some dead money for dropping Addison ($4 mill?), but would still save over $2 mill. Stop overpaying medioce players Beane! I wouldn't mind (if we lost Milano) to move Edmunds outside and draft a MLB on day 2. I'll be mildly surprised if we don't keep Brown though. We can't fill too many holes and neither Diggs nor Davhave top speed. Diggs can get deep, but he doesn't have T Hill speed. Then again. I really hope there's a great value at OT, DE or outside CB at #30. A day 2 TE would be nice too, but I'm not crazy about drafting a LB or TE in the 1st unless it's a 'once every few years' talent that inexplicably falls to us. If nothing else, make this team stronger in the trenches. We need a game changer on the DL.
  20. I'll preface my remarks by saying that we have the highest paid DL in the NFL, but on the field, they are average on their best days. I'm glad Oliver plays well against backups, but I still say he wasn't worth a top 10 pick. Murphy and Lotulelei need to move on and I'd add Addison, but I'm assuming we'd have to eat a lot of dead money to move him. Correct me if I'm wrong about him though. I'd love to see us add JJ Watt while unloading some of these guys. Maybe Oliver and Hughes would be better if we added Watt. He's getting up there, but has had no lasting injuries. Muscle tears can heal up nicely so maybe we could still get 4 really good years from him. We could possibly even negotiate a new contract for him as well. I'll never understand all the adulation for Feliciano. He's just an average NFL G, but people talk like he's one of the better G's in the NFL. He's OK. The real issue is that after Feliciano, we got nuthin at G. Ford and Boettger are just awful. I can only hope that Ford will come back healthy and justify his high 2nd round selection. If the Bills wanted, they could trade for a guy like Trent Brown and move D Williams inside. Of course, this all assumes that we make room to add upgrades, but it's doable. We certainly have some overpaid guys on this roster. Above all, Beane MUST get better results from his 1st and 2nd round selections. So far, Allen has been the only solid value there.
  21. If getting way outplayed twice by KC taught me anything, it was that we need to seriously ramp our DL. The same is true of our OL. We have starters on both lines that wouldn't be starters for most other teams.
  22. I think we played scared. It's that old Yankees Pinstripes thingy. Brady won't be afraid. They played man coverage a lot and I thought Josh should have taken advantage of that by scrambling more, even for modest gains. Also, if I'm to be honest, KC just has better talent right now. Our roster is still a work in progress.
  23. Mine are: 1. DLE (I miss being able to get after the QB with just 4 DL) 2. CB2 (but keep Wallace as CB3) 3. LG (We surely can do better than Boettger and Ford) 4. TE (I'm beginning to doubt Knox.) 5. DT (Oliver has really disappointed me and none of the others are starting caliber IMO.) 6. MLB (Maybe Edmunds would be better at OLB)
  24. I'd like to see us draft a solid RT and move Williams to LG. I don't know what to say about Singletary. He looked great as a rookie, but faltered in year 2. Moss wasn't too impressive either. Norman could also be released to free up cap space along with Lotulelei, Murphy and Addison. Edmunds, Ford and Oliver could be trade bait. Morse is overpaid, but Feliciano shouldn't even be a starter. I like him as 1st man off the bench at C/G though.
  25. I like Milano, but there's no way I'd cut Hyde to keep him. Hyde is much better. If we need $, let's dump Lotulelei and Addison who are grossly overpaid.
