He yelled to the camera multiple times this year "That's why I make the big bucks!", so it would appear he believes he is sufficiently well paid already.

Positions to look at/improve in the offseason
MJS replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily you. But I've seen people make comments that everyone should be replaced on defense except White, Poyer, and Hyde. There are fans who are jumping off the ledge right now and can't see the big picture. I'm sure glad fans aren't in charge of this team. -

Seems like people want to tear down the team that got us to the AFC Championships... -
He must be an alien.

Which RBS do we go after this offseason?

Someone fast. -
Maybe we should start an "Airing of Grievances" thread for all these random, little, negative thoughts that people have about the game.

[Incomplete Title] If Josh and Mahomes switched teams....
MJS replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mahomes looked pretty awesome. He made a few throws that Allen would not have been able to, I think. But yes, that was not the major difference in the game. -
Cole Beasley broke his damn fibula vs Patriots Week 16

Broken means fractured. A fracture can be a complete or partial break in a bone. Saying it is broken is accurate. -
Daboll playcalling vs cheifs O play calling
MJS replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think fans point to play calling when things don't work. To my eye the issue was execution. Blocking was a huge issue. The oline did not play well. It is hard to have a play work when you can't block. Being one dimensional really hamstrings the offense, including the ability to be creative. Creativity requires keeping the defense guessing. But that's hard to do when you only do one thing well. That's why fixing the run game is item number 1 on the agenda this off-season. -
What are your ideas to fix the Bills' running game for next year?
MJS replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is job #1 for Beane and Daboll this off-season. Daboll needs to change up the scheme. Beane needs to add a dynamic back. I doubt we will be able to wholesale change the oline, so we need to find a way to make it work with the guys we have, for the most part. The run game was not a huge issue last season. They weren't great, but they were better. -
I agree. But I think the oline needs to be built up through the draft over the next few years. Feliciano is an average player. In fact that's what everyone on the line is. Dawkins is above average. Maybe Morse too (although he isn't very strong). The rest are average or below average. I think we should stick with the current oline going forward with the goal of trying to upgrade over time. If we cut John Brown I guess that means we need to invest in the position elsewhere, like a draft pick or free agent signing. Brown is good. He isn't great. But this year he was injured all year. Maybe give him a chance to get healthy and back to contributing. If the team decides to move on, though, I'm ok with it.

DE Trent Murphy - Let walk TE Tyler Kroft - Let walk LB Matt Milano - Resign CB Josh Norman - Let walk OL Ty Nsekhe - Let walk OL Jon Feliciano - Resign OL Brian Winters - Let walk WR Andre Roberts - Let walk OL Daryl Williams - Resign (Maybe) QB Matt Barkley - Let walk RB Taiwan Jones - Resign RB TJ Yeldon - Let walk S Dean Marlowe - Resign WR Isaiah McKenzie - Resign CB Levi Wallace - Resign LB Andre Smith - Whatever I think most of our olinemen are average. That's fine, but I'd like to see some efforts at upgrading them over the next few years. We need to get a pass rusher. Somehow, someway. We need to fix the running game. I think scheme and blocking is the biggest issue, but I wouldn't mind drafting a better running back too.

Daboll playcalling vs cheifs O play calling
MJS replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is our life for the next few months. Lucky us. One million ridiculous threads a day about how horrible the Bills are and how horrible the coaches are. We got beat by a better team. That doesn't mean our coaches are bad or our players are bad. It just means we need to get better. Play calling was fine. Execution was the issue. Perhaps preparedness was an issue, which is a coaching thing. Injuries to our skill positions was an issue. And yes, our coaches are not at the level of Andy Reid yet. Doesn't make them bad. -
We did start blitzing and when we did it turned into a HUGE play or a TD every single time.
-
The Chiefs are going to win. It probably won't be that close.
-
That's the hope. Allen can progress more. Daboll has to show he can fix the running schemes and not only the passing schemes. They can add more talent on offense and defense. My concern is dealing with the Chiefs offense. That's not so simple. They are one of the best offenses I have ever seen. They have weapons that are demoralizing. The combination of Kelce, Hill, Mahomes, and Andy Reid is deadly. I think the key is pressuring Mahomes and preventing him from getting the ball into the hands of those playmakers. So on defense they need to get a big time pass rusher who can dominate. That's not likely unless they somehow trade for one. I think the Bills can be really good, but the Chiefs are a dynasty. It sucks they had to come around at the same time the Bills got good. But that's just the reality. But let's see how the Bills answer next year. They are going to be pissed and on a mission.
-
When they brought pressure they got burned. When they dropped into coverage they got burned. What would have them do? They got beat by a really good team.
-
An elite edge rusher would be nice.

Whelp. It was a good season. Nice run. Hopefully the Bills come back angry next year and put together another run.
