  1. I think most of the opinions were pretty valid at the time. Diggs had a breakout year. Yeah, everyone knew he was a good receiver, but at the time there was not evidence of him being an All-Pro receiver and being able to lead the league in receptions and receiving yards. And those who thought Thielen was better were justified in how the Vikings used them both. Thielen seemed to be the go-to receiver there with Diggs used as a deep threat. At the time of the trade there were tons of people saying we overpaid, including Bills fans. Turns out we did not overpay and Diggs was a huge difference maker and proved he could be one of the best receivers in the league. But at the time, Diggs had had a couple of 1,000 yard seasons and showed he was a great route runner, but he had not shown that he was an All-Pro caliber receiver yet. I was not against the trade when it happened and I was hopeful of what Diggs could mean to the offense, but I don't think it was wrong for others to have been worried about the move and think we gave up too much at the time.
  2. I don't think Lebron James has the same presence that Jordan had. And I think Jordan was a little more likable than Lebron too. So ultimately I do think he had a larger, more varied audience willing to watch him. So while they may be similar as far as talent and dominance, I think it was easier for people to watch Jordan. And, maybe the NBA as a whole was a little easier to watch back then versus now. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like players change teams a lot more often today, even some of the greatest players. Jordan played the majority of his career with one team.
  3. Sure, but I watched him play and he certainly deserves a fair share of the blame himself.
  4. He is a single digit sack guy. Mario Addison's stats are better.
  5. You might be holding onto the past too much. Wentz has seriously regressed. He threw 16 TD's and 15 INT's last year. Rating of 72.8. Trubisky has played better than that every single year of his career. He threw 16 TD's and only 8 INT's last year. Good for a 93.5 rating. I do think Wentz would probably be marginally better, but no, he is not that much of an upgrade and the Bears would do well to look for someone better. Wentz isn't going to miraculously revive his career. You might as well stick with who you got and draft someone or try to trade for someone better.
  6. Because I don't see him as an upgrade.
  7. I don't think their defense would have been significantly better with the opt outs. They lost a lot of talent BEFORE the opt outs, and I have a hunch they will be moving on from Gilmore. But I do respect Belichick's ability to scrape together a respectable defense. He has always been able to. But their offense was horrible, and it's the first time he has had to build an offense without Brady. Brady isn't there anymore to make lemonade out of lemons. Their offense needs a significant injection of talent at basically every position group, especially QB. I don't see them doing that without a rebuild.
  8. It's all plausible. But I do wonder why the Bears would be interested in Wentz. And NE going with a backup caliber QB is fine by me. I think Mariota is one of the better backups in the league, but he is not going to move the needle much for the Patriots, I don't think. I think maybe the Patriots should take their medicine and go full rebuild and maybe draft a guy next year. Maybe getting Mariota helps achieve that, I don't know.
  9. Seemed like a legitimate call to me. Yeah, at the end of games sometimes you see officials put their flags away and allow stuff like that, but it seems to fit the definition of pass interference to me.
  10. He has only had double digits once and that was back in 2017.
  11. Do they consider him a top 50 free agent?
  12. He is a quality kicker.
  13. A lot of people don't like them. I know that. Personally, I don't mind them all that much. They certainly aren't my favorites, though.
  14. They usually sound like it too. Just a couple of buddies reminiscing about the old days and spit balling about football. Not the highest quality, but you can do worse.
  15. Do kids in Alabama and other schools not have names? I don't get why people say "kid from..." all the time. Do you really not know his name?
  16. If they resign Milano I don't see a huge need at LB. WR could be the same group and be just fine next year (especially with John Brown and Cole Beasley healthy), though they might want to consider adding a bigger, strong WR at some point in the future. I know many think that TE is a huge need, but I value that position less than many of the others we need, so I'll say if we take the same unit into next year I will be just fine with that, as long as they beef up the oline and fix the run game. Biggest needs I see on defense are a run stuffing DT (preferably someone better than Star), Edge Rusher, and #2 CB. On offense it's all about the running game, so draft the best, most talented RB you can and invest more in the offensive line. And Daboll better be doing his homework this off-season to improve the run scheme.
  17. Edmunds is not going to switch to OLB. It isn't going to happen any time soon. That's not actually the case, though. Dodson is inferior to Milano is just about every imaginable way, including athleticism.
  18. Anyone playing at the level in a sport is an elite athlete compared to the rest of us. They are elite athletes because they are good enough to compete at that level, regardless of their ranking among the other elites they play with. Anyone who makes it to the NFL and plays is an elite athlete. There are millions of athletes who don't even have a chance to get there. That's the point that you missed. Now, you can argue she is not elite compared to her peers, but that's a different discussion.
  19. Well, I do agree they should treat the trophy better, personally. And I thought it was a little disgraceful for Gronk to hit a baseball with the trophy a couple years back. But we're dealing with some of the most entitled people on the planet, so it makes sense they would do stuff like that. I'm not too worried about it. Just a minor annoyance. There are far bigger things to be worried about.
  20. Seems like mostly they just stand around.
  21. I've come across a few dudes from farming families in Idaho. Invariably they were all extremely humble, down to Earth, and super hard workers.
  22. I think Watt could have been traded in the real world. But supposedly they decided to release him so he could sign where he wants. If you think there isn't a team out there willing to trade a draft pick for JJ Watt, even on a one year deal, I don't know what to tell you. They could have gotten a third or 4th rounder probably, but the Texans decided they wanted to allow Watt to choose his own future.
  23. Gilmore was a free agent. Watt was cut. I do not see any similarity there. Now you can say the Bills were wrong to let Gilmore walk (even though he was a malcontent and didn't want to be in Buffalo. He wanted national recognition), but that doesn't correlate to Watt being cut at all.
  24. I think the bolder prediction would be to predict Morse to NOT be cut, since that has been the TBD narrative this off-season so far. Personally, I don't see it. I think they keep Morse.
