  1. Yep. All the quotes from Beane are about how Daboll and Frazier didn't get a fair shot at getting hired as head coaches. The main concern was not that they were distracted for the playoff games. Excuse for what? All indications are that they made the proposal so that coordinators that go deep in the playoffs get more of a chance to be hired as head coaches. Beane didn't mention anything about it being a distraction or a reason why the team struggled.
  2. There is only one Josh Allen. Luckily he is on our team.
  3. Heck yeah. He's a good player. I'd love to have him.
  4. Yeah, this was from last off season, I believe.
  5. I wonder if Watt is still a huge difference maker, though. I don't really know, but I kind of doubt he is. Von Miller might be interesting if we can afford him.
  6. Nobody. Fans obsess over position switches.
  7. It's going to be interesting to see what happens going forward with QB's like him. It is now common to have QB's play deep into their 30's and even 40's now. That means they all accumulate stats. QB's who are good will get into the best all-time category when you look just at raw stats. I'm pretty sure he led the league in INT's a couple times (he threw 18 in 2014 and 21 in 2016, and had two other seasons with 20 INT's). But he consistently three for over 4,000 yards. To me he is a toss up. But I think he'll get in because of recency bias. Let the record state that I disagree with you and your 30 years of experience. I'm fine with that. We all have to trust our own eyes.
  8. He is a great player, but that doesn't mean he is a hall of famer. If he were to retire tomorrow I would put money on him NOT getting in. That means he hasn't done enough yet. He had two really good seasons. The rest were above average. And as a Bill he was good, but not great. And he usually struggled for the first half of the season before looking like one of the best in the league in the second half of the season. And it started that way in NE too. There were Pats fans calling for him to get released. But he put it all together, became consistently good, and is now a fantastic player. But no, he was not playing to the level he is now when he was a Bill. He clearly got better.
  9. He is pretty fast for his size. He has actually made some pretty great catches. He just follows those up with easy drops. And when he gets the ball in his hands he runs defenders over. I've seen special stuff from him. But none of it matters if he can't consistently make the easy plays. That's what plagues him.
  10. Wow, and three of those are being discussed for trading this off-season. Funny.
  11. I'm actually a little puzzled that he hasn't had opportunities the past few years. There are usually desperate teams out there more than willing to bank on the resurgence of past ability.
  12. He was really good here for a few years. I don't think he was overrated at all.
  13. He is old, doesn't play special teams (to my knowledge), and was never a particularly good teammate or mentor. Hard pass. He was awesome in his prime, though.
  14. The Titans screwed up their draft and off-season for sure. But this particular player has nobody to blame but himself.
  15. Knox has never gotten out of the dog house. At least Edmunds has the benefit of playing better as the year went on and he got healthy. Actually Knox did pretty well towards the end and caught a few TD's, but nobody here will ever admit that.
  16. Either... or neither. Whichever.
  17. How old are you? You are still saying stupid stuff.
  18. Lots of unnamed sources and not a single, concrete piece of information in the article. Even their "quotes" from the Pegulas seem made up.
  19. I wouldn't mind having Dalton as a backup. Or even Tyrod Taylor.
  20. And rain? Or did the Pats game have rain? I remember two rain games.
  21. Or sign in free agency.
  22. Wasn't the 2nd Jets game inclement weather too? I seem to remember a couple of the regular season games being bad weather.
  23. The 't' in 'often' has had a resurgence, much like the 'd' in 'handsome'. This is actually due to an increase in education and understanding of spelling. Both are correct, according to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (4th ed.). 'Often' comes from 'oft' and people stopped pronouncing the 't' merely because of laziness. "With the rise of public education and people’s awareness of spelling in the 19th century, according to the dictionary, sounds that had become silent were sometimes restored. This is what happened with the “t” in “often.”" https://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2007/07/often.html
  24. So Thielen wasn't better in 2017 when he had 1276 yards, 91 catches, and 5 TD's compared to Diggs who had 849 yards, 64 receptions, and 8 TD's? What about in 2018 when Thielen had 1373 yards, 113 receptions, and 9 TD's compared to Diggs who had 1022 yards, 102 receptions, and 9 TD's? He also had more receptions, yards, and TD's than Diggs in 2016. So it is obvious NOW that Diggs is better than Thielen, but a year ago that wasn't really the case. Thielen had two pro bowls and Diggs had none. I'm pretty sure Thielen was listed ahead of Diggs on the depth chart too. Yes, they were 1A and 1B, but Thielen was the 1A. Perhaps Diggs knew he was better and was not being utilized to his full potential, and maybe that had something to do with some of the tension that emerged there. But to outside observers, Thielen and Diggs were both really good receivers, but Thielen had a bit more production and was used in a wider variety of ways. Perhaps you and others were wiser and knew that Diggs was much better than Thielen, but that was not how the two receivers were being used in Minnesota. I was really happy about the trade too. We had a low 1st round pick and I thought there was no way a rookie would come in and be better than Diggs.
