  1. I remember a few years ago after the stadium renovations that he made some positive comments about the stadium and said he didn't necessarily think the Bills needed a new stadium. There are a lot of reasons not to like him, but Jones isn't dumb.
  2. I expect Dawkins and Brown to both catch TD's this season. I think Spencer Brown could be an extra olineman that they can sneak through and get some catches.
  3. I get the argument, I just don't agree that it will be a significantly greater risk than last season for the Bills. It's never possible to completely remove risk. The Bills could have some players deal with COVID-19 this year, in fact they probably will, but that's also going to happen to most teams, including the ones with high vaccination numbers. The difference between 80% vaccination and 90% vaccination is only about 6 guys. It's just not that different to make a claim that one team having a handful of guys not vaccinated is going to keep them from the Superbowl. The Titans just had a big outbreak among fully vaccinated players because they went out for dinner. These things are going to happen. The Bills followed the protocols pretty well last year and had minimal impact from COVID. I think they can do the same thing this year. They just need to follow the protocols. After their preseason scare I bet McDermott has a pretty short leash now on players not following the protocols. We'll see. That was the assumption for the entire NFL, but the vaccination rates held steady after cut downs.
  4. It was painfully obvious to me that he was playing for a new contract. I was very glad we did not re-sign him. I wish him well, but I am glad the Bills moved on. Same with Lawson. I was banging the tables to not re-sign either of them.
  5. Allegedly
  6. Such a sadistic religion.
  7. I've never really understood sports superstitions. Is there some mystical force that is tallying up what fans do? Or is it a fickle god that blesses and curses according to its whims? I just watch the games.
  8. Some of the greatest hits and defensive plays (and universally celebrated) in the history of the game would be flags today. That's the real shame. Defensive players no longer have the ability to make those impact plays anymore. And I think player safety is part of it, but the real motivation is making it easier for offended so that games have higher scores and bigger offensive plays, because fans generally have preferred that historically.
  9. Nice joke, but do some research. The British non-rhotic accent didn't fully develop until the 1800's. This change influenced parts of America like Boston and New York which lead to their non-rhotic accents. But the bulk of America maintains the rhotic accent which is older and more phonetic. Of course, American accents have changed over time as well, but it's silly to say that the British accent is proper when it is a newer fad and different from historical accents. When America was settled the British accent did not exist yet, which is why it wasn't brought over.
  10. I don't really have an interest in googling the reliability of Jeeps. I'll just take your expert word for it.
  11. Well, I tend to agree with you. I think as the season goes on he'll prove that he is the most effective back on the team and take larger and larger chunks of the rushing load each game. I think this could be a breakout year for him. I thought last year could have been a big year for him too, but it didn't work out. But I think Daboll and the oline are determined to improve the running game, and I think Singletary is a man on a mission. At least we pronounce things correctly. Your non-rhotic version of English sounds nice, but just isn't proper.
  12. Did you have a bad experience? I haven't heard anyone complain about Jeeps before.
  13. I just find the snap judgements to be pretty silly. I mean, a lot of the posters here, without having any information whatsoever, are jumping to one side or the other, claiming the woman is lying and only after money, or claiming she should be believed. Just have to see how things play out. I'll offer my opinion once I actually have information to base it on.
  14. People try to bury these things and move on. I don't think it is fishy for someone to come out 30 years later. It can take 30 years for people to finally get the courage to do something. For many people, they NEVER get the courage. Have to let it play out in a court of law. I highly doubt there is any kind of evidence, so it's going to be her word against his.
  15. Wow, someone did some homework instead of just yelling profanities into the sky?
  16. And I disagree. I don't think 4th string running backs play much, if at all, for any teams. If you have enough injuries that you have to play your 4th stringer, at any position, you are pretty much screwed anyway. At what point last year were the Bills needing to play Jones at RB and couldn't?
  17. How often does a 4th running back play on offense for other teams?
  18. McKenzie. He will be ready week 1.
  19. A lot of posters here were convinced he would supplant Knox as the #1 TE after a few tweets about him making a couple plays in training camp. And we see it here again with the countless posts of confusion on why he didn't make the team. I totally get it. Knox needs to be better. In fact, I would love to see an upgrade to Knox regardless, but I never saw Hollister as anything but depth.
  20. Exactly. Hollister would not have been cut if Beane and McDermott didn't think Sweeney and Gilliam provided more for the team. Hollister is just another of those camp darlings that fans got fixated on.
  21. I think it was getting hit by five defenders in the back field as soon as he touched the ball all year. You saw Hollister on only like 3 plays. Maybe people were working him up without actually seeing anything from him. Both are depth players. I'll trust the coaches who have actually seen them both play a ton.
  22. Those things all literally mean something.
