  1. Yeah, he's a good player, but the Bills have other priorities. And man, the Jets would be idiotic to trade him to a division rival.
  2. We almost never punted last year. Do you really think this is going to hurt the team much? He is an NFL caliber punter. We'll be fine.
  3. It's not. He is a coveted backup and bridge QB around the league. That's why he has been traded for and signed to decent contracts. He is also a good team player and a respected teammate. You certainly don't want him as your long term starter, but he would be a huge upgrade over Matt Barkley as a backup, in my opinion. He has won some games in this league and has a lot of starting experience.
  4. But I think it has pretty much always been that way. Overdorf just does what he is told.
  5. Jets are on that list twice and the Dolphins once. All recent years too. Our AFC East rivals shell out the money.
  6. They had a truck load of cap space they had to spend. They no longer have Brady so they can't get by with no talent on offense anymore. I'm not sure Bill Belichick is making decisions based on what the Bills have done. He is trying to build a competitive team.
  7. We've had far worse. The drought was tough.
  8. If the Texans trade him within conference they are even more idiotic than everyone thinks.
  9. He is a good quality backup.
  10. The NFL got the whole season in regardless. I don't think there is anything to be worried about.
  11. I'm not sure Golloday wants to be catching passes from Cam Newton, especially after their big TE signings. He would be smart to go to a more WR friendly team. So maybe the Pats did want him but he said "thanks, but no thanks".
  12. The minute it becomes a bidding war, you walk away. That's not how you build a consistent winner.
  13. That is serious money for a guard. Wow.
  14. He'll have plenty of opportunities for kick returns. A guy in his position just needs to get as much money as possible.
  15. And he got paid big time. But the TE position is super important in NE. And they have cap space.
  16. I didn't change my tune. I said Jonnu would get top dollar. And I think he will. There are certainly ways that the Bills could make that work. I just don't think it is advisable. I'd rather have Hunter Henry if I was forced to sign a top TE. I don't think the Bills are going to be able to sign a top pass rusher. I think that is going to be left to developing the talent we have (AJ Epenesa, for example) and drafting guys. For Corner, again, I don't think they can sign a top guy. But perhaps they can find a guy better than Levi Wallace, and I would draft one high.
  17. But now that free agency is opening, it's pretty clear that Jonnu Smith is looking for a competitive offer. He can make a lot of money AND go to a contender. I don't put much stock in rumors anyway. I never considered the Milano rumors to be anything substantial. But literally everyone was surprised we signed Milano. Why? Because 9 times out of 10, players like to test the market and sign as big a deal as they can. And if we are going to throw some money around, I'd rather they bring in a good corner or a good pass rusher. TE is not a huge priority for me. But it's up to Beane. He'll do what he thinks helps the team now and in the future. But I believe part of building a perennially successful team is to not give out big contracts in free agency, but to build through the draft. The Bills have an opportunity to do that. They have a great core of players. They don't need to build through free agency anymore. They can focus on drafting and developing players. They can sign value free agents. Occasionally, for a very specific difference maker, they could overpay for a free agent, but that has to be balanced with a very sound cap strategy.
  18. I'm not sure what you mean. Jonnu Smith IS hitting free agency. Matt Milano decided to sign a team friendly deal to stay with his team. Smith chose to test free agency.
  19. Well, he's going to. Milano didn't hit free agency.
  20. Hmm. Well he's a good blocker. If he's cheap I wouldn't mind it.
  21. Boettger and Bojo should be re-signed. It would be nice to have McKenzie back if the coaches are confident he can be a full-time returner. After that, bringing in pass rush help is of most importance. Maybe a TE if one of the better ones gets left out of the signing frenzy. Find some value free agents. The rest you can draft.
  22. I'm fine with the approach. Resign your talent. Make some value signings in free agency. Build through the draft.
  23. My goodness. A defense that was elite for three years, and then yes, was more average last year.
