  1. What does "stackin' their chicken" mean? It all made sense to me until that very last line. Now, if he said "stackin' their Skittles" I would have followed.
  2. No, I liked Murphy, although he went downhill over the years. I like Tasker. I loathed Donald Jones. I like Chris Brown. I have defended the show a lot over the years. Maddy Glab just doesn't add any value to the show at all. I don't see how anyone could say she is doing a good job. Now, when she isn't a regular and just comes on the show for her short, silly segments? Fine. Whatever. But it's a train wreck when she is expected to talk for three hours about NFL football. She rambles worse than Tasker, and it's always just to restate what Brown says. 100% of the time (unless they are rambling about their personal lives). I don't care if she is fired or not. Just don't ask her to do what she clearly can't do. She can't talk about football live on air for 3 hours straight. For short, specific segments she is fine.
  3. Sure, but I think most people would say they were a lot more active and better at sports and physical things when they were in their 20's vs their 30's. I know I was. Part of it is just lifestyle. I was a lot more active then and had a more active job. Once I got a desk job I went downhill and was a lot less active. And I had kids so I was not as free to just leave and go play sports with friends or even work out as much. People have some recency bias. Beebe is one of the fastest in NFL history.
  4. Yes, I knew about his past CFL seasons. Good point about the running start. That should help slower receivers. Often the issue with speed is a lack of acceleration rather than the lack of top speed.
  5. I like Cover 1, but they are a little long winded and annoying for me. They provide great breakdowns, but their constant chuckling kind of wears at me.
  6. Donald Jones was almost as bad as Glab, but in different ways. Did you ever listen when he was doing the show with Murphy? It was just so painfully obvious that he put zero effort into it, and I'm pretty sure Murphy came to resent him because he was carrying the show completely by himself and he'd constantly say passive aggressive things to Jones. It was bad. My favorite is the Locked On Bills podcast with Joe Marino. He provides some great stats following games and has a great primer for the next game each week. It's clear he knows the NFL really well. He was very negative about the Bobby Hart signing because he knew about his past performances. He does his homework. Tasker has been all on board with masks and vaccines and everything from the beginning. He talks about it all the time. He's not as boisterous about it as Chris Brown, but he has been a full supporter, at least that's how he came across to me.
  7. In this case, and probably this case only, it has nothing to do with gender. Glab is just legitimately bad. I gave her a chance. I even bore with her in the beginning knowing that she was new and telling myself she might get better. But no. She has not. Some say she has an annoying voice. I've got no problem with her voice. She just never provides value at all on the radio show.
  8. The way to beat Josh historically is to drop into coverage and take away the deep stuff, and contain him in the pocket. Easier said than done, but if you can do that it burns him up to just take the short easy stuff. Eventually he tries to push the ball down field. Sometimes it turns into amazing big plays, though. So this makes some sense to me. Although he was pressured a lot week 1, and had to evade a lot of pressure week 2.
  9. I always thought he'd be too slow. And he is. But good luck to him in the CFL. Hope he does well.
  10. Thread titles should not be longer than the opening post...
  11. I can't listen to the show with Maddy Glab. All she does is repeat what Chris Brown says, but in a way that makes it twice as long to say. She provides nothing of value. It makes the show unlistenable for me. Steve is a little discombobulated and has strange things to say, but at least he isn't just a parrot repeating everything he hears from others on the show. Hope he returns soon. Anyway, thanks for the heads up that she is still on the show today. I will not be listening to it later.
  12. The Chiefs got away with mugging receivers in the secondary last year, including in the Championship game against the Bills. In the Superbowl the refs finally started calling stuff on them and I think that was one of the keys to the Tampa Bay victory, along with getting tons of pressure on Mahomes. I'm not convinced that the Bills can slow down Hill or Kelce. They couldn't last year and they won't be able to this year either. What's that mean? Probably a shootout. But I think the Bills have a far better defense and so will get at least a couple stops or turnovers which may be the difference in the game. I think that's how the 2nd half will be. I won't be surprised if both defenses play decently the first half. The Chiefs are sick of getting told their defense is so bad, so they'll come out motivated. The Bills just legitimately have a top 5 defense so they'll have some answers early on. By the 2nd half the Bills offense and Chiefs offense will both get rolling and the flood gates will open.
  13. Nobody in the NFL can do that unless you knock Mahomes around and don't allow him to get Kelce the ball.
  14. Interesting. One of the least likeable personalities in sports likes one of the most likeable personalities in sports. Guess it's a yin and yang kind of thing.
  15. One guy on Twitter says his entire section was booing him. There's obviously not consensus on this. There are fans who think he is getting booed, and the actual player thinks it too. It sounds like a big misunderstanding, but I don't blame those people for thinking it is booing. Beasley isn't alone in that.
  16. Yeah, I'm sure he was going to say he sucked and got benched because he sucks at football. That's exactly what a coach would tell the media.
  17. Obviously he felt like he was getting booed. Not his fault for hearing that. Maybe he wasn't, but he obviously couldn't tell the difference, which is not his fault.
  18. I don't think they're going anywhere with him, personally. Just another guy.
  19. I think music tastes are one of the most polarizing things there are. It comes down to personal taste and rarely are even two individuals aligned. That's why I think they should cast a wide net. Pull in a country star, a rap star, a pop star, a rock star, all in one show. None of it is for me. I listen to classical, 90's rock and pop, 50's and 60's rock, and some early 2000's music. I don't like rap (except for some early stuff) and hip hop. I don't like 80's rock and metal. I don't really like anything from today. But I would appreciate more diversity in their music choices for halftime and If I knew there was going to be some diversity I would be more likely to tune in instead of doing other things during halftime. Plus I think it makes business sense to try to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, even if I am never the target audience (which I know I never will be).
  20. And why does that matter? The halftime show is for the fans.
  21. What does this have to do with fantasy football? Weird it was moved here.
  22. People aren't allowed to dislike certain music genres?
  23. Huh? He clearly is dealing with issues in his throat. He admitted something is going on. He isn't claiming that he is fine.
  24. Unless you have a boat load of money and draft picks (which the Bills don't), it's going to take some time. We have a bunch of average starters, some of them maybe below average. It gets the job done often, and sometimes it doesn't. Beane has been excellent at building depth on the line, though, so when someone comes in it isn't a huge dropoff. Over time by developing draft picks and making shrewd pickups in free agency the line should get better. But it is a multi-year project, and even then you have to start replacing players that leave or get old, so the job is never going to be done on the oline. What we need is one elite guy on the line to anchor it and then fill in the pieces around him. Right now we don't have that. Dawkins is above average. Morse is maybe a little above average. But they aren't even close to being elite. The rest are below average or worse, but at least lower end starting caliber players.
  25. Rodgers is really annoying to me. It happened from years of drinking his own kool-aid.
