  1. I think he is exaggerating to make a point. More often than not, Singletary was hit in the backfield or faced a wall of defenders. That's on the oline. Of course, when things aren't working, running backs may start trying to do too much and start second guessing things and I think Singletary did that, but the big problem was not having any holes to hit. I'd say Singletary was only 15% of the problem. The rest was on the oline blocking and the scheme, in my opinion. And, BTW, I don't think that Moss looked significantly better than Singletary. That narrative is out there, but I have to trust my own eyes. And the stats don't support a major difference between the two.
  2. What hole? The oline did a terrible job opening up holes for BOTH running backs. Moss is much bigger and more physical, so naturally he did better in situations where you have to put your head down and charge through bodies. Zack Moss averaged 4.3 yards per attempt (only 3 in the playoffs), and Singletary averaged 4.4 (3.9 in the playoffs). I think they were pretty much similar in their effectiveness, but for different reasons. Both are pretty good pass blockers, though.
  3. You're acting like he is Lesean McCoy. Singletary doesn't do more dancing than is needed.
  4. I think WIlson is a good QB prospect. I also like Fields and Lance. I think they all have a chance to be good QB's. Much of it will come down to their individual situations and how well their respective teams do at developing them and building around them. The Jets have been horrible at that, so that does not bode well for whoever they take, but they have a new coaching staff so we'll see. Lance is interesting to me, because he has the Josh Allen comparisons. I think people are foolish to compare ANY QB to Josh Allen. There is no such thing as finding your own version of Josh Allen. Josh Allen is an NFL enigma and you can't expect another QB to do anything similar to what he has done and how he has progressed.
  5. Fields is going to be drafted very high, I think. And I am not totally convinced that the Jets are taking Wilson. They very well could take Fields, or even Lance. The media can say what the media wants. Doesn't mean that teams feel the same way.
  6. Sure. So what should happen when you face lesser competition? You should dominate them, and he did. I'd say go watch some tape of him. He made great decisions and great throws most of the year. His pro day was pretty awesome. But yeah, he had a really good oline and played lesser opponents. It's hard to know how that translates.
  7. How the tides turn. Last off season everyone was excited for Singletary and thought he would have a break out year. Singletary and Moss were a small part of the problem. The oline and scheme were bigger factors. Fix those and both those guys will be good.
  8. I think Wilson looks really good, personally. He is athletic, has a good arm, and is very accurate. He is smart. The only problem he will face is injuries, which very well could cut his career short. He isn't big and he likes to pick up yards with his legs. His college injuries tell me he could face nagging injuries throughout his career just because of his play style and lack of size. But who knows?
  9. Way too cheap to move up that far. It would cost more than that. Trading up for a RB in the first round seems like a bad decision to me. Especially that far. I could see trading up a few spots, but jumping to 19 for a RB? That's pretty ridiculous. No. Not even close.
  10. McShay is a moron. Plain and simple. I don't trust a thing he says.
  11. He could probably set another record for surviving a 600 foot drop by landing on his head.
  12. They just didn't do their due diligence. But most had Allen projected very high. Almost everyone agreed he would be a 1st round pick. Some just thought he was too risky. A guy like McShay admitted how lazy he was when he didn't believe that someone would watch all of Josh Allen's rookie games, showing that he was willing to trash Allen without even doing the homework to watch him play. Lots of people in the media don't do enough digging. They see a number and make a conclusion, but don't do any digging to see why the number was what it was and how other numbers compare. It's just lazy and bad guesswork. But the number is solid and still tells a good story if you do the digging.
  13. Those movies came out in the 70's and 80's.
  14. The statistics did not lie. The interpretations were just inaccurate. Beane and McDermott also interpreted his statistics, and any other data they could get on him, and interpreted it differently than others, guessing that he could succeed based on the evidence they saw.
  15. Statistics require interpretation. The numbers do not lie, but they can't capture all aspects of everything. You still have to interpret and project based on that data, which means it all comes down to guesswork in the end.
  16. What's wrong with quoting Yoda? You wanted Obi-wan quotes instead? I am fairly certain that Star Wars is generally adored by both idiots and smart people alike, btw.
  17. I googled "Jok" and came up with some kind of Thai food.
  18. We need a poll for the most angering defense from the 90's to today.
  19. I think my perspective of the oline is that we have mostly decent starters. Our two starting tackles are above average. Morse is probably above average. We are below average at both guard spots. But we have great depth with little drop off with our backups. I would like to see Beane continue to build the lines and upgrade spots, but the way he has built it means that there are no positional emergencies on the line, which is great. I think part of seeing better oline grades from PFF falls on Josh Allen's shoulders, and how little we ran the ball. I think the Chiefs playoff game really showed that our oline is not really a top ten unit. They are average and can get abused by internal pressure.
  20. Dang. Hopefully that doesn't carry over to madden. I prefer all my linebackers to have numbers in the 50's. That's a lot of linebackers in the NFL that will have to change numbers, if true. I'm not too excited about this. I like the more traditional number system. But, if it makes the players happy then so be it. It is not that important.
  21. My gut feeling is they'll move up. Our guts are at odds.
  22. 9 wins is worse. Don't they always?
  23. If you do a search for best special teamers of all time on google and look at the rankings that show up, many of them list Steve Tasker 1st. Some of them do not, but even when not he is always up there with Ray Guy and Devin Hester.
