The Superbowl was so strange for me. I went into it fully prepared to root against Brady and the Bucs, but found myself rooting against the Chiefs and enjoying the beat down they were getting. I guess I was bitter from the championship game and all of the shenanigans between our teams, plus Chiefs fans are the worst.

Are we becoming to Miami what New England was to us??
MJS replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think most people realize that the Pats were really good AND they got caught cheating many times. It's fine to accept both. If someone mentions their scandals it doesn't mean they think the Pats weren't a good football team. Their scandals did happen and they will stay with the organization and those who remember it for a long, long time. But surely, everyone knows they were good at playing football. -
I used to be a Peyton Manning fan and rooted for him with the Colts and Broncos. I also liked Drew Brees, so I liked seeing the Saints succeed. Frank Reich with the Colts. Any team that faced NE, although with them dropping back down to reality that's not as important anymore. I used to root for Andy Reid and the Chiefs until I found out how insufferable their fan base is, plus they have a few players that are easy to root against, like Tyreek Hill. I'm to the point that I enjoy seeing them lose, although I'll always be an Andy Reid fan.

10 teams get five primetime games -- Bills not one of them
MJS replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
5 prime time games if you include the Superbowl... -
No games are easy, but Buffalo should be favored in all of those first 4 games.
-
Could easily be 4-0 to start the season if this is the case. And those last 4 games seems like an easier stretch too.

Luckily, I'm the one who cares about holidays more. My wife doesn't care about them all that much. So, she will have no problem with us dropping the kids off at her parents' and heading to a Bills game with me.

I might try to go to this game. With Brees gone, maybe not.

Urban just can’t quit Tebow! (Update - Cut by Jags)
MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interest doesn't just mean positive interest. Seems like you have negative interest. He is polarizing and it has people talking about the team, including you. You chose to click on a thread about Tim Tebow and express your opinion about him. That's one kind of interest that he is already driving. -

MJS replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way. I think there is a slim to none chance he makes the team. But it will have people talking about it and drive more interest in the team. Even if he is cut they'll talk about it throughout the season how they were willing to bring him in and kick the tires. -
Ok. I'll say that placement, especially being able to pin an opponent deep in their own end, is more important than net yardage. And Bojo had an extremely small sample size last year, for one thing. His 2019 net average was 38.2. In 2018 it was 40.2. I would have been totally fine keeping him for another year if the price was right, but if the team wants to move on for a more consistent player (at a position where consistency is by far the most important trait), I'm fine with that.

Really? That makes you less interested? -

You're crazy if you think adding Tebow doesn't add interest for their team. -

You are just throwing that silly opinion out into the air without any knowledge or insight whatsoever? That's bold. -
Top 10 games of the 2021 NFL season (Two Bills games make the list)
MJS replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
#9 I agree with you on. They just feel compelled to put a Cowboys game on there for some reason. But #10 with the two new rookie QB's could be interesting, to me at least. -

It's because of the new, highly drafted rookie QB's. -

Same. In my mind we just got beat from start to finish. I'll have to go back and watch that game at some point. -
Top 10 games of the 2021 NFL season (Two Bills games make the list)
MJS replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like the Ravens have lost a bit of their luster, personally. They are still good, obviously, but Lamar Jackson and their running offense is no longer a novelty. And a few defenses, including the Bills, have shut them down. So yeah, I can agree with the Chargers game taking their place. -

I caught that as well and wasn't sure what the writer meant. But, it's pretty embarrassing how little the Bills could beat the Pats regardless. -
https://www.nfl.com/news/top-10-games-of-the-2021-nfl-season-bills-chiefs-giants-cowboys-make-list Here's the list from the article on NFL.com: 10) Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets 9) New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys 8 ) Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Los Angeles Rams 7) Buffalo Bills at Tampa Bay Buccaneers "If the Bills are looking for a test of their true ability -- one that doesn't have "KC" on its helmet -- they'll receive one in the form of the defending champions. After losing by two touchdowns to the Chiefs in the AFC title game, Buffalo sat at home and watched the team that just defeated them get its doors blown off in the Super Bowl. The team that delivered the beatdown is on Buffalo's schedule this season. It's time to see how the surging Bills stack up. Buffalo won't be meeting a complete stranger in this game, either. Tom Brady single-handedly ruined Western New York's hopes for two decades, save for a stray upset win with Drew Bledsoe at the controls, and it's about time a strong Bills team attempts to avenge its many losses at the hands of the greatest of all time. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, gets a chance to further prove its supremacy by taking on the AFC's runner-up a year after dominating its champion." 6) Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers 5) Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens 4) Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers 3) Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs "Last season's AFC Championship Game got off to a promising -- if not stunning -- start before Kansas City's offense woke up and removed any real intrigue. It was a disappointing end to what was initially billed a high-flying conference title game between the reigning champions and perhaps the only AFC team equipped to keep pace with them. Instead, it was largely a flop. But after an offseason in which the Bills quietly added in areas of need and the Chiefs impressively revamped their offensive line, this rematch of two top-tier squads could give us a much more entertaining showdown, set to once again take place at Arrowhead. Can Josh Allen outduel Patrick Mahomes? Will we get more defensive resistance from the Bills this time around? Might this be a key result that could sway the conference's seeding? Check back in for the answers this fall." 2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots 1) Green Bay Packers at Kansas City Chiefs (Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills made the honorable mentions as well) Any issues with that list? Any games missing? I think the two that they chose for the Bills are super intriguing. I'd almost put the Bucs game ahead of the Chiefs game (almost). There's so many interesting storylines there, like facing Brady on a different team. McDermott has not beaten a Brady lead team before. Plus, they are the defending super bowl champs and the Bills were within one game of the super bowl. It's an excellent measuring stick. But that Chiefs game is the big elephant in the room. The Bills faced them twice last year and couldn't beat them. Looking forward to the season!

Miami to release CB Bobby McCain.
MJS replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, he doesn't seem to have much regard for the culture or leadership of the team. Will be interesting to see them going forward. Cutting good players who are leaders on your team and who contribute positively to the culture can be risky. But winning cures most things. If they win it probably won't matter. -

Is Jerry Hughes a future Wall of Famer?
MJS replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not even close. Sorry, but edge rushers are judged by sack production, which Hughes hasn't gotten. He'd be accurately viewed as a good player on any other team, but nothing special or great.
