Cincy. Tennessee has beaten the Bills the last couple of years. Obviously, I think we could beat them, but I'd rather face a team that we didn't lose to the last two times we faced them.

There's no way any part of the schedule is decided yet. They run tons of simulations through their algorithm after all the teams have made their specific schedule requests (lumping west coast games together, dates their stadium won't be available, etc.). They work on it right up until the schedule is released. Read the thread where Sal goes into why Hawkins is wrong.

I think it is as simple as him not being funny. I think he used to be more funny on the Colbert Report, but since he switched to late night he has not been funny. Maybe some don't like his politically charged nature, but for me it just comes down to humor. Guess I don't mesh with his. I find comedians on both sides of the political spectrum to be funny, but not him.

I think the big difference between the two is in their straight line speed, but both players have insanely fast acceleration and twitchiness.

Do you tell them that we just paid him to come play here and that their team could have done the same if they wanted him? No theft involved.

People buy season tickets often knowing that they can make many of the games, but maybe they have a conflict for a couple of the games. Or they buy more tickets than they need for friends and family to come with them but that doesn't always work out, so they need to sell some tickets for some games. It's not always because you are just trying to make money or are disloyal to your team. Trying to manufacture a loyal fan base that doesn't sell their tickets is foolhardy. It's not who their fan base is and trying to force them to be that way is not going to work. They'll just have much fewer people willing to pay for season tickets.

We'll have some fans angry at the team and calling for some drastic changes if the Bills don't win the Superbowl this year, but those are the types that find something to be angry at no matter what. Even if we win it they will find something to complain about. I really want a Superbowl and I understand that it is a tremendous feat. It's going to take everything the team has, and if they don't get it done they have next year to try again. That's how it works. I picked the Saints to go to the Superbowl for like 3 straight years a couple years ago. With Brees, Kamara, Thomas, and a defense that was finally good, I thought they were the best team in the NFC. And though they got close, they never got there. It's freakin hard.

Same.

Wow. Talk about a crybaby move. And they are screwing over any fans who want to sell tickets. There's a difference between not doing it because you choose to and not doing it because you can't.

Huh? What are we appreciating them for? Just for sucking?

Another accolade for Josh Allen - Best under pressure
MJS replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only chance to beat Josh Allen is to drop into coverage and get pressure with four rushing. You have to have excellent discipline on defense. Josh usually evades the first rusher, so you have to get pressure with two or more players. Even then, you have to kind of hope Allen is having one of his off days. The story is kind of the same with Mahomes, actually, but Mahomes is not the threat that Allen is on the ground. Mahomes benefits from really good play calling and creativity on offense too, though, so both guys are tough to handle. You don't blitz them much, though, and you don't try too much man coverage. -
Sound like they are due for a punt! Just kidding

Ok, so do you think that last year was a complete failure? Do you think that it provided nothing for the team and the players as far as experience and drive for this year? I think one of the reasons the Bills have a good shot of going to and winning the super bowl BECAUSE of their experience last year losing in the championship game. They are more battle tested now. Even the losses they took in the regular season have been good experience for overcoming games like that in the future. Allen is a young QB. This is all helping him. If we don't win this year, that doesn't mean they can't go win it next year, or the year after, or every year for the rest of his career.

Ok, so what will you do if they don't win a Superbowl this year? There are no excuses, so does that mean you will go root for another team? I don't understand the point of this whole sentiment. It seems more like you are threatening the team to win the Superbowl or... you are going to be really disappointed! That will show them!

If you are tired, take a break from the sport. And by the way, Josh Allen is the 18th highest paid player in 2022. And even when his bigger contract kicks in in 2023, he is still only the 6th highest paid player.

A Few Thoughts about the Patriots Playoff Game, in no particular order
MJS replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Also ahead of Tyreek Hill. -
Now? No way. He needs at least two more years of best downs from the Bills. Then he can retire in shame.

HiFootballIQ is the same as FilthyBeast? That makes a lot of sense.

Are refs allowed to have beards? I don't think I've seen a ref with facial hair. Edit: Found one

Past games are not predictors of future games. You have been pretty down on the Bills for weeks and weeks, and they continue to prove you wrong over and over. Maybe you should relax and just see how the game goes. Wringing your hands and worrying so much can't be healthy. This is a game between two AFC powerhouses. Anything can happen. The Bills or the Chiefs could blow the other team out. Or it could be a shootout. Or it could be a defensive struggle. We just have to wait and see. Try to appreciate this era of Bills football a little. Win or lose, this is a good Bills team that will be contending for the foreseeable future at least. We have an elite QB and a good coaching staff and front office for the first time in decades. It's awesome.

Seriously? As if speed is the only thing you need to play corner in the NFL...

I don't disagree with what you are saying and I think our posts compliment each other. I fully agree that you can have multiple windows in a franchise QB's tenure, and we'll see that in Buffalo. I think we are in a wide open window right now and it will get more narrow in a couple of years, but with some retooling and developing, that window can get wider again. I don't think the super bowl is the only measure, though. Even though the Patriots had that 10 year super bowl drought, they were still going deep into the playoffs most years and were legitimate super bowl contenders, even if they didn't win a super bowl during those years. They consistently won their division and won playoff games throughout that decade.

Winning the Superbowl is not just about being the best team or playing your best ball. Sometimes you also need a few lucky breaks in your favor. Personally, I am going to just take this one game at a time. The Bills can beat any of these remaining teams for sure, but they could also lose to any of these remaining teams. The stars don't always align in your favor. Let's hope they do for these Bills this year.

It all depends on how your team was built. It is a different answer for every team. Many teams get their QB then they go out and sell the farm for high priced free agents, they make big trades for players, etc. They sell out for the super bowl window and kick the can down the road. They have a few years to make it work until they have to pay the piper. Other teams were built through the draft, like Seattle. Seattle has two really great drafts that netted them some elite players. They were good for awhile and then they got old and expensive. They weren't able to replicate those drafts or replace aging talent with young, cheaper talent. So they fizzled out eventually. The Bills were built through the draft and through free agency. They have focused on sustainability. Winning now and in the future. They focus on developing young talent. They are going to enter a phase where each draft is going to be more and more important as they will have less wiggle room in free agency and re-signing contracts due to Allen's and other foundational player's contracts. If they do that well, the window is open for as long as Allen is the QB. Beane doesn't like to kick the can down the road. He likes to pay the piper sooner rather than later, and that helps keep the future manageable. I'd say the current window is as wide open as it will be and that will last for a couple more years.
